College Football Odds Favor Oklahoma Heavily in Looming Insight Bowl

The Oklahoma Sooners may not be competing in the bowl they set out for in preseason, but that doesn't mean they won't be ready to go at kickoff against the Iowa Hawkeyes this Friday.

Get all your college football betting lines at Bovada.

The Sooners are obvious favorites to win the Dec. 30 Insight Bowl with a -14 point spread according to Bovada's NCAA football odds makers. The question is, can they follow through?

If Landry Jones and Oklahoma's high-powered passing game can cover the spread they Sooners may just show that their 2011 campaign hasn?t been a complete disappointment.

On the other side of the ball, the Hawkeyes - who likely never thought they would be matching up with Oklahoma at season's end - will look to junior James Vandenberg for an early advantage.

Iowa showed signs of success with a big victory over Michigan in November, but otherwise struggled against top competition. Will that change in their biggest game of the year?

Just last season the Hawkeyes walked away from this very bowl with a victory over Missouri, while the Sooners were busy knocking off Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl.

This year, having finished the season ranked No. 14 in the BCS standings, they'll look to make the most of what's available after dropping an unexpected trio of regular season games.

They've taken different paths to get here, but only one can end their season happy.

The stage is set.

Bet the bowls with Bovada.
