NASCAR Lenox Industrial Tools 301 Preview

The drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will next head to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for Sunday afternoon's Lenox Industrial Tools 301. Kyle Busch was the winner in the first-ever running of the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway in the circuit's last race. David Reutimann and Jimmie Johnson followed Busch across the finish line in the inaugural Sprint Cup event at Kentucky, while Ryan Newman and Carl Edwards rounded out the Top 5.

Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, David Ragan, Kurt Busch, and Denny Hamlin also picked up Top-10 results at Kentucky, while Kevin Harvick had to settle for a 16th-place finish.

Kyle Busch jumped two spots into first place in the driver standings with his win in the Quaker State 400, with Edwards still in second, and Harvick dropping to third. Kurt Busch, Johnson, Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Newman, Hamlin, Tony Stewart, and Clint Bowyer fill out the rest of the Cup standings' Top 12.

Johnson won the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 last year, while Bowyer took the checkered flag in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire last September. Bowyer also won the Sylvania 300 in 2007, and Johnson swept the New Hampshire events in 2003.

Jeff Burton has four Cup wins at New Hampshire, and Gordon has three victories on the track in his career - but neither has visited Victory Lane there since Burton won the Dura Lube 300 in 2000.

Kurt Busch also has three career Cup wins at New Hampshire, most recently taking the checkered flag at the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 in 2008, while Stewart and Newman have two wins each on the track. Mark Martin, Joey Logano, Greg Biffle, Hamlin, Harvick, Kyle Busch, and Robby Gordon have all won Cup races at New Hampshire once.

After competing at New Hampshire the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will move on to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400 on July 31. The circuit's August schedule then includes races at Pocono, Watkins Glen, Michigan, and Bristol.
