College Basketball Odds: Kentucky-Wisconsin at Final Four - Handicappers Hideaway

College Basketball Odds: Kentucky-Wisconsin at Final Four

It almost didn’t happen, but the Kentucky Wildcats are in the Final
Four. They edged past the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+11) 68-66 to run
their undefeated record to 38-0 (19-17-2 ATS). But the Wildcats are only
1-3 ATS at the Big Dance, and this Saturday, they’re giving five
points to the Wisconsin Badgers (35-3 SU, 20-17-1 ATS) as we go to
press.

Bet on college basketball at Bovada and get a 50% welcome bonus.

It’s difficult to find any betting value on any undefeated team. This
spot is even tougher for chalkeaters; Wisconsin has the top-ranked
offense in Division I according to Ken Pomeroy’s advanced stats. The
Badgers also employ one of the slowest offenses in college hoops. Fewer
possessions means fewer opportunities for Kentucky to build a big lead
and cover the spread.

If you’re a Kentucky supporter and you can’t bring yourself to fade the
‘Cats, there’s always the under. Kentucky is the best defensive team in
Division I, taking the under to the pay window in three straight games
and 15 of its last 18 non-conference matchups. Slowpoke Wisconsin has
the under at 9-3 over the past dozen games against the SEC. Saturday’s
game (8:49 PM ET, TBS) has a total of 132 at press time.

2014 Final Four Player Prop Bets & Alternate Lines

2014NCAA Tournament

“As expected, 60% of the action so far has come in on the Wildcats -2
vs. Wisconsin but I can’t see us moving that line unless the position
gets really

out of control. UConn and Florida have held pretty steady at -6 with
50/50 money so far, but from a futures perspective UConn remains a huge
winner for

the book while Florida is not such a great result. So there is no
doubt, we will be Huskies and Badgers here at the office come Saturday.”

College Basketball Odds: Streaking Florida Braces for Rematch with UCONN

2014NCAA Tournament

The Florida Gators were the consensus favorite heading into the Big
Dance and have shown nothing that would suggest otherwise over the
course of the first four games of tournament play. On Saturday they’ll
look to continue to follow through on their nation-leading college
basketball odds with a semifinal victory against the Connecticut
Huskies.

Bet on college basketball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Riding a 30-game win streak, it’s hard to consider any opponent
worthy of knocking off the Billy Donovan-helmed ball club. In fact, the
last time Florida actually lost a game was back in early December. No
wonder they have -110 odds to win the NCAA Tournament.

But wait a minute, here’s where things get interesting. On December
2, before launching their season-making win streak, the Gators fell to
an unlikely foe: the Connecticut Huskies.

Now with a six-point advantage over UCONN, the Gators will have to
prove that they?re a better team now than they were early in the season.
Florida’s well-balanced offensive core means little if they can’t come
up with an answer for Huskies guard Shabazz Napier.

Napier, let’s not forget, hit the game winning jumper on that fateful December night.

Averaging 18.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game, Napier
is an NBA-bound swingman capable of dominating a basketball game. While
Florida may have established themselves as an overwhelmingly powerful
program capable of swallowing up entire teams, they’re going to have to
show that they can shut down individuals as well — especially those who
are stars in the making.

Don’t forget to bet on the Wisconsin-Kentucky clash to crown the winner of the other side of the bracket.

March Madness: Odds to win the Final Four and the M.O.P

2014 NCAA Tournament

“Kentucky remains a popular pick even at 5-2 and if the Wildcats
were to win it all would be our worst result from a futures perspective,
while UConn or Wisconsin cutting down the nets would be terrific for
the book. I expect our bettors to come in heavy on Kentucky -2 and can
see that line moving a touch if the action comes in as much as I expect.
With Florida -6, I would expect a little more balanced money with the
higher spread.”

College Basketball Odds: Underdog Volunteers Face Toughest Test Yet

2014 NCAA Tournament

The Tennessee Volunteers hope to continue to write themselves into
the Big Dance history books this week, after a long journey that?s
already spawned three stops throughout the NCAA Tournament. Can they
beat the college basketball odds all over again? This time against their
toughest opponent yet?

Bet on college basketball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Cast as +3 underdogs against the No. 2-seeded Michigan Wolverines,
the No. 11 Volunteers will have to aspire to new heights if they want to
keep their run alive. While the Vols have broken onto the national
scene this spring, they?ve done so with a play-in victory over Iowa, an
upset of little-known UMass and an emphatic win over a No. 14 seed ? not
exactly top caliber competition.

Is there any reason to believe that Tennessee can contend against a legitimate powerhouse?

The Michigan Wolverines have 16/1 odds of winning the NCAA Tournament
outright while the Vols sit considerably further down the list at 28/1.
It?s Michigan that boasts the personnel advantage as well with Nik
Stauskas? 16.0 points per game pacing a well-balanced attack.

Can Tennessee exploit the fact that Michigan?s big man Mitch McGary
remains on the sidelines after a heroic tournament performance in 2013?
Jarnell Stokes may be able to; he is a 15.2 point, 10.7 rebound-per-game
threat for the underdogs and one that dropped 26 and 14 in their first
round slaying of Massachusetts.

NCAA Basketball: Sweet Sixteen Prop Bets

2014 NCAA Tournament

“With Kentucky’s upset over Wichita State, we have seen quite a bit of
support for Kentucky on the odds to win it all and they’re now down to
14-1

after opening the tournament at 33-1. What I am surprised about, is
how heavily our bettors are taking Kentucky getting 4.5 points against
Louisville

with 70% of the money on them. I’m pretty comfortable letting them bet it and becoming a Louisville fan for that game.”

NCAA Basketball Odds: Top-Ranked Florida Holds Course as Tourney Favorite

2014 NCAA Tournament

Leading the NCAA Tournament Futures is nothing new for the Florida
Gators, but now as they brace for a second week of madness, that coveted
championship is even more within reach. With 7/2 odds of winning the
Big Dance, Billy Donovan and company are ready to get to work.

Bet on college basketball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

No strangers to success in March, Florida stands apart from a hungry
tournament pack as one of the few contending juggernauts that didn?t
slip up in the first few rounds of NCAA postseason play.

Where once-contenders like Wichita State, Kansas and Villanova have
fallen, the Gators have done everything they can to convince skeptics
that they?re an NCAA Basketball betting option worth serious
consideration.

Betting on Florida, however, means that two fellow No. 1 seeds will
be left out in the cold (Arizona – 6/1, Virginia – 10/1). Think you know
how the best of the best will handle the later rounds of the beloved
bracket?

For other options, look no further than No. 4 seeds Michigan State
(9/2 NCAA odds) and Louisville (5/1). Yes, experience matters this time
of year, and these programs have it in abundance.
