NFL Odds: Denver Broncos Host Falcons in Offense Versus Defense Battle - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on Broncos Football

Falcons High Flying Offense vs. Denver Defense

The
Denver Broncos defense has picked up where it left off after last
season’s run to the Super Bowl. They’ll face a tough test on Sunday when
they host the high-flying Atlanta Falcons, who lead the NFL in points
per game (38).

 The
Falcons are now 3-1 after a 48-33 win over Carolina at home in which
Falcons QB Matt Ryan threw for 503 yards and four touchdowns. WR Julio
Jones caught 12 of those passes, including one for a touchdown; he
racked up 300 yards on the day. The Falcons have now scored 93 points in
their last two games.

 After
earning a 27-7 win in Tampa Bay, the Denver Broncos are one of three
undefeated teams left in the NFL (along with Philadelphia and
Minnesota). Rookie Paxton Lynch filled in admirably for the injured
starter Trevor Siemian, passing for 170 yards and a touchdown. The
defense held the Buccaneers to 215 yards while forcing three turnovers.

Denver
opened is a 6-point favourite for this contest, but is now only a
4.5-point favorite. The total for this game is now at 47. The Denver
Broncos are 3-2 SU and ATS in their last five meetings with Atlanta, and
the Falcons are 2-3 SU and 2-2 ATS in four trips to Denver since 1982.

The Atlanta Falcons are 3-point dogs faves as they battle the Panthers - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on Falcons Football

Falcons and Panthers Battle for NFC South Lead

If familiarity breeds contempt, there should be animosity aplenty on
Sunday when the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons meet at
Georgia Dome.  They will be battling for the early season division lead
as the Panthers are off to a shockingly slow start.

Oddsmakers currently have the Panthers listed as 3-point favorites versus the Falcons, while the game’s total is sitting at 49.

The Atlanta Falcons were a 45-32 winner in their most recent outing
on the road against the New Orleans Saints. They covered the +2.5-point
spread as underdogs, while the total score (77) made winners of OVER
bettors.

Carolina lost its last outing, a 22-10 result against the Minnesota
Vikings on September 25. The Panthers failed to cover in that game as a
-6-point favorite, while the 32 combined points took the game UNDER the
total.

Carolina Panthers:

Team record: 1-2 SU,1-2 ATS

Carolina is 18-4 SU in its last 22 games

The total has gone OVER in 5 of Carolina’s last 7 games

Carolina is 0-5 ATS in its last 5 games on the road

Atlanta Falcons:

Team record: 2-1 SU,2-1 ATS

Atlanta is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games

Atlanta is 4-11 ATS in its last 15 games

NFL Preseason Week 3 Preview & Free Pick- Atlanta at Miami - Handicappers Hideaway

In a nationally broadcast matchup on NBC this Thursday night, the
Atlanta Falcons will go on the road to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 3
of NFL preseason. BetAnySports has opened the Dolphins as 2.5-point home favorites and the betting line for the total has been set at 43.5.

The Falcons come into this game with a perfect 2-0 record in the
preseason both straight-up and against the spread. They started things
off with a 23-17 victory against Washington as three-point home
favorites and last Thursday they beat Cleveland 24-13 as one-point
underdogs on the road. The total went OVER BetAnySports’ closing
37-point line against the Redskins and its stayed UNDER 38.5 points
against the Browns.

Matt Ryan has been limited to just six completions for 78 yards on 15
passes in his first two preseason games, but it what will be the closest
thing to an actual game-like situation, he should see at least one half
of playing time this Thursday night. We should also get a good look at
Devonte Freeman running the ball after leading the team with 1,056
rushing yards on 265 carries in the 2015 regular season.

Miami has faced a pair of NFC East teams in its first two preseason
games starting with a 27-10 victory over the New York Giants in Week 1
as a one-point road underdog. This past Friday, the Dolphins lost to
Dallas 41-14 on the road in a game that closed as a PICK with
BetAnySports. The total ended as a PUSH in the game against New York and
it went well OVER the 41-point line against the Cowboys.

When fifth-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill was under center for Miami in
last week’s game he was able to move the ball down the field against
Dallas through the air. He put the ball up 20 times in that game and
completed 12 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Running backs
Isaiah Pead and Daniel Thomas combined for 78 yards on 11 carries and
Kenny Stills was the team’s leading receiver with three receptions for
71 yards and two scores. Running back Arian Foster is also part of the
mix on Miami’s offense and he should see some additional playing time in
this game.

Both team’s starters should remain in the game into the second half
giving the slight edge to Atlanta as the better overall ball club right
now. I will take the Falcons and the 2.5 points on BetAnySports’ betting line for this game as my “best bet” pick.

NFL Week 14 Preview & Pick: Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers - Handicappers Hideaway

http://betanysports.eu/hh30/

The 6-6 Atlanta Falcons will try and stop the 12-0 Carolina Panthers’
current winning streak this Sunday, while at the same time putting the
brakes on their current five-game losing streak. BetAnySports
has listed the Panthers as 8.5-point home favorites in this NFC South
Division tilt and the betting odds for the total have been set at 46.

Atlanta’s perfect 5-0 straight-up start with a 4-1 record against the
spread has quickly become a faded memory following five SU losses
including a 23-19 setback against Tampa Bay this past Sunday as a
one-point road underdog. The Falcons have now failed to cover against
the spread in their last eight games and the total has stayed UNDER in
their last six outings.

It could be hard to turn things around with an offense that has only
scored more than 20 points in one of its last five games and that was in
a 24-21 loss to Indianapolis. This past Sunday against the Buccaneers,
Atlanta could only manage 333 yards of total offense including just 64
yards on the ground. The only thing keeping the Falcons in the game
during this slide has been a defense that is holding teams to 21.4
points a game.

At the other end of the spectrum in the NFC South are the high-flying
Panthers, who are coming off a wild 41-38 last minute win against New
Orleans as 5.5-point road favorites on BetAnySports’ closing betting
line. Despite failing to cover in that game, they are still a very
profitable 9-3 ATS on the year. The total went OVER the closing
50.5-point line against New Orleans and it has now gone OVER in five of
their last six games.

Carolina’s offense led by MVP candidate Cam Newton continues to fire on
all cylinders heading into the stretch run of the NFL regular season. He
passed for 331 yards and five touchdowns in this past Sunday’s win and
on the season he has thrown for 2,797 yards and 25 scores while adding
another 476 yards and seven touchdowns with his legs. The Panthers’
defense was a bit loose in Sunday’s win, but on the year it is still
ranked third in the league in total yards allowed (313.3).

Giving up this many points in any division matchup carries some
additional risk, but while Carolina continues to show why it’s the best
team in the NFC right now, the Falcons are simply showing that the fast
start was just a fluke. Lay the 8.5-points on BetAnySports’ NFL betting
board with a play on Carolina in this matchup.

Current BAS Line: Panthers -7.5 and the total is 45

The NFC South and a Playoff Berth is on the Line as the Panthers and Falcons Battle in Atlanta

Betting on Atlanta Falcons Football

Divisional bragging rights will be on the line on Sunday when the
Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons meet at Georgia Dome.

Oddsmakers currently have the Falcons listed as 3-point favorites versus the Panthers, while the game’s total is sitting at 48.

The Falcons were a 30-14 winner in their most recent outing on the
road against the Saints. They covered the +6.5-point spread as
underdogs, while the total score (44) made winners of UNDER bettors.

In their last action, Carolina was a 17-13 winner at home against the
Browns. They failed to cover the -6-point spread as favorites, while
the combined score (30) was profitable news for UNDER bettors.

Packer Backers Open up their Coffers for Monday Night Football

Betting Online at Americas Bookie

Certain NFL spreads are not about unearthing the truth but to stop
the one sided flow of funds from happening. If Packer backers did not
need more incentive, the destruction of Brady at home has encouraged
their fans to speculate with investments outside of cheese futures. The
piggie banks and Christmas Club funds have all been taken out to bet
Green Bay on Monday Night. America’s Bookie is proud to examine the
Atlanta Falcons (5-7) attempt to not only win in Lambeau but decrease
the gross national product of US sports bettors this Monday Night.

Falcons Leaky Air Defense

Against mostly NFC south competition, the Atlanta Falcons have
provided friendly skies for teams to traverse up and down the field. 285
yards per game is expected to bloat even higher with Aaron Rodgers in
their sites. The ray of hope for this team has been their opportunistic
defense when it comes to turnovers. At least two interceptions in each
of their last four games has been the band aid necessary to stop drives.
Newton, Hoyer, McCown, and Stanton are notches below Aaron Rodgers so
it will be quite the accomplishment to keep the interception streak
alive.

Vertical Effectiveness

As elite level quarterbacks get long in the tooth, they learn the
value of the short passing game as a salve for their arm and to increase
offensive time of possession. While Rodgers could certainly go the
route of Peyton, he has opted to utilize his still formidable arm
strength to stretch defenses. 45 plays of over twenty yards still gives
the Pack jailbreak capability. Throw in Lacy’s 770 yards on the ground
and this is a true machine on offense. The multi dimensional aspects of
their offense will not be challenged by the Falcons unless bolstered by
inclement weather.

Monday night is the low twenties with forecast winds of ten miles per
hour. There might be snow during the day but the chances decrease
dramatically by game time. The question is what to do about the double
digit spread and wagering on a late number for the pack near fourteen.
The ATS this year is of no help as the Pack have not been double digit
favorites. 2014 has been the year of the Packers cover at home though.
If you want to risk that awful fourteen then the Packer backers have it
right. Your humble author is of the opinion that Green Bay will call off
the dogs because it will need every win to get into the playoffs in an
ultra competitive NFC. NFL Free Pick is Atlanta + 13 ½ on Monday
evening. Good fortune and America’s Bookie will be back next week at Handicapper’s Hideaway with another NFL free pick.

BetAnySports’ NFL Pick of the Week- Week 3– Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons – Thursday, Sept.18

Betting on Atlanta Falcons Football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons – Thursday, Sept.18

BetAnySports’ Current Line: Falcons -6 1/2 and the total is 44 1/2

Thursday Night Football in Week 3 of the new NFL season features a
NFC South showdown between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta
Falcons. Each is trying to get back to its winning ways after suffering a
setback this past Sunday. BetAnySports has opened the Falcons as
six-point home favorites on its initial NFL betting odds and the total
for the game is 44 1/2.

Tampa Bay is actually still looking for its first win of the year
after losing to Carolina 20-14 on opening day as a five-point home
favorite. The Buccaneers followed this up with a tough 19-17 loss to St.
Louis at home as 4.5-point favorites at home. This extended their
current losing streak to five games straight-up and they are also 0-5
against the spread in their last five outings.

Lovie Smith took over the helm as Tampa Bay’s new head coach this
season, but many of the same old problems with this offense continue to
rear their ugly head. The Buccaneers were ranked 30th in the league last
season in scoring with an average of 18 points a game and they have yet
to even hit that total this year. This is putting some tremendous
pressure on a defense that has already been on the field way too long.

The Falcons were the darlings of the NFC South in Week 1 with a
stunning 37-34 overtime victory over New Orleans as three-point home
underdogs. They went on the road this past Sunday as 5.5-point underdogs
against Cincinnati and looked the part with a 24-10 loss. This
Thursday’s game now becomes a crucial test for a team that went 13-3 SU
in 2012 only to fall to 4-12 last year.

Matt Ryan continues to throw the ball all over the field with an
NFL-high 679 passing yards, but this past Sunday against the Bengals he
only completed 54.5 percent of his 44 attempts and he was picked-off
three times. Atlanta struggled to run the ball with Steven Jackson
leading the way with just 46 yards on 11 carries and the offense only
managed 309 total yards after piling-up 568 yards against the Saints.

Both teams obviously had their problems last Sunday, but Tampa Bay
looks like its issues are going to drag for a few more games at the
least. Stick with Atlanta to bounce back with a big win at home that
easily covers BetAnySports’ six-point spread.

NFC Wildcard Preview: Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Giants

The fans at MetLife Stadium will be treated to a game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Giants when they take their seats on Sunday.

Oddsmakers currently have the Giants listed as 3-point favorites versus the Falcons, while the game's total is sitting at 48.

Atlanta won its last outing, a 45-24 result against the Buccaneers on January 1. The Falcons covered in that game as a 9.5-point favorite, while the 69 combined points took the game OVER the total.

The Giants were a 31-14 winner in their most recent outing at home against the Cowboys. They covered the 3?point spread as favorites, while the total score (45) made winners of UNDER bettors.

NFL Week 16 Betting Previews- Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints

Point spread: New Orleans -6.5

Total line: 52.5

The Atlanta Falcons invade the Superdome this Monday night to take on the New Orleans Saints in a NFC South clash that has huge playoff implications for both teams. The kick-off is slated for 8:30 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Atlanta comes into this game not only looking to keep the division race alive, but to avenge a painful 26-23 overtime loss to the Saints as a one-point home favorite in Week 10 after a controversial fourth-down call set up the winning field goal. This game remains the difference between the two teams as the Falcons are 9-5 straight-up and 6-7-1 against the spread. The total has stayed ?under? in nine of their 14 games this year.

The Falcons may have found some offense just in time after rolling-up 72 points in their last two games against Carolina and Jacksonville. Matt Ryan has thrown seven touchdowns and zero interceptions over the past two weeks after playing his worst game of the year the week before in Atlanta?s 17-10 loss to Houston as a one-point road favorite.

New Orleans has parlayed the first win over the Falcons into a six-game winning streak that has run its record to 11-3 SU (10-4 ATS). A win on Monday night would not only clinch the South, it would keep it in the running with the 49ers for the No.2 seed in the NFC. The total has gone an even 7-7 in its 14 games this season.

Much of the Saints? success this year can be directly attributed to the play of Drew Brees. He leads the NFL in passing yards with 4,780 while completing an incredible 71.5 percent of his throws. Brees has 37 touchdowns verse 11 interceptions and an overall passer rating of 109.1. He has been on fire the past four weeks with 14 touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Falcons are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games against the NFC and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as road underdogs. The total has stayed ?under? in eight of their last 10 games overall.

The Saints are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against the NFC and 6-0 ATS in their last six games as home favorites. The total has stayed ?under? in 13 of their last 16 games against the NFC South.

Head-to-head in this series, the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five games and the underdog is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. The total has stayed ?under? in three of the last four games between the two.

Both teams fully understand the importance of this game to their postseason plans, so the margin for error remains slim. This should result in a close game that once again goes down to the wire. The Saints get the win at home, but stick with Atlanta to cover with the 6.5 points.

NFL Odds: With NFC Wild Card Available, Falcons Visit Jaguars Desperate for Win

It took a 24-point second half in their Week 14 matchup on Sunday, but the Atlanta Falcons eventually clawed their way to a comeback victory over the Carolina Panthers and put themselves back in the conversation as a possible NFC playoff contender.

Get exact NFL odds for the postseason with Bovada Sportsbook.

Though they've seen the New Orleans Saints pull out in front of the NFC South and stay there, hope remains for the 8-5 Falcons to sneak in to the extra season through a wild card berth. In order to do so though they'll have to continue capitalizing on winnable games.

This Thursday, in a primetime Week 15 affair, the Falcons will match up against the 4-9 Jacksonville Jaguars. Though the Matt Ryan-led contingent isn?t about to guarantee a championship any time soon, their odds of winning the Super Bowl would likely jump with a second consecutive win at this point in the season.

Currently the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys stand as competition for the final two NFC berths.

Sadly for Falcons fans, the hometown Jaguars aren?t about to just roll over. Count on the tandem of Blaine Gabbert and Maurice Jones-Drew to power their squad on the NFL odds board, whether or not it will be enough.

With time running out in the regular season the pressure is on any and all clubs looking to reserve spots in the postseason. It starts now and will continue until the final whistle blows.

NFL Betting Previews- Philadelphia Eagles vs. Atlanta Falcons

Point spread: Philadelphia -2.5

Over/Under: 50

It will a battle of the birds this Sunday night when Michael Vick returns to the Georgia Dome with his Philadelphia Eagles to take on his old team, the Atlanta Falcons in a NFC clash between two division winners from a year ago. The kick-off is slated for 8:20 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on NBC.

Philadelphia got off to a solid start last week with a 31-13 victory over St. Louis as a 4.5-point road favorite. The total ended as a ?push? against a closing line of 44 points. Philadelphia gave up a 47-yard rushing touchdown to Steven Jackson on the Rams first play from scrimmage, but then settled down to build a 10-point lead at the half. The Eagles put the game away for good in the fourth quarter, when LeSean McCoy ripped-off a 49-yard run for a score.

Vick finished the game with 187 yards passing and 98 yards rushing as the Eagles torched St. Louis for over 400 yards of total offense.

Atlanta did not fare as well in its opener with a 30-12 loss to Chicago as a three-point road favorite. The total went ?over? the 40.5-point line. The Falcons? normally potent offense was held to just two field goals as their only touchdown in the game was a 54-yard interception return when the game had already been decided. Matt Ryan finished the day with 319 yards passing and Michael Turner had 100 yards rushing, but Atlanta could not find its way into the end zone.

The Eagles are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games as a road favorite and the total has gone ?over? in six of their last seven games on the road. The Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a home underdog and the total has gone ?over? in nine of their last 13 games overall.

Head-to-head, Philadelphia is 9-2-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall and 4-1-1 ATS in the last six games in Atlanta. The total has stayed ?under? in seven of the last eight games overall and in the last five meetings here.

This will be Michael Vick?s first appearance in the Georgia Dome as a starter since his days in Atlanta, but do not expect the crowd to welcome him back with open arms. The thing to expect is another big night from this Eagles? offense to pin the Falcons into an early 0-2 hole.

The Pick: Philadelphia 34 Atlanta 21
