NHL All-Star Odds: Teams Set for Skills Competition and Game Action

The teams for the world's best game of shinny are set and the game is ready for Sunday in Canada's capital city. Team Alfredsson will act as the home team for the game, which may give them the betting edge this year.

There were few surprises in the draft selections. Zdeno Chara and alternate captain Joffrey Lupul took all the available Bruins and Maple Leafs, while Daniel Alfredsson got all the Senators and Canucks in the draft. Alfredsson also took former Sens goalie Brian Elliot and - by way of the last selection - Ottawa 67s alumni Logan Couture.

Alfredsson did put together the younger team. His squad is almost two years junior that of Chara's, and also have much less All-Star Game experience. In fact, Chara's team, with its 14 returnees, has been to 38 ASGs, while Alfredsson's group has 10 first-timers and just 18 games of experience to build on.

The skills competition is set for Saturday night, where the players will compete in six competitions. We'll see who is the fastest skater, who has the most accurate shot, and whether Chara can win his fifth hardest shot competition.

It's a full weekend of action, and Bovada's there with all your NHL player props. Check it out now.
