Dodgers Look to Go Up 2-0 in NLDS Against DBacks

Ray Expected to Start Game 2 of NLDS Against Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 2 of the NLDS. The game is being televised nationally by TBS. First pitch is set to happen at 9:08 pm EST.

Oddsmakers have the Dodgers as -145-moneyline favorite. The total is at 8.

The Dodgers had the luxury of lining up their rotation for the National League Division Series. The Diamondbacks had to shuffle a bit after playing the wild-card game on Wednesday. They used Zack Greinke and Robbie Ray to dispose of the Colorado Rockies.

Greinke is set to pitch Game 3 on Monday in Arizona. DBacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Ray will start Game 2 on Saturday. His club is down 0-1 in the series after losing to the Dodgers on Friday, 9-5.

Ray threw 34 pitches in 2 1/3 innings Wednesday. He gave up one run and two hits. The two days of rest apparently were enough.

If Ray is feeling as good as he said he is, it's bad news for the Dodgers. He was dominant against Los Angeles during the regular season. Ray went 3-0 with a 2.27 ERA in five starts. He struck out 53 in 31 2/3 innings. In his career, he is 6-3 with a 2.69 ERA in 13 starts against Los Angeles.

Ray is 15-5 with a 2.89 in 28 starts this year.

Dodgers Hill Struggles Against DBacks

The Dodgers will send out left-hander Rich Hill. Manager Dave Roberts is showing confidence in him, despite his struggles against Arizona this season in his career. He is 0-3 with a 5.03 ERA in four starts this season. Hill is 1-5 with a 4.78 ERA in nine career starts against them.

Hill was 12-8 with a 3.32 ERA in 25 starts overall this season. The team will need him to make adjustments and use his unusual delivery to keep the DBacks hitters off balance.
