Cleveland Indians Baseball

Dodgers Road Play Not Very Good

Two second-place teams in their respective divisions face one another in Game 1 of a three-game interleague matchup this Tuesday night. The Los Angeles Dodgers go on the road to face the Cleveland Indians in a 7:10 p.m. (ET) start at Progressive Field. The Dodgers have been opened as -162 road favorites by BetAnySports with the total set at 7.5. The Dodgers are now a -165-moneyline favorite.

Los Angeles wrapped up six-game home stand with this past weekend’s three-game sweep against Cincinnati. The Dodgers outscored the Reds by a combined 21-13 total. The total went OVER in all three games. The Dodgers are only a game and a half out of first place in the NL West at 38-25. The "Men in Blue" fall below .500 on the road. The team is 14-15 through 29 road games this season. The total has stayed UNDER in five of their last seven road games.

The Dodgers send their ace Clayton Kershaw to the mound for Tuesday’s series opener. Kershaw is 8-2 going into this game. He won last Thursday's start by a score of 2-1 against Washington. He held the Nationals to just one run on a solo home run. Kershaw threw seven innings. The left-hander’s ERA on the year stands at 2.20 with a 0.90 WHIP.

Cleveland Indians Look to Improve Play at Home

Cleveland remains a game and a half in back of Minnesota in the AL Central. The division race is heating up after taking two of three from the Chicago White Sox at home this past weekend. The Indians are just 14-15 at home this season. This includes a 6-2 record in their last six games at Progressive Field. They are 31-29 overall. The total has stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in seven of their last 10 games.

It is Trevor Bauer’s turn in the starting rotation for Cleveland and the right-hander has struggled this season with some control issues that have led to a shaky 6.10 ERA through his first 12 starts. He only lasted 3.1 innings against Colorado his last time out after allowing four earned runs on five hits to pick up the loss. He is now an even 5-5 on the year. The Indians did get some good production from its bats in the recent series against the White Sox with a combined 14 runs in three games.

Kershaw has been in a zone lately and Cleveland is still ranked 14th in the AL in scoring runs which all adds up to a play on Los Angeles to win this Tuesday night.
