NHL Odds: Revived Leafs Visit Red-Hot Wings

Betting on Red Wing Hockey

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been rebuilding for a decade. Have they
finally figured things out? They’ve started the 2014-2015 campaign at
14-9-2-1, racking up 10.36 units against the moneyline and a 17-9 record
against the puck line. We’ll see what the Leafs are made of on
Wednesday Night Rivalry (8:00 PM ET, NBCSN) when the Detroit Red Wings
welcome them to The Joe.

The Red Wings (17-6-2-3, plus-5.04 units) have the better record as
we enter the second trimester of the regular season. They’ve won seven
of their past eight games. Toronto is 5-2 in its last seven, which
includes a 4-1 victory over the Wings as a slim –102 home favourite.
Detroit won their previous two meetings this year. All three games went
under the posted total of 5.5 goals.

Toronto looks like a paper tiger when it comes to puck possession.
The Corsi and Fenwick stats are heavily in Detroit’s favor; the Leafs
have made up for it by scoring 3.42 goals per game, second in the league
as we go to press. However, the Wings are fourth at 3.11 goals per
game.

NHL Odds: Hot Bruins Highlight Wednesday Doubleheader

Betting on Boston Bruins Hockey

NBCSN is doubling down on its popular Wednesday Night Rivalry format
this week. At 8:00 PM ET, the Boston Bruins will visit the Toronto Maple
Leafs in an Original Six reunion. The defending Stanley Cup champion
Los Angeles Kings will follow at 10:30 PM ET in a match against the
Anaheim Ducks.

Bet on hockey at Bodog and get a free 100% bonus.

There aren’t too many teams hotter than the Bruins (10-6) right now.
They’ve won five straight games, moving all the way up to No. 3 on the
Stanley Cup futures market (9/1). However, top-line centre David Krejci
(three goals, seven assists in 10 games) is unavailable Wednesday with
an undisclosed lower-body injury.

That might not matter much against the perpetually rebuilding Leafs
(8-5-2). Toronto has played better as of late. They won five of their
last seven since dropping a 4-1 decision to Boston (–108 away) on
October 25.

In the nightcap, the Ducks (10-3-3) lost their past three games in
extra time, but they’re still four points ahead of the Kings (8-4-3) in
the Pacific Division. That being said, the Kings are 10/1 to win the
Cup, and the Ducks are 12/1. Right wing Corey Perry (flu) will be
eligible to play for Anaheim, but the Kings will be short on defensemen
if Robyn Regehr (undisclosed) doesn’t return to action.

Toronto-Vancouver Rivalry Unfold on NHL Betting Line

If nothing else, Canadians will have something to fight about this Saturday as the Vancouver Canucks play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs on the NHL betting line. More than just a transnational rivalry, however, the matchup also serves as a legitimate measuring stick for the currently playoff-bound Leafs.

Is a postseason berth in the cards for a Toronto team that hasn't played spring hockey since before the lockout? According to Bovada's NHL odds makers, they have just 28/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup.

Still, although the Leafs may sit in a weight class with the New Jersey Devils and Florida Panthers, they're ahead of Northeast rivals in both the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

With a victory over the Canucks, could the Leafs prove themselves capable of upstaging a contender if given the opportunity? Vancouver has league-best 6/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup. Saturday, for Maple Leafs fans at least, is Judgment Day.

Given the amount of commotion and uncertainty in the Eastern Conference, there are few guarantees as to who might make the final cut in the bracket. Though Vancouver's place is all but sealed out West, it's games like this one where postseason tickets are won and lost.

Though recent history between the two clubs has had the Canadiens in the driver's seat the past few seasons, the Maple Leafs are looking to snap a growing playoff drought this spring. Support them today with Bovada's NHL odds.

Heading in to the Saturday night clash, the Leafs have 25/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup. A mark considerably higher than Montreal?s 75/1. Is this the year that they finally pay off on the NHL betting line?

Sitting toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference playoff pack, the Maple Leafs will need to string together continued success as the regular season rolls into February. Having not qualified for a postseason berth since 2004, critics aren't holding their breath.

Do NHL odds makers see something unique in the franchise? Do you? Weigh in on the Toronto Maple Leafs with Bovada?s Stanley Cup futures today.

NHL Betting Preview: Underdog Leafs Host Wings in Original Six Clash

Two of the NHL's most celebrated franchises will square off in a Hockey Night in Canada matchup this Saturday as the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Detroit Red Wings on Bovada's NHL betting line.

Get your NHL odds and futures for the second half of the season today.

Though the season started strong for the hometown Leafs, the Buds have since slipped back down to the level of mediocrity they've grown accustomed to in recent memory. If this is to be the year they return to the postseason they'll have to turn their campaign around fast.

According to Bovada's hockey odds makers, the Maple Leafs have 30/1 odds of winning the Stanley Cup. In contrast to Toronto and its constant struggle, the Red Wings carry 13/1 odds on the NHL futures list.

Can Detroit take the opportunity to steal two points from an Original Six rivalry when the puck gets dropped? Currently in the upper half of the Western Conference playoff picture the Wings are as much a factor in the Central Division as ever.

With the one-two combination of Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul proving insufficient recently, Toronto will need to find a way to start turning point-production into victories. Does that start this weekend?
