NCAA Basketball Betting: Newly-Appointed No. 1 Syracuse in Action

The Syracuse Orange will try their luck as the nation's No. 1 this Saturday when they settle in at home against the No. 20-ranked Marquette Golden Eagles. The slow and steady Orange have already climbed both the polls and college basketball betting lines with an undefeated record.

Bet on NCAA basketball using Bovada's online sportsbook today.

Though they may not have the star power of Kentucky or Ohio State, it hasn't seemed to affect them at this point in the season. Can the Big 12 leader continue to rely on a senior swingman from Canada for the remainder of the year?

Prior to the Saturday showdown against Marquette, the Orange will have faced all of Seton Hall, Depaul and Providence in their conference, just enough relatively wins to hit their next opponent in stride.

But is a win over Marquette inevitable at this point? Don't be so sure. They may not be perfect like the upstate New York Orange, but after knocking off No. 7 Wisconsin earlier in the year, Marquette has proven themselves a dark horse contender.

According to Bovada, both programs ought to factor into the National Tournament, and their odds of winning March Madness come down to how they'll handle conference play over these next few months.

There's no better way of securing a top-tournament seed like coming up big against tough opponents in the regular season.

Legends in the making.
