The pitching matchup looks very good for Miami. Jose Fernandez (2.58
FIP) will make his ninth start of the season. Thus far, the 2013 NL
Rookie of the Year has earned 3.48 units for the Marlins on a team
record of 6-2. Fernandez struck out 11 batters in each of his last two
starts, allowing just one earned run over 14 innings combined.

The Nationals, meanwhile, are at the bottom of their starting rotation
with sophomore righty Joe Ross (3.36 FIP). After a very strong start to
the 2016 campaign – including a 4-2 victory over the Marlins (–155 away)
in his first outing – Ross has cooled off a bit, taking the loss in
each of his last two games. Washington is still 4-3 behind Ross this
year for 0.48 units in profit.
