The Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays meet at Tropicana Field on
Sunday as they open their 2016 MLB Seasons. The Blue Jays are on a quest
to stay at the top of the AL East Standings and the Rays will have a
hard time trying to compete with their low payroll and most of their
former young stars playing elsewhere, but with their usual good pitching
should stay in many games this season.

The Blue Jays will give the ball to starter Marcus Stroman in this one. Right hander Stroman is 0-0 this season with a 0.00 ERA.

It'll be Chris Archer toeing the rubber for the Rays in this contest.
Right hander Archer is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA so far this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Rays listed as 114-moneyline favorites versus the Blue Jays, while the game's total is sitting at 7.

In their last action, Tampa Bay was a 12-3 winner on the road against
the Blue Jays. Bettors on Tampa Bay at 141 on the moneyline collected
their winnings from that game, while the total score (15) sent OVER
bettors home happy as well.

Toronto lost its last outing, a 4-3 result against the Royals on October
23. Bettors who backed the Royals at 128 on the moneyline won on the
day, and the total score (7) sent UNDER bettors to the payout window.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates are set to kick-off the
2016 MLB season on Sunday when they meet at PNC Park. Going into the
season the Cardinals have more question marks than they have had in
years with holes to fill all over the field and on the mound but should
still be competitive in their division. The Pirates have virtually
remained unchanged and should be a staple at the top of the standings
this year. The question will be whether the Pirates can put an entire
season together of quality baseball instead of turning it on a couple of
months into the season.

The Cardinals will trot Adam Wainwright out to the mound in this one.
Right hander Wainwright has a 0-0 record and a 0.00 ERA this season.

Meanwhile, it'll be Francisco Liriano who starts for the Pirates. Left hander Liriano is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA so far this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Pirates listed as 120-moneyline favorites versus the Cardinals, while the game's total is sitting at 6.

Last time out for Pittsburgh, they were a 4-0 loser as they battled the
Cubs on the road. Moneyline bettors who got the Cubs at -128 were
rewarded, while the 4 combined runs moved the game UNDER for totals
bettors.

The Cardinals were a 6-4 loser in their most recent outing on the road
against the Cubs. That made winners of bettors who got Chicago at -115
on the moneyline, while the total score (10) was good news for OVER
bettors.

St. Louis:

Team record: 101-65 SU

Current Streak: lost 3 straight games.

St. Louis is 1-6 SU in its last 7 games

St. Louis is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games on the road

The Oklahoma Sooners and the Villanova Wildcats will meet up in the
nights first game at NRG Stadium. It should be an entertaining one as
both teams are playing well on both sides of the ball. The Question
tonight could be whether Buddy Hield wants to show the nation that he
should have been the National Player of the Year and whether Villanova
can keep up or contain him if he gets the hot hand that he has so often.

Oddsmakers currently have the Wildcats listed as 2-point favorites versus the Sooners, while the game's total is sitting at 144.

Villanova was a 64-59 winner in its against the Kansas Jayhawks in their
Elite eight matchup. They covered the +2-point spread as underdogs.

Oklahoma was an 80-68 winner against the outmanned Oregon Ducks. They
covered the +1-point spread as this game was never in doubt and the
score was closer than the actual game.

Oklahoma:

Team record: 29-7 SU,14-20 ATS

Current Streak: won 4 straight games.

Oklahoma is 2-7 ATS in its last 9 games

Oklahoma is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games

The total has gone UNDER in 12 of Oklahoma's last 14 games

Villanova:

Team record: 33-5 SU,20-17 ATS

Current Streak: won 4 straight games.

Villanova is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games

Villanova is 9-1 SU in its last 10 games

The total has gone OVER in 10 of Villanova's last 13 games

For over 46 years and only the second time in history, the NHL’s Stanley
Cup is guaranteed to go to an American team with all seven Canadian
teams eliminated from the Playoffs – and while it is a shame that the
inventors of the Sport are shut out of the winning race, it’s more of a
shame that we never played any spread betting points and made a killing on it ... although as a Yank I’m slightly biased to that order.

With over a week and a half to go from the main season, the last
remaining team with a chance – the Senators – were eliminated as the
Flyers beat the Capitals. While many of Canada’s large fan base are
being reminded that there are several major Canadian players still in
the tournament, ‘including Chicago captain Jonathan Toews, Los Angeles rearguard Drew Doughty and Pittsburgh centre Sidney Crosby,’ there is a sense from many that this does little to console them in the wake of the bigger picture.

However – let’s take a look at who has the most players on their team rosters from Canada:
  • The Panthers – Fielding a whopping 16 Canadian players – however 5 are currently injured
  • The Flyers – With 15 Canadian players on their books, they are a good alternative
  • The Ducks – Another team with 15 on the list, they could carry the flag for the fans
Alternatively fans can just root against the teams that they hate
most and therefore support a ‘Wild card’ pick which would certainly make
the games a little more calm to watch.

So does this look like a one-off or the start of a serious decline for
the Canucks in the NHL? Last year there were 5 teams from Canada that
qualified for the post-season playoffs, and whilst the Chicago Blackhawks were the eventual victors
and the previous years had just one or two Canadian teams, this was
certainly not indicative of the events that have surfaced in this years’
Stanley Cup tournament. That doesn’t mean that we aren’t heading for a
downturn of teams in the Cup, just that we could face this situation
again if the Canadian teams don’t buck up their performances.

In just a few days, the Los Angeles Clippers (47-27 SU, 35-37-2 ATS)
will have Blake Griffin back in the lineup. But they'll be without him
this Thursday when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder (52-23 SU,
32-40-3 ATS), winners of eight of their last nine games at 6-3 ATS.
Tip-off is at 9:30 PM ET on TNT.

The Clipshow is coming off a 99-79 thrashing of the Minnesota
Timberwolves last night. It was the Clippers' fourth straight win and
Doc Rivers has decided that Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and J.J. Redick
will be rested when the team plays its fourth game in five days on
Thursday. With the news the starters will be rested the Thunder are a
15.5 point favorite and the total has dropped from 216 to 209.

Bet on basketball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

This will be the fourth and final meeting of the regular season between
these two Western foes. Oklahoma City has the 2-1 advantage straight up,
although Los Angeles is 2-1 ATS in this series. They split a pair of
games home and away earlier this month with Griffin (23.2 PER) on the
sidelines. He'll be joined Thursday by Paul Pierce (8.0 PER), who's out
for an undetermined length of time with a right knee contusion.

The Thunder have one of the weaker benches among the NBA's second-tier
title contenders, but they also have two of the league's best players in
Russell Westbrook (27.8 PER) and Kevin Durant (28.2 PER). Westbrook has
seven triple-doubles in March alone, and he hasn't had to jack up as
many questionable shots this year to get the job done, now that Durant
is healthy and by his side.

The Final Four tips off on Saturday and the nightcap in Houston features
a pair of college bluebloods. The Syracuse Orange (+750 to win
championship) have surprised many to get to this point as a No. 10 – the
first ever to make it to the Final Four. The North Carolina Tar Heels
(+105 favorites to win championship) handled their business as the top
seed in their region.

Oddsmakers opened this line up with the Tar Heels favored by 9 points
and the total at 146. The point-spread has stayed pretty steady but the
total has been bet down to 144.5 with the defense Syracuse has been
playing.

Bet on basketball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

The Orange (23-13 SU, 20-15 ATS) downed top-seeded Virginia 68-62 to
reach their sixth Final Four and their first since 2013. Malachi
Richardson netted 23 points for Syracuse, who were down by as many as 16
in the second half, but they fought back and rode their 2-3 zone
defense all the way to Houston. Syracuse has now allowed 55.7 points in
the NCAA Tournament.

The Tar Heels (32-6 SU, 19-18-1 ATS) powered past Notre Dame with an
88-74 win as Brice Johnson had his third double-double in a row with 25
points and 12 rebounds. North Carolina shot a ridiculous 61.5% from the
field and have averaged 89.2 points during the Tournament so far.

North Carolina has won three of their last five meetings with Syracuse, including both in ACC play this season.

The Philadelphia Flyers are on the verge of rescuing what looked like a
lost season. At press time, they're holding down the last Wild Card
berth in the Eastern Conference playoffs at 37-25-13. Philadelphia's
next game is this Wednesday (8 PM ET, NBCSN) against the best team in
the NHL, the 54-16-5 Washington Capitals. Oddsmaker have the Flyers as a
-115 moneyline favorite and the total is sitting at 5.

Bet on hockey at Bodog and get a free 100% bonus.

The Flyers have won eight of their 13 games this month despite having to
go with Steve Mason (.918 save percentage) in goal while Michal
Neuvirth (.925 SV%) was ill with a stomach virus – and after Neuvirth
tore his meniscus the day he returned. Mason has played reasonably well,
though, and aside from Neuvirth and defenseman Michal Del Zotto (torn
wrist ligaments), Philadelphia is relatively healthy for a change.

Washington is projected to start No. 1 netminder Braden Holtby (.923
SV%) on Wednesday. Holtby has enjoyed yet another strong season for the
Caps after finishing fourth in last year's Vezina Trophy race. He'll be
joined by winger TJ Oshie (24 goals, 22 assists), who returned to action
with a power-play goal in Monday's 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue
Jackets (+200 away) after missing two games with an undisclosed illness.
