NHL Western Conference Finals Knotted at 1 Game Each

2017 NHL Western Conference Finals

Ducks Erase 2-goal Lead to Even Series

The Anaheim Ducks and the Nashville Predators will battle in Game 3 of the NHL Western Conference Finals on Tuesday when they meet at Bridgestone Arena. The Anaheim Ducks overcame a two goal deficit to beat the Nashville Predators 5-3 on Sunday Night.

Things got heated as the teams established a level of hatred one would expect with a conference final. Anaheim's Ryan Kesler and Nashville's Ryan Johansen yapped at each other and exchanged slashes most of the night. Predators forward Filip Forsberg snuck in a stick to the groin of the Ducks' Jacob Silfverberg just before the second period ended. The officials missed that one along with a two-hander to the back of the legs of Nashville defenseman P.K. Subban late in the third period.

Oddsmakers opened the Predators as -150-moneyline favorites versus the Ducks, while the game's total opened at 5.

Nashville's bigger concern could be goalie Pekka Rinne. After allowing just 16 goals in the first 11 games, Rinne permitted four goals on 26 shots Sunday. That included a pair high to the blocker side. This an area Anaheim believes it can beat the 6-foot-5 netminder.

Rinne and his teammates should get a boost from returning to Bridgestone Arena. They have won all five postseason games this spring by a combined score of 15-6. Dating to April 25, 2016, the Predators have captured nine straight games in front of their home crowd.
