NFL Preseason Pick of the Week : New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens- Thursday, Aug. 13 - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on Ravens NFL Football

BetAnySports’ NFL Preseason Pick of the Week

New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens- Thursday, Aug. 13

The New Orleans Saints will return to action in preseason football this
Thursday night with a trip to M&T Bank Stadium to face the Baltimore
Ravens. BetAnySports
listed the opening number on the Ravens as three-point home favorites
with the total set at 37.5.  The current line is now Baltimore as a 2
1/2-point favorite and the total now is sitting at 38.

This will be the third meeting between these two teams in the last two
years after they faced one another both in the preseason and regular
season in 2014. The Ravens came out on top both times starting with a
22-13 victory in late August as three-point road underdogs. The total
stayed UNDER the closing 41.5-point line. They went on to beat the
Saints again 34-27 as 2.5-point underdogs on the road. The total went
OVER BetAnySports’ closing 50.5-point line in that game.

The Saints went 7-9 straight-up last season to finish second in the NFC
South. It was just the second time in the last six seasons that New
Orleans failed to make it into the postseason. With Drew Brees at the
helm as quarterback, the offense put up some big numbers in 2014. This
unit led the NFL in both total yards and passing yards and it was ranked
ninth in scoring with an average of 25.1 points a game. The stats on
the other side of the ball were a whole other story with New Orleans
ranked 31st in the league in total yards allowed. This unit gave-up an
average of 26.5 points a game.

The Ravens’ SU 10-6 record last year was good enough to earn a wildcard
spot in the playoffs, but they bowed-out in the Divisional Round in a
35-31 loss to New England as seven-point road underdogs. This followed a
stunning 30-17 upset of rival Pittsburgh as three-point underdogs on
the road in the opening round of the postseason.

Baltimore was ranked 12th in total yards and eighth in scoring with Joe
Flacco under center. Once again, the Ravens’ primary strength was on the
other side of the ball on defense. This unit allowed just 18.9 points,
which was sixth-best in the NFL.

You would have to think it will be a short night for both Brees and
Flacco in this preseason opener for both teams. Stick with the Ravens to
run their current winning streak in this matchup to four games while
covering BetAnySports’ 2 1/2-point spread.

NFL Preview: Baltimore Ravens vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Predictions and Review

Betting Online at Americas Bookie

The Ravens limping into this matchup vs the Buccaneers after a heart
breaking loss to the Indianapolis Colts after leading in the third
quarter. The Buccaneers on the other foot posted a loss to the New
Orleans Saints after not being able to withhold the offensive explosion
provided from the Saints. This is a must win for both teams and within
this review I will provide predictions and analysis related to the game.

For A Baltimore Ravens Victory

The Ravens need to get back into team status mode after the loss
against the Colts. The 3 and 2 Ravens needs to continue attacking the
questionable defense against the Buccaneers currently operate on. If the
Ravens can continue to win the time of possession and keep a steady
running game they should win this matchup.

For A Tampa Bay Buccaneers Victory

Tampa Bay will need to play tough nose football and win the turnover
ratio in this game. If the defense can contain Joe Flacco from running
around in the pocket and contain him to reasonable attempts they have a
great chance on pulling out a victory.

Game time Info

On Sunday at 1 Pm Eastern time the game may be viewed on CBS or
locally in Tampa Bay. The weather is predicted to be around 88 degrees
with a small chance of occasional rain.

Baltimore Ravens vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prediction

These kind of matchups are what sports prediction handicappers like
myself thrive on. Although on paper the game appears to be one sided I
tend to think the opposite in this particular matchup. Take the 1 and 4
buccaneers and the +3 against the Ravens. The Buccaneers are not a low
caliber team they just need time to fix the mess they put themselves in.
I specialize in matchups like this and see extreme value in the +3 line
offered from the bookmakers. This a particular field of study I
maximize myself in and confident of such win.

BetAnySports’ NFL Pick of the Week- Week 2: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens – Thursday, Sept.11

Betting on Ravens NFL Football

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens – Thursday, Sept.11

It is only Week 2 of the new NFL regular season and the Baltimore
Ravens could be facing a must-win situation this Thursday night when
they play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a classic AFC North rivalry
game. BetAnySports
has opened the Steelers as slight 2.5-point road underdogs on its
opening NFL betting odds and the total for the game has been set at 44.

Pittsburgh appeared to be cruising to an easy victory against
Cleveland this past Sunday as a 5.5-point home favorite in its season
opener, but it had to eventually sweat-out a 30-27 win that went right
down to the wire. The total easily went OVER the 41.5-point closing line
and it has now gone OVER in five of the Steelers last six games.

Ben Roethlisberger passed for 365 yards while completing 23-of-34
attempts and running back Le’Veon Bell added another 109 yards and a
score on the ground on 21 carries. The big question mark heading into
Thursday’s matchup is which Pittsburgh defense is going to show up? The
one that held the Browns to three points in the first half or the one
that gave-up 24 points in the final two quarters.

Baltimore got off to a painfully slow start in its 23-16 loss to
Cincinnati on opening day. It closed as a one-point favorite at home and
the total stayed UNDER the 43.5-point line. After falling behind 15-0
on five Bengals’ field goals, the Ravens battled back to a one-point
lead only to let it slip away on a 77-yard touchdown throw from Andy
Dalton to AJ Green.

Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco put the ball up 62 times and he
completed 35 passes for 345 yards and a score on an 80-yard pass play to
Steve Smith. Baltimore’s Justin Forsett added 70 yards on the ground on
11 carries including a 13-yard run for a touchdown early in the second
half to finally put his team on the board.

When you think of this rivalry in the past, you would probably expect
another grinder that ends with both teams struggling to score points,
but given what we saw from each team’s quarterback as well as its
defense, I am going OVER BetAnySports’ 44-point total line as my
official pick in this game.

Baltimore Ravens (0-0) vs. Denver Broncos (0-0) Preview

The Broncos have had nearly eight months to overcome their stunning season-ending loss in January, one that extended the Ravens' surprising run to a Super Bowl championship. Now the Broncos have a chance to exact some revenge when they host the Ravens in the NFL season opener. Super Bowl champions usually open the season at home but the Ravens had a scheduling issue with the Orioles, who play Thursday night at Camden Yards. Peyton Manning had won nine straight games against the Ravens, including a 17-point rout a month earlier, before the Ravens' 38-35 double-overtime playoff victory.

Much has changed for both teams since Joe Flacco averted a certain defeat with a 70-yard tying touchdown strike to Jacoby Jones with 31 seconds to play in regulation. The Ravens undergone a dramatic roster overhaul, with future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis retiring, perennial Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed lost to the Texans via free agency and the trade of Super Bowl hero Anquan Boldin to the 49ers. Flacco became the league's highest-paid player while the Broncos added some key pieces to fortify Manning's offense.

Joe Flacco's regular season numbers were ordinary (3,817 yards with 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions) but he was off the charts in the postseason with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions en route to winning Super Bowl MVP honors.

Torrey Smith heads an inexperienced receiving corps that suffered a jolt when starting tight end Dennis Pitta dislocated his hip, putting his season in jeopardy. Ray Rice has rushed for at least 1,143 yards in four straight seasons and leads all NFL running backs with 278 receptions during that span. The defending champions have question marks on a defense that surrendered nearly five points more per game last year than in the previous season.

Peyton Manning guided the Broncos to the No. 1 seed in the postseason and 11 consecutive wins to close the regular season after sitting out 2011 due to multiple neck surgeries. Manning's 37 touchdown passes and 4.659 yards last season were both the second-highest totals of his storied career.

Wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker both went over 1,000 yards and combined for 179 catches and 23 touchdowns and will be joined by Wes Welker, who had at least 111 catches in five of six seasons with the Patriots. Rookie running back Montee Ball set the FBS record for career touchdowns but will open the season as the backup to Ronnie Hillman. The Broncos also have a huge void to plug on defense after Von Miller was suspended six games for violating the league's drug policy.

NFL Week 6 Betting Previews-Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens

Point spread: Baltimore -7.5

Over/Under: 45

The Houston Texans head east this week for a Sunday afternoon showdown with the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in an AFC tilt between two division-leading teams. Game time is set for a 4:05 (p.m.) start and it will be broadcast regionally on CBS.

Houston will be looking to bounce back from a25-20 loss to Oakland as a 4.5-point home favorite in a game it let slip away down the stretch. The Texans are now 3-2 both straight-up and against the spread and tied with Tennessee atop the AFC South. The total stayed ?under? the 48.5-point line against the Raiders and has now stayed ?under? in four of five their games this season.

The main concern for this team is a rash of injuries to some of its best players on both sides of the ball. Linebacker Mario Williams has been lost for the season with a torn muscle in his chest and wide receiver Andre Johnson remains doubtful with a strained hamstring. Quarterback Matt Schaub is also a bit nicked-up but should be ready to go by Sunday.

Baltimore should be well-rested and raring to go after coming off a bye. It went into its bye week with a huge 34-17 win over the New York Jets as a five-point home favorite to run its record to 3-1 SU and ATS. The total has gone ?over? in all four of its games.

The Ravens have vaulted to the top of the AFC North behind an offense that is ranked sixth in the NFL in scoring with an average of 29.8 points a game to go along with a defense that is ranked first in points allowed; giving up an average of just 14.2 points a game. Cornerback Jimmy Smith is still out with an ankle injury, but the Ravens should get wide receiver Lee Evans back after missing two games with an ankle injury of his own.

The Texans are 1-5 ATS in their last six games as road underdogs and the total has gone ?over? in five of their last seven road games. The Ravens are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a bye week and 4-1 ATS in their last five games as favorites. The total has gone ?over? in three of their last four home games.

This game is shaping-up as a seven-point Baltimore victory, so grab the Texans and the half-point to squeeze out a win ATS.

The Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers will meet on the gridiron at Heinz Field on Saturday in a battle of division rivals.

Oddsmakers currently have the Steelers listed as 3-point favorites versus the Ravens, while the game's total is sitting at 37.

In their last action, Pittsburgh was a 41-9 winner on the road against the Browns. They covered the 6.5?point spread as favorites, while the combined score (50) was profitable news for OVER bettors.
