Kansas City Chiefs Look to Avenge Last Loss

This Sunday afternoon’s late NFL games feature a huge showdown in the AFC between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The game is a 4:25 p.m. (ET) start on CBS.  Arrowhead Stadium is one of the legendary, and hardest, places to play in the NFL.

BetAnySports has listed the Chiefs as three-point home favorites with the total set at 49. The line is now Kansas City as 3.5-point favorites and the total has bottomed out at 45.5.

Steelers Looking to Find Rhythm

The Steelers are a team that is hard to figure out. A shocking 23-17 loss to Chicago in Week 3,  as a 6.5-point road favorite, made many wonder. Then with Sunday’s head-scratching 30-9 home loss to Jacksonville as a 7.5-point favorite has sports bettors a bit confused.

In What direction is Pittsburgh is headed? This is a major question coming into a showdown against the top team in the NFL. The Steelers are now 3-2 straight-up this season. The team has a 2-3 record against the spread. The total has stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in all five games the team has played this season.

Steeler quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, was picked off five times against the Jaguars last week. The future Hall of Fame QB had zero touchdowns through the air as well. Antonio Brown had with 10 receptions for 157 yards as one of the bright spots.  Running back, Le’Veon Bell was held to just 47 yards rushing on 15 carries.

The Steelers’ defense was gouged for 231 yards on the ground against the Jaguars. That did include 181 by vaunted rookie running back Leonard Fournette. The Steelers are now ranked 20^th in the league in scoring defense at 19.8 points. They are 28^th against the run.

Kansas City Chiefs are Clicking on all Cylinders

It is hard to find any holes in Kansas City’s run to a perfect 5-0 start. They are undefeated straight up and against the spread. The Chiefs outlasted Houston 42-34 on Sunday night. They were a slight two-point road favorites. The total at BetAnySports  closed at 45-points and it easily went OVER.

The total has gone OVER in four of their first five outings. Kansas City’s current winning streak at home stands at five games both SU and ATS.

There are no issues at quarterback for the Chiefs’ offense right now. Alex Smith is playing at a very high level in his 13^th NFL season. He has completed 76.6 percent of his first 158 passing attempts. Smith has 1,391 yards and 11 touchdowns. Even more impressive is the fact that he has yet to throw an interception.

Rookie running back Kareem Hunt has led the ground game with 609 yards rushing. He has four scores on 97 carries. Overall Kansas City is the second-best rushing team in the NFL with an average of 156.2 yards per game.

I have very little confidence in Pittsburgh’s ability to turn things around this Sunday to cover the three points on the road. This means that I am going to keep riding the hot hand until it cools with a bet at BetAnySports that the Chiefs win again both SU and ATS.
