Can the Pelicans Compete with the Warriors?

Warriors NBA Playoffs 2018

Warriors Look to Get Ahead of Dangerous Pelicans

Round two of the NBA playoffs gets under way this weekend for both the Pelicans and the current NBA Champion Golden State Warriors. This series is destined to be fun and it will no doubt bring out the best in more than a few superstars of the game.

Head coach for the Warriors, Steve Kerr says that Steph Curry is still questionable for game 1 against the Pelicans so his presence in this game looks doubtful.

How good are the Warriors? Extremely good and nearly unbeatable with Curry. The Warriors haven’t missed a beat in this year’s playoffs and they flexed their muscles against the Spurs, winning the series 4-1. Now in fairness to the Spurs they were without their best player in Kawhi Leonard.

LaMarcus Aldridge is a great player but not built to go it alone, especially against a team with the depth of the Warriors.

Without laying it on too thick, because neutrality is the name of the game, the Warriors overwhelm teams. They go about their business in a well-polished manner and they look slick doing it. No Curry, no problem. This team overcomes adversity and gets the job done.

What Kevin Durant has done is take this team on his back and will them to victory and the role players like Klay Thompson have stepped up huge. Kevin Durant was easily the MVP against the Spurs and he will be a huge factor again against the Pelicans.

The Pelicans are not exactly bums, no way. They are a solid basketball team they will come after their opponent from every corner of the floor. They shoot the three, they are great rebounders both defensive and offensive.

They get after it in the paint and they will make defenders look foolish one on one. They handle the ball well and they shoot from the field very well-48.3% compared to the Warriors at 50.3%.

The warriors are scoring 113.5 ppg and giving up 96.8 ppg. The Pelicans are scoring 111.7 ppg and giving up 105.5 ppg. The differential on defense is significant and could play a huge factor in this series; it will play a huge factor in this series and could very well be the difference for the Warriors. The Warriors have found defense and that’s scary.

They are scary without it and now that they have it!

The Pelicans surprised everyone with the series sweep over the Portland Trail Blazers and they didn’t just sort of smack the Blazers they bullied them. Between Davis and Rondo, this team has stepped up and answered the call for the faithful in New Orleans.

Will it be enough? That remains to be seen. There is no doubt that they belong and they have earned their stripes to this point.

This series is going to be a fun one to bet on so dust off your gambling hat and saddle up. Get the money in to your sports gambling service provider and be ready for some fast paced NBA Playoff action. It’s going to be a ride.
