MLB Odds: Dodgers Send Kershaw to Hill Versus Phillies - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball

MLB Odds: Dodgers Send Kershaw to Hill Versus Phillies

Current Bovada Line: Dogers are -380 favorites and the total is a 6 1/2 Under -115.

Clayton Kershaw may be the National League’s reigning MVP, but from a
betting perspective, he’s about as bad as it gets. The Los Angeles
Dodgers are just 8-9 in Kershaw’s starts this year, losing 9.89 betting
units in the process. Only reigning AL Cy Young winner Corey Kluber
(–13.90 units) has done worse this year. Kershaw will try to improve his
bottom line this Wednesday when the Philadelphia Phillies visit Chavez
Ravine. First pitch is at 10:10 PM ET.

Bet on baseball at Bodog and get a free 100% bonus.

Kershaw (2.54 FIP) has been holding up his end of the bargain.
However, he’s not quite as dominant as he was last year (1.81 FIP), and
the Dodgers are only scoring 3.94 runs per game when he starts, down
from their usual 4.16 runs per game. That, plus all the extra chalk
Kershaw takes to the mound, explains his difficulties with red ink this
year.

The Phillies don’t have to worry about chalk. They’re the worst team
in the majors by far, and on Wednesday, they’re going to throw Adam
Morgan to the wolves. This will be Morgan’s third big-league start; the
Phillies split the first two behind their young southpaw, who allowed
three runs in 12.2 innings.

MLB Odds: Phillies Host Dodgers in NL Slugfest

The 2012 MLB season is two months old, yet already we're seeing things we never expected. In particular, who would have thought that the Philadelphia Phillies would be last in their division while the Los Angeles Dodgers would be running away in theirs. These two teams will begin a four-game MLB betting series starting Monday.

A year ago at this time, the Phillies held a comfortable lead in the NL East, while the Dodgers were struggling to stay out of the basement of the NL West. What a difference a year makes.

With a lengthy injury list, including stars Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and now Roy Halladay, the Phillies can't seem to catch a break. The Dodgers haven't been safe from the injury bug, as Matt Kemp can't seem to stay healthy.

The series starts with a battle of lefties when Cliff Lee, who is somehow 0-2 in eight starts with a 3.00 ERA and 54 strikeouts goes against Clayton Kershaw, who is 4-3 with a 2.42 ERA and 64 strikeouts.

These two teams still have great MLB futures at the Bovada Sportsbook. Philly's odds are set at 14/1 while the Dodgers hold better odds at 10/1. Think that's how it will play out? Go to Bovada and prove it now.

Surging Brewers to Face September Test Versus Dominant Phillies

The Milwaukee Brewers are the hottest team in baseball.

In almost no time they've perfected a starting rotation that plagued them as recently as last year, flaunted the absolute dominance of their superstars with a Sports Illustrated cover story and, most importantly, managed to turn what was once a tight NL Central race into the biggest landslide lead in MLB this season.

It's no surprise they have 13/2 odds of winning the World Series this season.

This Thursday, however, the Brewers will face a true challenge for the first time in months, hosting the National League king Philadelphia Phillies for a four-game set.

For Milwaukee, the series is a serious gauging point. Though they've shredded their NL Central foes for weeks now, the Phillies have been atop the NL East and entire league all season long. Bet on the MLB juggernaut clash with Bodog's online sportsbook.

Though the Brew Crew have won over fans and critics alike with their dominance of late, the Phils were pegged as early favorites ever since last offseason, the expectations remain today. Philadelphia currently sits atop the MLB futures board with 2/1 odds of winning the World Series.

Not only will the mid-September tilt serve as a potential NLCS preview, it will also showcase two of the game?s best colliding violently at the peaks of their reign. Bet on Brewers/Phillies now.
