Giants 2012 Super Bowl Win Not Enough ? Patriots Still 2013 Super Bowl Favorites

One would think that a New York Giants victory over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl wouldn't be as much of a shock the second time around, but just ask any of the countless fans and bettors who had shown their faith and support for the Pats over the past few weeks and you?ll hear the truth.

Worse yet, ask Tom Brady.

In what was but "wasn't" a rematch of the 2008 title game that saw the Giants play spoilers to New England?s then-undefeated season, the two teams took the field in Indianapolis Sunday looking to set the record straight. Was Super Bowl XLII a fluke? Could Eli Manning rally his troops to genuinely contend at Super Bowl XLVI?

It didn't take long into the game for the Giants to hop back in the driver's seat, a seat they'd grown familiar with over the years. Even during their regular season clash this year, it was New York who walked away victorious. With all things considered it shouldn't come as a surprise that they made off with the championship, yet somehow it is.

Looking forward, the NFL betting line for the 2013 championship has the Patriots out on top. With 7/1 odds of winning the Super Bowl they place second behind only Green Bay. The Giants, of course, as they've grown used to, are further down with 15/1 odds.

Will we ever learn?

Underdog Giants Stand to Payout on NFL Betting Line

The New York Giants did it once, now they'll look to shock the world all over again. Will you stand to profit from the heady play of Eli Manning and company as they gear up for Super Bowl XLVI as underdogs? Weigh in on the NFL betting line today.

Although history shows the Giants, and not the New England Patriots, as the 2008 Super Bowl victors, NFL odds makers at Bovada seem to think that Tom Brady and the Pats are the club to beat in 2012. Never mind that the only regular season clash this season also went in New York's favor, the Giants are listed as +3 underdogs.

Can Manning, trusted with an over/under for total passing yards set at 315.5, follow through on 9/4 odds of winning the Super Bowl MVP? He may trail his counterpart Brady in both categories, but remains an intriguing choice with a higher payout.

Provided Manning can connect with standout receiver Victor Cruz, we may see the NFC Champions doing yet again what they seem to do best; show up big when few expect them to.

With a glutton of player props available, Bovada's NFL betting line is loaded with playable opportunities for football fans and experts alike. Weigh in on the big game yourself today.

Super Bowl XLVI: Tom Brady Player Props Popular on NFL Betting Line

Less than a week remains before the New England Patriots set out to exact revenge on the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. After falling shockingly in the exact same matchup back in 2008, the Tom Brady-led Pats have extra pressure to perform.

Though New England is being touted as the early -3 favorite on the NFL betting line, a victory in the season finale is far from guaranteed - all despite their AFC East-leading 13-3 mark. In fact, one of New England's three losses came at the hands of these very Giants.

Even in that loss Brady threw for over 340 yards, but a pair of interceptions proved fatal. According to Bovada this week, the over/under on Brady's yardage for the Super Bowl is set at 320.5. Does the 34-year-old have enough in the tank to show up big when it matters most yet again?

The NFL prop for Brady's interceptions is set at 0.5, with the majority of bettors taking the over.

But don't think the NFL odds are all about quarterback Brady, Bovada's prop line also features both Rob Gronkowski and Wes Welker, as well as a whole host of contributors poised to factor in to the match. Currently Brady leads the MVP props list with 7/5 odds of winning the hardware. Gronkowski and Welker sit further down at 10/1 and 15/1.

With all eyes on the Pats as they set out to accomplish this Sunday what they failed to do in 2008, Super Bowl XLVI is shaping up to be one of the best. Try your own luck on the NFL betting line with Bovada.

Will Birdman make his $5 Million Super Bowl wager at BetOnline.com?

Last Wednesday, hip-hop mogul Birdman boasted on Twitter that he planned on betting $5 Million on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. Where he was going to place this bet was anyone's guess.

Two days later BetOnline.com announced that they would accept Birdman's wager. All Birdman had to do was sign-up for an account at BetOnline and then post-up the funds in accordance to the gaming laws in Panama City, Panama; where BetOnline is licensed and regulated.

Fast-forward four days and Birdman has gone completely silent on making his record-setting bet at the fastest growing sportsbook in the US.

"We were really expecting to hear from Mr. Birdman," stated Dave Mason from BetOnline. "He makes a habit of boasting about the seven-figure bets he places, but there is never any proof. We are giving him the opportunity to not only win about $4,545,545 if the Patriots cover the three points they are laying to the Giants, but he would also silence all of his critics that claim he actually doesn't place the huge bets."

Once Birdman went into hiding over the weekend, the oddsmakers at BetOnline opened a prop on whether or not he'll even place the wager at BetOnline.

"Monday morning we opened the 'No he won't bet $5 Million at BetOnline' at -700. However, with still not even a chirp from Birdman, in addition to the one-sided 'No' action, we were forced to move the 'No' to -1500. With every bet that comes in opposing Birdman, he loses more and more 'street cred'. Obviously, he isn't serious about getting-down on the Super Bowl."

Don't pull a Birdman for Super Bowl XLVI, head over to BetOnline now and score up to $900.00 worth of free plays. And don't forget to place your Coin Toss wager at the lowest juice possible; bet "heads" or "tails" at +100.

Super Bowl Odds Say Patriots, But Giants Hold Momentum

The New England Patriots hold the slight advantage over the New York Giants when it comes to the Super Bowl betting line, but it's just as important to consider how NFL oddsmakers initially settled on the -3 spread. Though the Pats have been dominant for much of 2011-12, New York won clout with their victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The truth is, although the Patriots have the power of Tom Brady and three Super Bowl victories under their belts already, the Giants have emerged as a force of note in the NFC. For Eli Manning and company the fruitful postseason started with a trouncing of the Atlanta Falcons on Wild Card Weekend, the momentum of which may or may not have been a deciding factor in their performance the next time out.

Regardless of New York's win over Atlanta, however, what they've been most prized for this winter is their dismissing of Aaron Rodgers and reigning champion Green Bay. Can Manning throw another impressive game under the Super Bowl spotlight?

On the other side of the ball the Patriots will kick-off against the Giants with a slightly less impressive, though through no fault of their own. After sitting out of the first game of the postseason with a bye the Pats got to work disposing of Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos.

Will New England have gleaned more from their recent victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship than the Giants did from the San Francisco 49ers? Weigh in on the NFL betting line if you think you know how it will all unfold.

This time around, expect increased caution on the NFL betting lines as the NFC offering looks as viable as ever. Is New York as perennially feared as Tom Brady and the Pats? Hardly so, but anything can happen in professional football, especially on the game's greatest stage.

Get individual money lines and player props at Bovada's online sportsbook as the newly-appointed conference champions prepare for kick-off. Betting on the Super Bowl has never been more comprehensive.

Think the Giants can pull off another miracle? Convinced Bill Belichick and co. can stave off another catastrophic disappointment? At Super Bowl XLVI fans will see a lot more than a simple rematch of XLII, but a little reminder of history certainly doesn't hurt.

It's All On the Line.

If you thought Week 13 Monday Night Football game was not a great matchup, this week may be one of the worst possible as a fan or as a bettor. With Bradford and Feeley both being questionable, and the fact that the game is on the West Coast this game is pacing to be the lowest bet Monday Night Football game since I have been at Bodog (which is over ten years)."
