The fans at Percival Molson Stadium will be treated to a game between
the Calgary Stampeders and the Montreal Alouettes when they take their
seats on Friday.

Oddsmakers currently have the Stampeders listed as 9½-point favorites versus the Alouettes, while the game’s total is sitting at 47½.

The Alouettes were a 20-16 loser in their most recent outing at home
against the RedBlacks. They failed to cover the -8-point spread as
favorites, while the total score (36) made winners of UNDER bettors.

Calgary won its last outing, a 24-23 result against the Tiger-Cats on
June 26. The Stampeders failed to cover in that game as a -6-point
favorite, while the 47 combined points took the game UNDER the total.

Daily Fantasy Sports at DraftTeam

MLB $3,000 High Heater contest day over at DraftTeam, so make sure you get your entry in

Here are some tips for play on Friday July 3.

For the second day in a row, we’re going to lead off by recommending a
Pirate. Why not? The Buccos are scorching right now and few are as hot
as SS Jordy Mercer ($8,888). He’s hit safely in eight straight, but over
his last seven games specifically, he’s batting .469, recording
multiple hits six times.

Mercer’s offensive game has been in regression for a couple of years,
but a week like this can sure help take the sting out of it. April and
May were extremely unkind to him, but he sure woke up in June (800 OPS)
and early on, July has been even better. Mercer is not getting quite as
much PT this year, and his counting cats are way down. His walk rate had
dipped and his slugging percentage is at a career low. Perhaps Mercer
is gearing up for a big second half, which is not unusual for him. Over
the last three years, he’s recorded a 791 second half OPS compared to
just 653 in the first half.

Almost two months ago, we discussed Boston LF Hanley Ramirez’s latest
injury, but he didn’t wind up missing that much action. In fact, the
fragile star missed more games at the end of June because of a hand
injury. In the two games since Ramirez has returned, he’s proved his
hand woe has not sapped him of his extra-base pop. He tripled on
Wednesday and hit a solo homer on Thursday. At $10,460, we like Ramirez
on Friday against Houston and SP Dan Straily, a pitcher he’s faced twice
and doubled once against.

DFS Notes

  • Another solid LF option is Milwaukee’s Gerardo Parro ($8,738). He’s
batting .382 over the last 14 games to reach the .300 mark for the
season. If he gets enough PT in the second half (which is questionable
with Khris Davis due back shortly), Parra could reach double figures in
both homers and steals for the second time.
  • Bring out your fringe hitters against the Phillies. Their team ERA
against the woeful Brewers in a four-game sweep this week was 6.39. Ugh.
  • Los Angeles Angels CF Mike Trout ($14,193) is batting .277 at home,
but .331 on the road. The Halos begin a nine-game road trip Friday, so
be sure to plug Trout in there as often as feasible.

Betting on Blue Bombers Football

Thursday CFL Preview

The fans at Investors Group Field will be treated to a game between
the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers when they take
their seats on Thursday.

Oddsmakers have this game as a Pick and the total is sitting at 52.

The Blue Bombers were a 30-26 winner in their most recent outing on
the road against the Roughriders. They covered the +6-point spread as
underdogs, while the total score (56) made winners of OVER bettors.

Last time out for Hamilton, they were a 24-23 loser as they battled
the Stampeders on the road. The Tiger-Cats covered in the match as a
+6-point underdog, while 47 combined points moved the game UNDER for
totals bettors.

Hamilton:

Team record: 0-1 SU,1-0 ATS

Hamilton is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games

Hamilton is 8-4 SU in its last 12 games

The total has gone UNDER in 9 of Hamilton’s last 12 games

DraftTeam is hosting its $50,000 All Star Break Grand Slam Contest - Handicappers Hideaway

Daily Fantasy Sports at DraftTeam

Hey, Daily Fantasy Baseball loving peeps: In just over two weeks, DraftTeam is hosting its $50,000 All Star Break Grand Slam contest, so make sure you get your entry in.

Now, let’s see if we can help you win some cash on Thursday July 2.

The last time we recommended Pittsburgh 2B Neil Walker ($8,441), he
wound up getting a day off. That serves as a perfect reminder to always
check the daily lineups before finalizing your own roster. At any rate,
Walker has sure shaken off his hip and core injuries recently. He was
stuck in a 4-for-32 rut over a 10-game span, but then started to turn it
around by going 4-for-9 over his next three games.

Then Walker and his teammates went to Motown to face the Tigers and in
the first game of the series, he lashed two hits, including the go-ahead
RBI double as the Pirates won in 14 innings. On Wednesday, he exploded
for a season-best four hits, two of which left the park. Suddenly Walker
owns Detroit, having gone 17-for-40 with four jacks in the last nine
games, and is lobbying baseball to have the Tigers shifted to the
National League. Needless to say, he looks like a great investment
tonight, as he turns things around from a first half in which he simply
didn’t hit as well as last year.

In late-September 2013, we recommended Milwaukee 3B Aramis Ramirez
($6,902), but he only went 1-for-4, striking out twice. Well, we’re
getting back on the ARam horse. He’s been killing the Phillies so far in
this series, going 5-for-9 with seven RBI — despite the fact that he
didn’t even start Monday’s game. Suddenly, we’re not moaning about
Ramirez’s lack of productivity this season. And get this: he has
back-to-back multiple hit efforts for the first time in what’s been a
trying final season.

DFS Notes

  • How scorching is Texas SP Yovani Gallardo ($23,158) right now? Since
May 24, he’s 4-0 with the lowest ERA in the bigs (0.99) and has not
given up a single long ball.
  • Whatever you do, don’t start a southpaw against the Toronto Blue
Jays. They are hitting an MLB-best .306 against lefties. Needless to
say, Boston SP Wade Miley ($20,458) is to be avoided on Thursday.
  • Atlanta C A.J. Pierzynski ($7,049) is feasting on Washington
pitching at home this season, having gone 8-for-19 (.421) with 10
ribbies in five games at Turner Field.

Thursday MLB Preview: Texas Rangers vs. Baltimore Orioles - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on Orioles Baseball

Thursday MLB Preview

The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles will both be trying to pick up a win on Thursday when they battle at Camden Yards.

Yovani Gallardo will be the starting pitcher for the Rangers on this
day. Right hander Gallardo is 7-6 this season with a 2.72 ERA.

Meanwhile, it’ll be Kevin Gausman who starts for the Orioles. Right hander Gausman is 1-0 with a 4.24 ERA so far this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Orioles listed as 115-moneyline favorites versus the Rangers, while the game’s total is sitting at 8½.

Baltimore won its last outing, a 4-2 result against the Rangers on
July 01. Bettors who backed the Orioles at -175 on the moneyline won on
the day, and the total score (6) sent UNDER bettors to the payout
window.

The Rangers were a 4-2 loser in their most recent outing on the road
against the Orioles. That made winners of bettors who got Baltimore at
-175 on the moneyline, while the total score (6) was good news for UNDER
bettors.

Texas:

Team record: 40-39

Texas is 3-8 SU in its last 11 games

The total has gone UNDER in 12 of Texas’s last 17 games on the road

Texas is 3-12 SU in its last 15 games when playing Baltimore

Five Good Ways to Compete with the Big Offshore Sportsbooks - Handicappers Hideaway

online PPH at RealBookies.com

Five Good Ways to Compete with the Big Offshore Sportsbooks

Any independent bookmaker that works closely with a quality Pay Per
Head service has all the tools they need to successfully build a
profitable business in the sports betting industry. This is true even
with the heavy competition they face for their customer’s attention on a
regular basis from the big offshore sportsbooks that are also in the
game.

One of the main reasons that you can successfully compete is the level
of personal attention you can bring to your entire customer base. The
top PPH services in the bookmaking industry like Realbookies.com employ a sports betting software package that can help you set-up individual profiles for each of your customers to better serve their needs.

You will have the capability to drill down into each one of their
accounts to help monitor daily betting activity, assess potential
exposure and set-up credit and betting terms that best suit their
individual needs. This extra-added personal touch is a great way to add
value to your bookmaking service in ways that the big sportsbook simply
cannot match.

Another good way to separate your bookmaking business from the large
sportsbooks in the online sports betting business is to make sure that
you are at the very least matching everything that they can bring to the
table. One way to do this is to offer full access to as many sports
betting opportunities as possible through expanded betting odds and
betting options for a wide variety of events all around the globe. You
never want to give any of your customers a reason to look elsewhere for
action that you do not offer.

Another big part of the equation when matching services is using your
PPH service’s online mobile platform for live in-game betting. This is
one of the fastest growing and most exciting ways to bet on sports and
with all the major advances in technology and sports betting software,
you want to make sure that your customers are set-up to take full
advantage of the opportunity to bet on sports as they unfold. Not only
will access to live in-game betting position your bookmaking business as
a top-notch state-of-the-art operation, it will allow you to generate
an extra stream of revenue across your entire customer base.

Expanding revenue should always be top of mind along with competing with
the big sportsbooks so it is imperative that you are fully utilizing
your PPH service’s offering of an expanded racebook for horses as well
as an online casino. Both of these are wildly popular with anyone who
likes to wager on sports and given the year-round nature of these added
betting options they are always in-play.

With direct access to well over 60 horse tracks throughout North
America, your customers will never be at a loss for action when it comes
to betting on the daily races. This is a 12-month a year proposition
that can become a major source of income as long as you actively promote
your racebook on a regular basis.

The same can be said to your PPH service’s online casino. The realism
that their casino software can add to the games will make your customers
feel like they are gambling in some of the top betting houses in the
world. This service also offers live dealer games for things such as
blackjack and roulette to add even more excitement to the betting
experience. The best thing about the online casino is that it is already
included in the low price you pay for each of your active customers.

The final way that you can compete with the big offshore sportsbooks is
to offer a sign-up bonus for new accounts as well as instituting
incentives for referrals and customer loyalty. Everyone loves perks and
what better way is there to reward your customers than with cash-back
incentives in free plays just like the big sportsbooks do. In the long
run, you will come out ahead given the overall increase in betting
action that these free-play rewards will create.

Betting on St. Louis Baseball

MLB Odds: Top-Profit Cardinals Host Falling White Sox

The St. Louis Cardinals are the best team in Major League Baseball right
now, and it’s not even close. The Cardinals went into Tuesday’s action
with a 51-24 record, which is nine games up on the rest of the NL
Central. On Wednesday, John Lackey (3.41 FIP) will take the mound for
the Cards as they host Jose Quintana (3.58 FIP) and the Chicago White
Sox. First pitch is at 8:15 PM ET.

Bet on baseball at Bodog and get a free 100% bonus.

Betting on St. Louis in every game would have generated 23.41 betting
units in earnings, and that’s head-and-shoulders above anyone else. But
Lackey is only responsible for 1.69 of those units. The Cardinals are
9-6 behind their nominal ace, giving him only 3.67 runs of support per
game instead of their already-pedestrian average of 4.12 runs. The under
is 10-5 for Lackey this year and 45-27-3 overall for St. Louis.

Chicago (32-42, minus-12.42 units, under 41-30-3) comes into this game
having lost 12 of its past 16 games to land in the AL Central basement.
Quintana is down 3.86 units on a team record of 6-9; the Sox have scored
just 2.33 runs per game for their young lefty, with the under checking
in at 11-4.

What You Need To Know Before Tigers Host Jays This Weekend - Handicappers Hideaway

Betting on Detroit Tigers Baseball

What You Need To Know Before Tigers Host Jays This Weekend

A pair of underperforming but formidable opponents will collide in
Michigan this weekend as the Detroit Tigers host the Toronto Blue Jays.
More than just a battle of wills, the series is relevant to those
anxious to capitalize on a trend that’s emerged in the Tigers’ recent
track record.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

In each of their past 10 games, the Tigers and their opponents have
combined to plate more runs than the over/under suggests. That’s what
happens when the pitching staff of one of the most prolific hitting
teams in the league starts to struggle. In addition to Detroit’s 5.6
runs per game over the span, they’ve allowed an average of 6.5.

This weekend the Tigers will look to gain ground in the AL Central as
the Blue Jays look to claw their way up the AL East. Both squads are
capable of conference dominance, and both have the talent required for a
successful season, yet both teams have coasted safely in the middle of
the pack so far.

According to oddsmakers, both teams are decent long-term MLB betting
options. The Tigers are 16/1 to win the World Series compared to
Toronto’s 20/1.
