What Member of Trump Administration Leave First?

Trump Administration

Trump Administration Odds: Who Will Leave Trump First?

These are not good times for the Trump Administration. The schism between Donald Trump and the Republicans in Congress is growing wider every day. He has blindsided the Joints Chief of Staff by banning transgenders from the military. He has called the sitting US Attorney General out on several occasions.

Who will be the first key figure in Trump’s inner circle to abandon ship? Odds have been listed for four major candidates; Reince Priebus is the –150 favorite at press time, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions is right behind him at +135.

Bet on politics at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Trump has been openly critical of Sessions lately, tweeting his unhappiness about Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from the ongoing investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election. But Sessions has refused to step down from his post, telling reporters last Thursday that he’d remain as Attorney General “as long as that is appropriate.”

White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (+550) are next on the odds list, followed by Vice President Mike Pence at +2500. Pence has more incentive to stick around than the other three, since he’s next in line to become President if and when Trump is removed from office. Reports on Monday had Tillerson thinking about quitting his job “well before” the end of the year; Sessions is also –150 to leave his job before 2018 rolls around.

MLB Free Tuesday Pick- Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa Bay Rays Baseball

Orioles Look for More Even Play

This week’s three-game AL East tilt between the Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays moves to Game 2 on Tuesday night.  The game is a 7:10 p.m. (ET) start at Tropicana Field. The Orioles beat the Rays 5-0 on Monday night. BetAnySports has listed the Rays as -125 home favorites and the total line is now at 8.5.

The Orioles (48-51) swept the Texas Rangers last week in an extended four-game series. They then lost two of three to Houston over the weekend. All seven games were at home. They avoided the sweep against the Astros on Sunday. Sunday’s 9-7 slugfest had the Jays as +115 home underdogs. The total went OVER the 10.5-run line. The total has gone OVER in six out of Baltimore’s last seven games. That Orioles offense has a scoring average of seven plus runs a game in that stretch.

Look for Wade Miley to be on the mound for the Orioles on Tuesday night. The left-hander is 4-8 on the year with a 5.58 ERA and a 1.82 WHIP. He failed to get the decision in last Thursday’s start against the Rangers. Miley allowed five earned runs on seven hits across five innings of work. This was the second start in a row he got bounced around after giving up seven earned runs on nine hits against the Chicago White Sox on July 15.

Tampa Bay Rays are Losers of 5-Straight

Tampa Bay dropped three straight to Texas at home over the weekend after losing last week’s series finale against Oakland on the road. Add in last night's 5-0 home loss to the Orioles and the Rays are reeling. This five-game slide dropped the Rays to 51-49 on the year and 3.5 games in back of Boston in the AL East Division race. They are 27-23 at home this season and the total has stayed UNDER in five of their last eight home games on BetAnySports’ closing line.

It should be Jacob Faria’s turn in Tampa Bay’s starting rotation this Tuesday night. The right-hander got tagged with his first loss of the season against four wins his last time out. He allowed four earned runs on six hits in five innings pitched against Oakland last Wednesday. Faria faced the Orioles twice in late June and gave up a combined five earned runs on nine hits in a total of 12 2/3 innings pitched. His current ERA stands at 2.52 with a 1.08 WHIP.

I like Tampa Bay at home on Tuesday night with Faria on the mound. I expect him to bounce right back from last week’s shaky effort with the form that has made him so effective in the majority of his other outings this year.

Surprising Brewers Travel to Battle Nationals

Nationals Baseball

Nationals Face Surprising Division Leaders

The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the biggest surprises of the season so far. With a 53-48 straight up record, they’re sitting atop in the National League Central. They have a 1/2-game lead on the Chicago Cubs. On Tuesday, they’ll head to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Nationals, one of the World Series favorites. This will be the second of a four-game series.

Oddsmakers have the Nationals as a -127-moneyline favorite. The total is sitting at 10.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

The Brewers will go with Zach Davies (11-4, 4.76), who took a no-decision in a 3-2 loss at Pittsburgh in his last outing. Davies went seven innings, allowing a run on eight hits with four strikeouts and a walk. This will be his first time facing the Nationals. He’s 5-0 in 10 road starts with a 3.18 ERA.

The Nationals counter with Gio Gonzalez (8-5, 2.83), who lost his last outing by a 7-0 score on the road against the Los Angeles Angels. Gonzalez gave up four runs on five hits over 5.2 innings, striking out three and walking three. Gonzalez is 2-3 in seven starts against the Brewers with an ERA of 4.95. He’s also 1-2 in nine home starts with a 1.95 ERA.

Going into their first meeting of the season, the two had split their last 10 games. Five games have gone over the posted total, with a push.

MLB Odds: Will Sonny Gray Pitch for A’s Versus Jays?

Athletics Sonny Gray

Contenders Looking Hard at Sonny Gray

The Toronto Blue Jays (44-54, –18.55 betting units) know they’ll be hosting the Oakland Athletics (44-54, –7.27 units) this Tuesday night. Who will pitch for the A’s is the question? Oakland has penciled Gray in to start. He’s been the subject of trade rumors heading towards the July 31 deadline.

Oddsmakers have Toronto as a -110-moneyline favorite. The total is now at 9.5. The game starts at 7:07 PM ET on Sportsnet.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

If Gray (3.38 FIP) does take the hill at Rogers Centre, the Jays could be in for another long night. Oakland’s ace has allowed just six earned runs in his last five starts combined. The A’s won four of those games. They have improve to 8-7 (+0.35 units) in Gray’s 15 starts on the season.

The former All-Star has also limited current Toronto bats to a .673 lifetime OPS. Jose Bautista is 5-of-12 against Gray with a homer and a fat 1.051 OPS.

The Jays are in a freefall and their roster is riddled with injuries. Reliever Cesar Valdez (6.31 FIP in 19.1 innings) is expected to throw the first pitch for the Jays. Valdez is a 32-year-old journeyman. The righty who’s bounced around the minors since turning pro in 2006. This is his second stint with the Jays organization. Oakland designated him for assignment in early May.

BC Lions host the Blue Bombers Friday Night

BC Lions

3-1 Lions Looking for First Home Win

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the British Columbia Lions will rehash their playoff semi-final matchup on Friday when they battle at BC Place. This is the most appealing clash on the Week 5 CFL Schedule. Tonight's clash will be key in deciding the pecking order in the West.

Oddsmakers have the Lions as 4.5-point favorites. The total is at 55.

The Lions were a 41-26 winner in their most recent outing on the road against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. They covered the -3.5-point spread as favorites, while the total score (67) made winners of OVER bettors.

For the 3-1, Lions, Friday’s contest is an opportunity to chalk up home win No. 1. They just come off sweeping a 3-game road trip. After being sharp off the bench last week, veteran quarterback Travis Lulay will get the start. Lulay will make his first start since 2015. The 2011 MOP showed he’s still got something left in the tank in last week’s 436-yard, three-TD performance at Hamilton.

Bombers Looking to Avenge 2016 Playoff Loss

The Blue Bombers were a 33-25 winner in their most recent outing at home against the Toronto Argonauts. They covered the -3-point spread as favorites, while the total score (58) made winners of OVER bettors. The Bombers are 2-1 and are on the road for the first time in 3-weeks.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have started their 2017 campaign on the right foot. They want the world to know that their focus is on winning as they return to the site of their season-ending 32-31 Western Semi-Final loss in 2016.

One of the keys for Winnipeg this week will be finding a rhythm early on offense. The Bombers haven’t done through Week 4.

Nats Travel to Arizona to Play Diamondbacks

Diamondbacks Baseball

Diamondbacks Add OF Bat to Lineup

The Washington Nationals are back in Phoenix this weekend to take on the Diamondbacks. Both teams have been busy having great seasons, but have lately added key components via trades. This weekends series' will let the teams see where they stack up with each other.

Oddsmakers have the Nationals as a -160-moneline favorite. Max Scherzer of the Nationals will face off against Zack Godley of the DBacks. The total is set at 8.5.

Arizona traded for Detroit corner outfielder J.D. Martinez on Tuesday. This move will add a right-handed power bat to their lineup. Even with All-Star Paul Goldschmidt, the Dbacks have had trouble against left-handed starters. The Diamondbacks are only 10-12 against lefties this season.

The D-backs had lost eight of nine games before winning two out of three at Cincinnati this week. Arizona is 5 1/2 games ahead of the Chicago Cubs in the  NL wild-card race, and tied with Colorado for the other spot. The D-backs have lost eight games in the NL West standings to the Dodgers since July 1.

Nationals Added to Bullpen

Washington acquired relievers Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson from the Oakland A's on Sunday. It was an attempt to strengthen a bullpen that has been the worst in the majors most of the year. Nationals relievers have 14 blown saves so far. They also have a major-league-worst 5.32 ERA. Doolittle converted his first save opportunity in a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.

Washington has a comfortable 11-game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the National League East. The Nationals will start ace Max Scherzer in the first game this weekend series at Chase Field.

The Nationals have won six of seven. Their six-game winning streak ended when they got only one hit against the Angels on Wednesday. Alex Meyer and two relievers handed the Nationals a 7-0 loss.

Blue Jays and Indians Look for 2nd Half Push

Cleveland Indians Baseball

Indians Have Lost Six of Seven

Friday night the Toronto Blue Jays open a three-game series against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. Both teams are in dissapointing seasons, and tonights starters are a big reason for that classification.

Tonights' two pitchers have struggled a lot in their recent starts. It may be hard to find anyone in MLB struggling more than Estrada and Bauer. Estrada is 4-6 with a 5.33 ERA, and Bauer is 7-8 with a 5.59 ERA.

Estrada's last win came on May 27. In his eight starts since he has gone 2-6 with a 9.50 ERA. Opponents are batting .344 off of him.

Bauer is 0-2 with an 11.13 ERA in his last two tilts. He was hammered in a 7-3 loss at Oakland on Sunday. Bauer matched the shortest outing of his career -- 2/3 inning. Bauer threw 43 pitches. He gave up four runs on three hits and three walks. He was removed after eight batters.

Oddsmakers have Bauer and the Indians listed as -140-moneyline favorites. The total is Holding Steady at 9.5.

West Coast Trip Not Kind to Indians

Cleveland went 1-5 on the trip out west. What has many fans worried is that they played all six-games against last place teams, Oakland and San Francisco. The horrible trip has let the Indians lead in the AL-Central shrink to 1/2-game over the Twins.

The Indians hitting has been spotty and their defense awful. Their vaunted bullpen has struggled as well. Four of their last six losses have been charged to the bullpen. A bounce-back start by Bauer could do a world of good for the Indians tonight.

In his last start against Toronto, on May 8, Bauer was the losing pitcher. He lost 4-2 but Cleveland would love a game that well pitched tonight. Bauer pitched six innings. He gave up four runs on six hits. The hurler had six strikeouts and three walks. In five career appearances against the Blue Jays he is 1-2 with a 6.20 ERA.

Estrada's last start came on Sunday. It was a 6-5 loss to Detroit. Estrada received a no-decision. He threw 94 pitches and made it through just 3 2/3 innings. He gave up four runs on five hits, with five strikeouts and four walks.  Estrada is 0-0 with a 3.75 ERA in two career starts vs. Cleveland.
