NFL Odds: Cowboys Ride Hot Quarterback into Lambeau - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on Dallas Cowboys Football

Prescott Looks to Keep Rolling

The Dallas Cowboys were staring at another lost season without QB
Tony Romo, but with rookie Dak Prescott at the helm, they carry a 4-1 SU
and ATS record into Sunday’s matchup (4:25 PM ET, FOX) with the Green
Bay Packers. Despite the strong start, Dallas is a 6-point road dog
right now, with a total of 47 points on the NFL Odds board.

Prescott (seven combined TDs, zero INTs) is second in the league with
an 83.9 QBR through Week 5, two spots ahead of his Green Bay
counterpart, two-time MVP Aaron Rodgers (79.4 QBR). The Cowboys have
also gotten quality play from rookie RB Ezekiel Elliott, who has
scampered for five touchdowns on 5.0 yards per carry and leads the NFL
with 546 yards rushing.

The Packers (3-1 SU, 2-1-1 ATS) had the early bye in Week 4, so
they’ll be the fresher team at Lambeau Field. However, Green Bay’s pass
defense hasn’t been very good this year, and CB Sam Shields has yet to
practice since suffering a concussion in the season opener. Sunday’s
weather forecast calls for clear skies over Lambeau with temperatures in
the low 60s at kick-off.

Betting on Eagles Football

The Cowboys (1-0) and Eagles (0-1) battle in the marquee 4 pm match up in NFL Week #2 action

The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles will meet on the
gridiron at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday in a battle of division
rivals.

Oddsmakers currently have the Eagles listed as 7-point favorites versus the Cowboys, while the game’s total is sitting at 54½.

The Eagles were a 26-24 loser in their most recent outing on the road
against the Falcons. They failed to cover the -3.5-point spread as
favorites, while the total score (50) made winners of UNDER bettors.

Dallas was a 27-26 winner in its last match at home against the
Giants. They failed to cover the -7-point spread as favorites, while the
total score of 53 sent OVER bettors to the payout window.

Dallas:

BetAnySports’ NFL Pick of the Week- Divisional Round Playoffs: Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers – Sunday, Jan. 11

Betting on Green Bay Packers Football

Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers – Sunday, Jan. 11

Current BAS’ Line: Packers -5 1/2 and the total is sitting at 52

A trip to the NFC title game is on the line this Sunday afternoon at
Lambeau Field when the Dallas Cowboys butt heads with the Green Bay
Packers in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs. BetAnySports has opened Green Bay as a 6.5-point home favorite and the total line has been set at 53.

Dallas is riding a straight-up five-game winning streak into this
matchup, but it did fail to cover as a six-point home favorite in a
controversial 24-20 victory against Detroit in the Wild Card Round. The
yellow flags consistently went the Cowboys’ way whether they were being
thrown or picked-up, but you still have to credit Tony Romo for
coming-up with a couple of clutch plays when his team needed them the
most.

Romo completed just three passes to Terrance Williams against the
Lions, but two of them went for scores to help seal the win. DeMarco
Murray was pretty much held in check for most of the game, but he still
managed to gain 75 yards on 18 carries. Also credit the Cowboys’ defense
for keeping Detroit wide receiver Calvin Johnson out of the end zone in
Sunday’s win.

Green Bay enjoyed the week off after beating Detroit 30-20 as
eight-point home favorites in the final week of the regular season to
lock-up the NFC North title and the No. 2 seed in the conference. The
Packers went 7-1 SU down the stretch with a 5-3 record ATS. The total
went OVER BetAnySports’ closing 46.5-point line against Detroit after
staying UNDER in four of their previous five outings.

There has been quite a bit of talk about Romo’s chances to win this
season’s MVP award, but the leading candidate plays the same position in
Green Bay. As Aaron Rodgers goes so goes the Packers’ offense and
coming into this matchup this unit is ranked sixth in the NFL in total
yards per game (386.1) and first in scoring with an average of 30.4
points.

There has to be some concern with the Cowboys after posting a less
than stellar effort at home against a team they should have easily
rolled over. All the calls went their way in Sunday’s game and they
still needed some late-game heroics to get the win. This Sunday is going
to be a whole other story on the road as the Packers roll in this one
to cover BetAnySports’ 5.5-point betting odds.

BetAnySports’ NFL Pick of the Week- Week 15 — Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Betting on Eagles NFL Football

Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles – Sunday, Dec. 14

Current BAS’ Line: Eagles -3 1/2 and the total is 54 1/2

Sunday Night Football in Week 15 of the NFL Regular season features a
huge showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles
with first-place in the NFC East on the line. BetAnySports has opened the Eagles as 3.5-point home favorites with the NFL betting odds on the total set at 55.5.

The Cowboys came up well short in the first meeting this season on
Thanksgiving Day in a 33-10 loss as three-point home favorites. The
total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ 56.5-point betting line in that game.
After bouncing back last Thursday with a 41-28 victory against Chicago
as 3.5-point road favorites, Dallas is now 9-4 straight-up on the year
with a 7-6 record against the spread. The total has gone OVER in three
of its last four games.

The formula for evening the score this Sunday night is pretty simple;
hand the ball off or throw it to DeMarco Murray. After being held to 73
rushing yards in the loss to Philadelphia, he exploded for 179 yards on
the ground and 49 yards catching the ball against the Bears. Tony Romo
only had to put the ball up 26 times and he completed 21 passes for 205
yards and three touchdowns.

Philadelphia took a step backwards in the NFC playoff race with this
past Sunday’s 24-14 loss to Seattle as a 1.5-point underdog at home. The
9-4 Eagles both SU and ATS have to be thrilled they are done playing
the NFC West after going 1-3 both SU and ATS against that division this
year. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 48-point line against
the Seahawks after going OVER in four of their previous five outings.

If the Eagles are going to pull-off the season sweep, they are going to
need a big effort from their featured running back LeSean McCoy. He
piled-up 159 rushing yards on 25 carries in the first game against
Dallas, but he could only manage 50 yards on 17 attempts against a
stingy Seattle defense his last time out. Mark Sanchez continues to
start at quarterback for an injured Nick Foles and he continues to prove
that this team cannot win games with a heavy dose of him throwing the
ball.

BetAnySports
has once again set an inflated total for this game based on the way
both teams can put up points, but the recent trends in this divisional
showdown heavily favor a lower scoring game than expected. I am riding
these betting trends on Sunday night with a play on the UNDER 54.5.

Recharged Cowboys Face Dominant Patriots on NFL Odds Board

A cross-conference tilt will pit two of the game?s highest profile quarterbacks against each other this Sunday, as the New England Patriots host the Dallas Cowboys as favorites on the NFL odds board.

Fresh off a pair of wins, and with a 4-1 record, it's hard not to lean towards Tom Brady and the Pats over a Cowboys team struggling to keep Tony Romo on the field. Unless the bye week in Week 5 was enough to nurse the hobbled quarterback completely back to health, we may see some similar themes continue in Week 6.

According to Bodog?s online sportsbook, the Cowboys have just 30/1 odds of winning the Super Bowl. Had it not been for the constant concern over the man under center, or Dallas' early sub-par record against less-than-impressive opponents, the mark might be slightly higher, but even when the Cowboys have won, it hasn't been convincing.

In Dallas' two victories (over San Francisco and Washington), they held a combined five-point advantage (with a net point differential of -2 through Week 5), meanwhile, the Patriots have rattled off four touchdown-or-more victories in five contest for a point differential of 46. There's a reason they have 4/1 odds on the NFL futures board while Dallas struggles to stay relevant.

If the Cowboys can somehow solve Brady while successfully keeping Romo in one piece, a victory could essentially redefine their season - especially in the unpredictable NFC East where even the Philadelphia Eagles are 1-4.

NFL Betting Preview - Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Jets

Point spread: New York -4

Over/Under: 40.5

The Dallas Cowboys will look to start this season on a winning note when they take on the New York Jets on Sunday night at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. The game is slated to start at 8:20 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on NBC.

Last season did not go anywhere near as planned for Dallas after a 1-6 start completely derailed this team. Jason Garrett was promoted to head coach and helped corral the Cowboys to a 6-10 finish. Heading into this season, he is confident this team has what it takes to return to the top of the NFC East.

Having Tony Romo back as his starting quarterback will definitely help after he missed the final 10 games of the year with a broken collar bone. Also back is wide receiver Dez Bryant, who went down with a broken ankle in early November. Throw in Miles Austin and Jason Witten in the passing game and Felix Jones and Tashard Choice running the ball and this team should be able to put some points on the board.

New York, under head coach Rex Ryan, have been all about creating a solid rushing attack and a shutdown defense. This has gotten the Jets to two straight AFC Championship games, but they will need better production from third-year quarterback Mark Sanchez in order to take the next step. He has managed the game well, but has yet to show the ability to put this team on his back and carry it to a championship.

The first step would be to improve upon a 54.8 completion percentage that is just not getting the job done. Fortunately, Sanchez will have wide receiver Santonio Holmes back as well as Plaxico Burress to try and improve these numbers. The Jets also have that running game to fall back on, led by Shonn Greene and rookie Bilal Powell.

Dallas is 5-0 against the spread in its last five games as an underdog and the total has gone ?over? in six of its last seven games as a dog.

New York is 4-9 ATS in its last 13 games as a favorite of 3.5 points or more. The total has gone ?over? in seven of its last 10 games as a favorite.

Romo could struggle in his first game back after the long layoff, but the Cowboys keep things close enough to cover the four points in a game that stays ?under? the total.

The Pick: New York 17 Dallas 16
