Kansas City Rests Up for World Series

Betting on the 2014 MLB World Series

The Kansas City Royals have beat MLB odds all season long, and now
they find themselves waiting to see who their opponent will be in the
World Series. The Giants are -1000 to win the NL Pennant and the
Cardinals are +600.

Kansas City was embroiled all season long in a head-to-head battle with
its Detroit Tigers rival, and the Royals eventually came up short in
their race for an American League division title. They settled for one
of the two league wild card berths.

The Royals’ dramatic Wild Card victory over the Oakland Athletics has
set the pace for their postseason. For years the Royals have developed a
solid young core of position players, and now the patience is paying
off. Eric Hosmer has an impressive .448 batting average and Mike
Moustakas has enjoyed four playoff home runs.

The Royals haven’t won a title since 1985. That was six years before
starting pitcher Yordano Ventura was even born. Now they’re favored
(-110) to win the World Series.

However, oddsmakers don’t seem overly confident in Kansas City, despite
the Royals’ early ALCS victory. The San Francisco Giants are +110 to win
the World Series even though there’s no guarantee they will even
survive the NLCS.
