Atlanta Braves Played Most Road Games in MLB



The New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves will meet on Tuesday at SunTrust Park in Atlanta. The Mets have been looking to get out of the city of New York, and the Braves welcome a long home stand. They have played the most road games in MLB so far this season. The Mets had lost 10 straight at home.

Right hander Zack Wheeler will take the mound for the Mets to start this game. Wheeler is 2-4 this season with a 4.57 ERA.

Wheeler's opponent in this one will be Mike Foltynewicz. The Braves right hander has a 2.31 ERA to go along with a 5-4 record this season.

Foltynewicz had the best game of his career in his most recent start in Atlanta. He pitched a two-hit shutout against the Nationals on June 1. Folty striuck out 11 and walked one.

Foltynewicz was 3-1 with a 0.56 ERA in a five-start stretch after blanking Washington. He struggled with location through five innings in a loss at San Diego on Wednesday. Folty is still looking for consistency.

Mets are in a Freefall



The Mets have been in a free fall since starting the season 11-1. They hope to get things back on track away from the pressures of New York during a 10-game road trip.

Wheeler allowed just three hits in seven scoreless innings against Baltimore on Wednesday in New York. He got a no-decision in the loss.

The Mets scored one run while being swept in a three-game series by the Orioles. They scored only 12 runs in the 1-8 homestand.

Wheeler missed the 2015 and 2016 seasons after Tommy John elbow surgery. He will be facing the Braves for the first time since be threw six scoreless innings against them at old Turner Field on Sept. 19, 2014. Wheeler is 4-2 with a 2.94 ERA in eight career starts against his hometown team.

Wheeler started the season in the minors. He has three quality starts in his last four outings while posting a 2.52 ERA during that stretch.
