PGA Tour Golf -- Ft. Worth Invitational a Look Ahead to U.S. Open and More!!!

PGA Tour Fort Worth Invitational

Fort Worth Invitational Gives PGA Tour Fans Look at US Open

The U.S. Open is less than a month away and for many, the Ft. Worth Invitational is a warm-up. Don’t misunderstand, Colonial is a very competitive tournament and will be hard fought all weekend long. At the end of the opening round on Thursday Kevin Na found himself atop the leaderboard with a 62 and a 1 shot lead.

Bettors Finding Balance Between NHL, MLB and NBA

Thursday was a great day of golf and the leaderboard is jam packed.

Tentative Top 10 Leaderboard:

1 Kevin Na -8

2 Charley Hoffman -7

T3 Emiliano Grillo -6

T3 Jhonattan Vegas -6

T3 Andrew Putnam -6

T3 Beau Hossler -6

7 Steve Stricker -5

T8 Ben Martin -5

T8 Kevin Tway -4

T8 Shawn Stefani -4

The crowd at the top is much too long to list, it’s jam packed and Fridays action is sure to yield a huge difference at the end of the day. The interesting thing about this list is the odds to win this tournament. There is not one top ten from the leaderboard that is favored in the Las Vegas top ten-odds to win.

Check out the current top ten odds on to win:

Jordan Speith 9/1

John Rahm 14/1

Justin Rose 18/1

Webb Simpson 18/1

Rickie Fowler 20/1

Matt Kuchar 25/1

Aaron Wise 28/1

Adam Scott 28/1

Jimmy Walker 28/1

Brooks Koepka 28/1

Top PGA Tour Names Not on List

There are two names missing from this list that really stand out after the opening round. Kevin Na, simply because he shot a 62 and is the current leader at -1 and the other would be Steve Stricker who is number 7 on the leaderboard. Kevin Na opened the day at 55/1 odds to win this tournament and Stricker at 66/1. Check with your favorite online bookmaker for the current odds.

In golf anything can happen and odds are that NA will not hang on, but what if he does? Vegas is often wrong on golf odds. They simply don’t invest the kind of time necessary to handicapping this sport. They love big names such as Tiger and Phil but at the end of the day, how many tournaments have Tiger and Phil won lately? Neither of these two are playing in this one. Stricker is the standout that has the experience and experience down the stretch will count, it will go a very long ways. Stricker is a fantastic buy at whatever price you can get him for.

Kevin Na turned pro in 2001 and has only won four times and only once on the PGA tour. He has had some good tournaments and finished 12th in the Masters-2012, and 2015. He finished 7th in the 2016 U.S. Open, 22nd in The Open Championship (2016) and 10th in the PGA Championship, 2011.

Na plays consistently good golf and although he rarely wins, he makes the cut and he stays in contention. He might turn the corner in Ft. Worth. He has a shot and right now his toughest competition is Steve Stricker.

Find a bookie that offers head to head matchups and play Stricker and Na. Then look for the best odds on 5-10 players of choice and lay the numbers. In golf you never know and it’s a must to bet across the top ten and even beyond.

Four days is a long stretch of golf, can Na keep up the pace? He probably can. Shop around for the best odds and look for a sportsbook  that has a great reputation for fast payouts and great customer service. Most of all have fun betting and hopefully winning this weekend.
