NL Wild-Card Game: Bumgarner, Syndergaard Square Off for Giants-Mets - Handicappers Hideaway

2016 MLB Fall Classic

Bumgarner, Syndergaard Square Off for Giants-Mets

The National League wild-card game is set for Wednesday, and the New
York Mets will host the San Francisco Giants. A spot in the NLDS will be
on the line. The Mets won four of seven meetings with the Giants during
the regular season.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

The Giants go with Madison Bumgarner (15-9, 2.74 ERA), who went 7.1
innings in a 9-3 home win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in his last
start. Bumgarner scattered three runs with eight hits, striking out five
with a walk. Bumgarner, a former NLCS and World Series MVP as well as a
three-time World Series champion, won both starts against the Mets this
season, posting an ERA of 3.27. He’s tough to beat in the postseason,
with a 0.60 ERA in road playoff games. It shouldn’t be any different in
this wild-card game matchup.

The Mets counter with Noah Syndergaard (14-9, 2.60 ERA ERA), who
tossed six innings of five-hit ball in a 12-1 rout of Miami on the road
in his last start. Syndergaard gave up a run and struck out eight with
no walks. He split a pair of starts against the Giants with an ERA of
2.63. However, that 1-6 loss came against Bumgarner in May. The
24-year-old is 6-6 in 17 home starts with a 2.87 ERA.

The Big Apple will be in the spotlight on Wednesday when the New York
Yankees hosts the New York Mets in Game 3 of the latest edition of the
“Subway Series”.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

The Mets will go with Steven Matz (8-7, 3.35), who lost for the fourth
time in five decisions in a 6-1 loss to Colorado at home. Matz allowed
two runs on 10 hits over six innings, but he’s been hurt by a lack of
run support. The Mets have scored two runs or less in each of his four
recent losses. Matz has faced the Yankees just once in his career,
taking a win last year in his rookie season.

The Yankees were going to give the ball to Ivan Nova (7-6, 4.90), but he
was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates at the deadline on Monday. The
Yankees lost four straight to end July and while sitting with a .500
record in fourth place in the American League East, decided to have a
big fire sale. Carlos Beltran and All-Star reliever Andrew Miller were
also moved. A lot of young prospects are in the process of being called
up as this team will look very different down the stretch of the season.

The New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves will meet on the field at
Turner Field on Thursday in a battle of division rivals. The Braves are a
resurgent team under manager Brian Snitcker by winning 16 out of 19
games since he took over the helm. Freddie Freeman has seemed to hit his
stride and has been carrying the offense as well.

The Mets will give the ball to starter Matt Harvey in this one. Right hander Harvey is 4-9 this season with a 4.76 ERA.

The Braves will counter Harvey with Matt Wisler. Right hander Wisler has a 4.23 ERA to go along with a 3-7 record this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Mets listed as 154-moneyline favorites versus the Braves, while the game's total is sitting at 7½.

Last time out for Atlanta, they were a 3-0 loser as they battled the
Marlins on the road. Moneyline bettors who got the Marlins at -154 were
rewarded, while the 3 combined runs moved the game UNDER for totals
bettors.

New York won its last outing, a 4-3 result against the Royals on June
22. Bettors who backed the Mets at -150 on the moneyline won on the day,
and the total score (7) sent OVER bettors to the payout window.

MLB Tuesday Preview & Free Pick- Kansas City Royals at New York Mets - Handicappers Hideaway

The Kansas City Royals will make a quick stop at Citi Field this Tuesday
night for the first of a two-game interleague matchup against the New
York Mets. Game time is set for 7:10 p.m. and BetAnySports has
listed the Royals as +176 road underdogs with the money line on New
York set at -186. The betting line for the total in this game has been
set at 7.

Kansas City has been hot lately with eight wins in its last nine games
including an important three-game sweep of Cleveland last week followed
by a 3-1 series win against Detroit this past weekend. The Royals are
now 38-31 on the year and just a half game in back of the Indians in the
AL Central Division race. They have had their issues on the road this
season at 13-23 and the total has stayed UNDER in five of their last
seven road games.

It will be starter Ian Kennedy’s turn in the rotation for Kansas City on
Tuesday night. The right-hander is 5-5 on the year through 13 prior
starts and his current ERA stands at 4.17 with a 1.24 WHIP. Kennedy
lasted 6.2 innings his last time out after giving-up four earned runs on
five hits. Two of those hits went for home runs but he still hung on to
get the win behind some solid run support.

New York has dropped six of its last 10 games including three straight
losses to Atlanta this past weekend after closing as a solid home
favorite on BetAnySports’ MLB betting line
in all three games. The Mets are now 36-32 on the year and six games in
back of Washington in the NL East. They are 17-16 at Citi Field this
season and the total has stayed UNDER in four of their last six home
games.

Look for Noah Syndergaard to get the start for New York in this one. The
right-hander improved to 7-2 on the year with last week’s 11-2 romp
over Pittsburgh in which the Mets closed as -160 home favorites with
BetAnySports. He allowed just one earned run on five hits in 8.1 innings
of work. He also tallied 11 strikeouts against the Pirates and going
back over his last seven starts he has fanned at least nine batters in
four of those outings. Syndergaard has a stellar 1.91 ERA this season
and a 0.96 WHIP.

Kansas City is the hotter team, but I am going with New York in this one
behind an equally hot starter. Bet on the Royals’ struggles on the road
continuing against Syndergaard this Tuesday night.

The New York Mets and the Pittsburgh Pirates will meet on Monday when
they meet at PNC Park. The Pirates are stuggling lately and need a good

It'll be Jonathon Niese toeing the rubber for the Pirates in this
contest. Left hander Niese is 5-2 with a 4.36 ERA so far this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Mets listed as 140-moneyline favorites versus the Pirates, while the game's total is sitting at 8.

Angels. They lost as -140 favorites, while the total score of 9 made

After butting heads in the 2015 World Series, the Kansas City Royals and
New York Mets will meet again Sunday night (8:30 PM ET, ESPN) in the
2016 season-opener for both teams. Kansas City beat the Mets in five
games to win the Fall Classic for the first time since 1985. This year,
New York (+1200) is a step above the Royals (+1400) on the World Series
futures market.

Oddsmakers have the Mets and Matt Harvey as a -110 moneyline favorite while the total is sitting at 7.5.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Edinson Volquez will be the Opening Day pitcher for the home side.
Volquez enjoyed something of a renaissance in Kansas City, posting a
3.82 FIP and topping the 200-inning mark for the first time, but he's
still not as dominant as he was during his 2008 rookie campaign with the
Cincinnati Reds.

New York will respond with Matt Harvey (3.05 FIP), who was brilliant
last year in his return from Tommy John surgery. However, Harvey's
brilliance only translated to a 17-12 team record and 1.27 betting units
in profit during the regular season, and the Mets' bullpen coughed up
both of Harvey's starts during the World Series. Volquez, who dueled
with Harvey in both games, was good for 9.43 units last year on a team
record of 22-11.

BetAnySports’ MLB Pick of the Week for Tuesday, July 7th - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on San Francisco Giants Baseball

BetAnySports’ MLB Pick of the Week

New York Mets at San Francisco Giants- Tuesday, July 7

The New York Mets continue this week’s road series against the San
Francisco Giants this Tuesday night with Game 2 of a three-game set. BetAnySports
has listed the Mets as +130 underdogs with the MLB betting odds on the
Giants set at -140. The total for this game has been set at 7.

New York began this six-game West Coast swing by taking two out of three
from the Los Angeles Dodgers this past weekend. It outscored the
Dodgers 13-5 with two of the three games going OVER the total. This
followed a three-game sweep at the hands of the Chicago Cubs at home in
which the Mets were only able to score one run in the three games
combined. New York is currently 4.5 games in back of Washington in the
NL East at 42-41, but it is just 13-27 on the road this year.

Veteran right-hander Bartolo Colon is scheduled to get the start for the
Mets on Tuesday night. He looked solid in his last start by shutting
out the Cubs through seven full innings. This was after he got rocked
for a combined 10 earned runs on 19 hits in his previous two starts. On
the year, Colon is 9-6 with a 4.55 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP.

The Giants have slipped four games off the pace in the NL West after
dropping their last six contests. They were first swept by Miami on the
road before losing three-straight road games to Washington this past
weekend. This skid has left San Francisco just one game above .500 at
42-41 and it heads back to AT&T Park with a 21-20 record at home
this year. The total has gone OVER in five of its last seven home games.

Matt Cain did not make his first start of the season until last Thursday
after an extended stay on the DL. The rust was pretty evident after
Miami banged the right-hander around with five earned runs on seven hits
in just five innings of work. He also put four men on base with walks.

Colon has been hit or miss this season, but he still gives the Mets the
edge against Cain, who will probably need a few more starts to regain
his form. This matchup opens-up a golden opportunity for a play on New
York as a +123 underdog on BetAnySports’ MLB money line.
