Thunder Look for Consistency Against Hot-Mess Lakers

Maybe LaVar Ball just wanted to light a fire under the Los Angeles Lakers. Ball told ESPN that head coach Luke Walton had lost control of the team. The Lakers (15-27 SU, 21-21 ATS) have won four straight games SU and ATS since then.

Their odyssey continues Wednesday with a road game against the wayward Oklahoma City Thunder (23-20 SU, 17-26 ATS), beginning at 8 PM ET. Oddsmakers have the Thunder as 9.5-point favorites. The total is at 216.5.

LA’s improved level of play might have more to do with the return to health of several players. That includes Ball’s son, Lonzo Ball. The hotshot rookie is already one of his team’s best performers. His shooting touch isn’t nearly as good as his passing and defense.

Brook Lopez recently returned from an eight-game layoff. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is now allowed to play basketball outside the state of California. He had been missing games due to a violation of his probation terms.

The Thunder looked like they’d sorted out some of their earlier issues distributing the workload among their Big Three of Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, but OKC have lost five of their last eight games SU and ATS. Defensive stopper Andre Roberson is also day-to-day with patellar tendinitis.
