MLB Free Tuesday Pick- Arizona Diamondbacks at Colorado Rockies

Colorado Rockies

Arizona Riding 7-Game Win Streak

Game 1 of a three-game battle for first place in the NL West gets underway this Tuesday night in an 8:40 p.m. (ET) start when the Arizona Diamondbacks roll into Coors Field to tangle with the Colorado Rockies. Both teams are now at -105-moneyline betting odds to win and the total line is at 11.

Arizona is riding a seven-game winning streak into this series after sweeping the Phillies by a combined score of 15-9 in three games this past weekend. It is now just one game in back of Colorado for the lead in the NL West at 44-26. The Diamondbacks have gone 18-17 on the road this season and the total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in five of their last eight road games on BetAnySports’ closing line.

This lineup is ranked third in the National League when it comes to scoring runs and it has been able to average 5.4 runs a game during this current winning streak. Zack Greinke is slated to get the start for Arizona on Tuesday night. The right-hander is 8-3 this season with a 3.00 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. He went 5 2/3 innings against Detroit in his last start on June 13 and none of the five runs he surrendered were earned. He allowed five hits in that game and he gave up two walks.

Colorado Rockies have Won 5 in a Row

The Rockies come into this series with a five-game winning streak after sweeping San Francisco in an extended four-game series this past weekend. They outscored the Giants by a combined score of 32-23 in a slugfest. Colorado continues to lead the NL in scoring with a total of 383 runs in 72 games. It is 46-26 this season with a 21-13 record at home. The total has gone OVER BetAnySports’ closing line in five of its last seven games at Coors Field.

Look for rookie German Marquez to get the start for the Rockies on Tuesday night. This will be his 11th start of the year and he comes into this series with an ERA of 4.19 and a 1.40 WHIP. The right-hander picked up the win against Pittsburgh last Wednesday after holding the Pirates to one earned run on four hits in five innings of work. He has allowed two or less earned runs in five of his last six starts.

This should be a great series between two of the most exciting teams in the Majors right now. I am betting on the Rockies to draw first blood with the win at home on Tuesday night.
