Dodgers Trying to Keep Pace in NL West

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the heat of the National League playoff battle, while the New York Mets are trying to make up ground. The Dodgers host the Mets on Wednesday in Los Angeles in the third of a four-game set.

Arizona Riding 7-Game Win Streak

Game 1 of a three-game battle for first place in the NL West gets underway this Tuesday night in an 8:40 p.m. (ET) start when the Arizona Diamondbacks roll into Coors Field to tangle with the Colorado Rockies. Both teams are now at -105-moneyline betting odds to win and the total line is at 11.

Arizona is riding a seven-game winning streak into this series after sweeping the Phillies by a combined score of 15-9 in three games this past weekend. It is now just one game in back of Colorado for the lead in the NL West at 44-26. The Diamondbacks have gone 18-17 on the road this season and the total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in five of their last eight road games on BetAnySports’ closing line.

Red Sox and Royals Open a 3-Game Set

Royals and Red Sox Both Play Well

The fans at Royals Stadium will see the Boston Red Sox and the Kansas City Royals when they take their seats on Monday. Both teams have won seven of their last 10 and the Royals are now within striking distance of the leaders. Since May 10th the Royals are 21-14 to get them to only two games below .500 since they were 7-9 early in the season.

The Red Sox will give the ball to starter Hector Velazquez in this one. Right hander Velazquez is 1-1 this season with a 6.48 ERA. Velazquez will make his second career start. The Red Sox hope it goes better than his debut May 18 in Oakland. In five innings, he allowed six runs and nine hits.

Starting this game for the Royals will be Jason Hammel. The right hander has a 5.05 ERA to go along with a 3-6 record this season. Wednesday in San Francisco, Hammel allowed one run and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings. In his last three starts, Hammel is 2-0 with a 2.21 ERA and holding opponents to a .218 average (17-for-78).

Oddsmakers opened the Red Sox as -113-moneyline favorites versus the Royals, while the game's total opened at 9.5. The Royals are now a -110-moneyline favorite and the total has held steady.

Blue Jays and Rangers Tangle in Texas

Rangers Looking to Keep Astros in Sight

The Toronto Blue Jays and the Texas Rangers will battle on Monday when they meet at Globe Life Park. The Rangers are trying to find some consistency so they can keep the Houston Astros in sight. The Astros hold an 11-game lead over the Rangers.

What has to bother the Rangers is they have won seven of their last ten games and still are 11 games behind the Astros. This is even with the Astros having a depleted starting rotation. That rotation is about to get healthy again and that could spell real trouble for the AL West.

The Blue Jays will pin their hopes on the pitching of right hander Marco Estrada in this game. Estrada has a 4-5 record and a 4.54 ERA this season. Estrada has struggled throughout June. He has lost all three of his starts. Estrada has not pitched more than 5 2/3 innings in any of them. He has a 12.08 ERA in June. He was blasted by Tampa Bay for six runs on 2 hits in 3 1/3 innings in his last start.

The Rangers will counter Estrada with Austin Bibens-Dirkx. Right hander Bibens-Dirkx has a 3.28 ERA to go along with a 2-0 record this season.
