Cardinals Hope to Turn Ho Hum Season Around
The Washington Nationals and the St. Louis Cardinals start a weekend three-game series on Friday when they meet at New Busch Stadium. Other than a six-game winning streak in early May that landed the Cardinals in first place, St. Louis' season has been mostly devoid of accomplishment.
That is why the Cardinals' hope their 10-4 victory at Arizona on Thursday could be a potential turnaround for them. The Cards won two of three in Chase Field, where the Diamondbacks have been 30-12 this season.
Right hander Tanner Roark will take the mound for the Nationals to start this game. Roark is 6-5 this season with a 5.15 ERA.
