NASCAR Quaker State 400 Preview

The drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will make their Kentucky Speedway debut on Saturday night under the lights in the Quaker State 400.

David Ragan took the checkered flag in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway in the series' last race, beating Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano across the finish line for the victory.

Kasey Kahne, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Paul Menard, Juan Montoya, and A.J. Allmendinger rounded out the Top 10 at Daytona. Jimmie Johnson was 20th, and Carl Edwards was 37th.

Harvick moved into first place in the driver standings with his result at Daytona, with Edwards now five points back in second place. Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, and Kenseth round out the current Top 5 of the driver standings.

Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Gordon, Clint Bowyer, Ryan Newman, Denny Hamlin, and Tony Stewart make up the rest of the Top 12. Ragan is now in 17th place, 120 points back of Harvick and 37 points behind Stewart.

The Kentucky venue is new to the Sprint Cup Series for 2011. Joey Logano won the Meijer 300 Nationwide Series event on the track last season, with Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski rounding out the top three drivers at that race.

After racing in the Quaker State 400 the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will move on to New Hampshire for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 on July 17. The month's calendar then comes to an end on July 31 at Indianapolis in the Brickyard 400.
