NBA Playoffs Betting Pick- Warriors at Trail Blazers Game 4

NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals

Warriors Look to Close out Trail Blazers

The Western Conference Finals resume this Monday night with the Golden State Warriors on the road as 3.5-point favorites against the Portland Trail Blazers. The total line at BetAnySports for Game 4 is set at 220 points and the tip in Portland on ESPN is set for 9 p.m.

The Warriors have lived up to expectations with a 3-0 series lead even with Kevin Durant sidelined with a calf injury. They took complete control of this best-of-seven tilt with Saturday’s come-from-behind 110-99 victory as three-point road favorites on BetAnySports’ closing line. The total stayed UNDER 221 points and it has stayed UNDER in three of their last five playoff games. Golden State is now 5-2 straight-up (4-3 against the spread) in seven road games this postseason.

The big three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have made the absence of Durant an afterthought in the first three games of this series. Curry led the way on Saturday with a game-high 36 points and he has now scored at least 33 points in the last four games with Durant on the bench. Green posted a triple-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. The Warriors are averaging 117.1 points per game in the playoffs after finishing second in the NBA in scoring during the regular season (117.7 PPG).

Lillard Has to Show Up Hurt or Not

Portland has a slim to none chance of winning this series and the way it is playing right now it probably has the same chances to extend this series past four games. In their best effort against the Warriors at home on Saturday, the Trail Blazers blew an 18-point lead. They have failed to cover as underdogs in two of the first three games and they are 4-6 ATS in their last 10 playoff games.

Damian Lillard was Portland’s leading scorer in the regular season with 25.8 PPG. He tallied 19 points in Game 3 while shooting just 27.8 percent from the field. C.J. McCollum was the team’s leading scorer with 23 points but he also struggled shooting the ball by going 7-for-20 from the floor and 2-for-10 from three-point range. Portland has failed to cross the 100-point mark in three of its last six games.

The Warriors are a veteran playoff team that knows how to close teams out when they have the clear edge. This series ends in four with Golden State taking Game 4 both SU and ATS.

MLB Saturday: Brewers vs Braves

Atlanta Braves

Braves Going for 4th Straight Victory

The Atlanta Braves will battle the Milwaukee Brewers at SunTrust Park on Saturday evening. Austin Riley has lengthened the Atlanta Braves lineup since being called up from AAA. Entering Saturday's game with the Brewers they will look to build off an explosive performance in Friday's 12-8 victory in the series opener.

Atlanta scored in each of the first three innings. They then took control with a nine-run sixth as Tyler Flowers, Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna Jr. finished with three hits apiece. Riley added two in his third big-league game.

TV: 7:15 p.m. ET, Fox; LINE: Braves -115; O/U: 9.5 Over -115.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Chase Anderson (2-0, 3.20 ERA) vs. Braves RH Kevin Gausman (2-3, 4.50)

Riley finished 2-for-5 to give the third baseman turned outfielder six hits in 12 at-bats. Homers from Dansby Swanson, Josh Donaldson and Flowers blew open the game in a 36-minute bottom of the sixth inning. The Braves won for the sixth time in seven games and finished with a season high in runs. They also matched their season best with 17 hits. It was a difficult series opener for the Brewers. They saw their three-game winning streak end with a thud. They finished with 10 hits, eight of them after the sixth inning, after the game was broken open. Atlanta's bullpen struggled after averaging 4.8 runs and 9.3 hits in winning 10 of their previous 13 games. Brewers Second baseman Keston Hiura was 2-for-3 in his major-league debut Tuesday. Since he was riding a 0-for-9 skid entering Friday. He went 2-for-4 in the series opener. Shortstop Orlando Arcia added two hits after going 4-for-22 in his previous six games.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Brewers' Anderson pitched well in two starts after moving from the bullpen into the rotation. He has not been on the mound since April 26 due to a right middle finger laceration. He has pitched to a 1.86 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 9 2/3 innings in his two starts. He walked five with nine strikeouts and two runs allowed on six hits. Anderson allowed two runs with six strikeouts in four innings Monday for Triple-A San Antonio. He is 2-0 with a 4.84 ERA in four career starts against Atlanta. He has held opponents to a .216 average this season. Milwaukee pitchers had registered a 1.81 ERA while holding opponents to a .203 average during their 10-3 stretch before Friday.

The Braves Gausman returns with one extra day of rest. He is back after dropping the appeal of a five-game suspension from throwing at Miami's Jose Urena on May 3. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings. While appealing the ban, Gausman made one of his best starts of the season. May 11th at Arizona he struck out six with two walks and one run allowed on five hits over six innings. Gausman has allowed four or more earned runs in three of his first eight starts. He gave up one run across eight innings in his only career appearance against Milwaukee last season. Swanson broke a 0-for-17 slump with his three-run homer in the sixth Friday.

The Dart Throw: Braves 7, Brewers3.

NBA Playoffs: Warriors vs. Trail Blazers Game 3

NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals

Warriors Looking to Take Control Over Trail Blazers

We might be getting a sneak preview of what the Golden State Warriors will look like next year. Stephen Curry taking his team from the injured Kevin Durant. The Warriors have already taken a 2-0 lead on the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals.

TV: 9 p.m. ET, ESPN LINE: Trail Blazers -2.5; O/U: 220.5.

Durant has been ruled out for Games 3 and 4, according to reports during the Game 2 broadcast. The Warriors protected home-court advantage despite Durant sitting out the first two games of the Western Conference finals. The Trail Blazers will try to get back into the series and avoid a 3-0 hole when they host the Warriors in Game 3.

Golden State breezed to a 116-94 win in Game 1. Game 2 was different, as they needed 37 points from Stephen Curry to help pull out of a 17-point hole and escape with a 114-111 victory. The Trail Blazers are heading home with some confidence. The way they played for most of Game 2 was a shot in the arm. They believe they can get back into the series.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Warriors Curry and Klay Thompson are being asked to step up with Durant out of the lineup. They combined to average 61.5 points in the first two games. They have proved they don't have to have Durant to dominate and play well. Draymond Green played a big part in the comeback as well and posted 16 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and five blocks in Game 2. C Kevon Looney went 6-of-6 from the floor on Thursday. He is shooting 71.9 percent in the postseason.

Curry and Thompson outplayed Portland's star backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. The duo combined to go 15-of-39 from the floor in Game 2. Lillard went 3-of-17 in the clinching Game 7 against Denver in the Western Conference semifinals. He is 10-of-28 from the floor against Golden State. Seth Curry matched his postseason high with 16 points off the bench in Game 2. Rodney Hood is averaging 14.5 points off the bench in the series.

The Dart Throw: Warriors 112, Trail Blazers 102

NBA Playoffs: Raptors vs Bucks Game 2

Raptors vs Bucks 2019 NBA Playoffs

Will Game Two Be a Classic as Well?

The Milwaukee Bucks host the Toronto Raptors at Fiserv Forum on Friday night. The Bucks rallied to win the series opener and look to make it two straight tonight in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The second-seeded Raptors led by seven after three quarters in Game 1. They tired and were outscored 32-17 over the final 12 minutes. The Bucks recovered for a 108-100 home victory.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT, TSN (Toronto) LINE: Bucks -6.5; O/U: 217.

Milwaukee scored the final 10 points of Wednesday's game while ramping up its defense down the stretch. They clamped down to prevent Toronto from making its last eight field-goal attempts. Raptors star Kawhi Leonard scored 31 points but only two came in the final stanza. They were both on free throws. He struggled through a 10-of-26 shooting performance on the night.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry averaged 12.4 points and shot 41.5 percent from the field in Toronto's first two series. He had his best game of the postseason in Game One with 30 points and seven 3-pointers. The latter a playoff career high. Getting Danny Green back on track has to be another goal as he is averaging just 5.3 points on 4-of-16 over the past three games. Pascal Siakam was 6-of-20 shooting in Game 1 and is just 27-of-76 over the past five contests.

Bucks Center Brook Lopez was superb in Game One. He opened with 29 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots. This was after averaging just 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in the five-game conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics. Lopez scored 13 of his career playoff-high in the fourth quarter. He may be back to playing a key role for Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 24 points and 14 rebounds in the opener for his sixth double-double of the postseason. Malcolm Brogdon tallied 15 points off the bench. He is averaging 12.5 points in two games since returning from a foot injury.

The Dart Throw: Bucks 110, Raptors 98

Sportsbook Rumors: Man U Interested in Sean Longstaff

According to the sports news grapevine, Manchester United is eyeing Newcastle’s midfielder, Sean Longstaff. It looks like the former is trying to add new talents during the summer transfer period. In fact, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is using this moment to rebuild the club.

However, Newcastle said that no one from United approached them. In addition, the team maintained that Longstaff is not on the market. The midfielder just signed a new contract in December that is valid until 2022.

Also, Rafael Benitez predicts a bright future for Longstaff. Many sportsbook pay per head operators expect Newcastle to offer him a new deal. That way his salary will be at par with other members of the first team.

Sean Longstaff Career with Newcastle

During his debut season in the Premier League, Longstaff made nine appearances. However, his season was cut short due to a knee ligament injury. During his debut match in February, he scored to help his team to a 2-0 win over Burnley.

Longstaff won over the local fans when he helped the Magpies win against Manchester City. It was the City’s one of four losses in the season.

Sportsbook Rumors: Man U Interested in Sean Longstaff

PPH service providers reported United was close to signing a deal with Swansea City for Daniel James. It seemed like the club will use the summer transfer market to rebuild after a troubling season.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dismissed the possibility of signing new players this summer. The club’s goal is to be in the top four. Also, they want to be part of the Champions League next season. That’s why they are looking for players who can compete in the big stage.

In addition, he said that change can’t happen overnight. Supporters are slightly concerned because new signings are overdue. However, Solskjaer has his own reasons and will look for players who can bring back the glory to Manchester United.

NBA Odds: Raptors vs. Bucks Game 1

Raptors vs Bucks 2019 NBA Playoffs

Bucks and Raptors Could be Epic Clash

The Toronto Raptors have never been to the NBA Finals. The Milwaukee Bucks haven’t been back since 1974. One of these teams is guaranteed to make it through. They’ll meet tonight in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT, Sportsnet (Toronto) LINE: Bucks -6.5; O/U: 218.

Leading MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo has dominated while helping Milwaukee outscore teams by an average of 15.3 points in the postseason. Toronto's Kawhi Leonard is again a playoff star. This time he made the decisive basket as time expired in the conference semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Bucks finished the regular season with the best record in the NBA. They beat the Raptors 3-1 SU and ATS during the regular season. NBA Playoff basketball is different than regular season hoops. The Bucks are favored to win the East and move on to the NBA Finals. One thing of note is that Marc Gasol was not with the Raps for any of those four games during the season. He came over from the Memphis Grizzlies at the trade deadline. Kawhi Leonard also sat out one of the three Toronto losses for “load management.”

The Bucks are still the most impressive team of these playoffs at 8-1 SU and ATS. Their only misstep coming in Game 1 of their Eastern semifinal with the Boston Celtics. The Raptors are 8-4 SU and 6-6 ATS. They needed the full seven games to put away the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round. O.G. Anunoby remains iffy for Toronto in this series with an appendectomy.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Raptors are in the Eastern Conference finals for just the second time in franchise history. They made it by riding Leonard's 41 points to a 92-90 victory over the 76ers, including the four bounces on the rim shot that is the first Game 7-winning buzzer-beater in NBA history. Leonard is averaging 31.8 points in 12 playoff games, including a franchise record nine straight 20-point outings. Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.4 points and 11.3 rebounds as the Bucks went 8-1 against the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics to reach the East finals for the first time 2001.

Leonard is carrying the attack for Toronto and has made them a viable threat to reach the NBA Finals. Power forward Pascal Siakam is averaging 20.8 points per game and point guard Kyle Lowry is chipping in 12.4. They are the only other Raptors averaging in double digits in the postseason. Lowry is shooting just 41.5 percent from the field.

Milwaukee's four second-round victories over the Boston Celtics were by an average of 16.3 points. Seven of its eight postseason wins have been by 10 or more points. Antetokounmpo's supporting class has been solid with small forward Khris Middleton averaging a respectable 19.1 ppg and point guards Eric Bledsoe and George Hill are chipping in 16 and 12.1 ppg, respectively. Combo guard Malcolm Brogdon is a full-go for the series after scoring 10 points in 17 minutes in the clinching win over Boston. He missed the previous seven-plus weeks with a foot injury. Middleton has made multiple 3-pointers in all nine playoff games and has made 28 overall.

The Dart Throw: Bucks 106, Raptors 102

Title weight matchup between Giannis and Kawhi, who 's
getting to the Finals?

We have a great matchup between the two best teams in the East. While the Bucks easily took care of the Celtics, the Raptors had an epic Game 7 against the Sixers ending the season for Butler, Simmons, and Embiid. JazzSports had Milwaukee beating the Boston in 6, so we were off by one game, nonetheless, we fully trusted the Bucks power to move unto the next round. This series will be tougher since they are now up against a battle-tested Khawi Leonard.

Who has the upper hand in this series?

A couple of things to point out is that the Bucks won the season series 3-1 which should give Milwaukee some confidence heading into this best-of-seven matchup. Another scenario that's favorable for the Bucks is their rest time. After finishing off Kyrie and the Celtics in 5 games, they have had time to rest their legs and get ready for their next opponent. On the other side, Raptors are forced to get started with much lesser days to get ready as they were pushed to the limit by Philadelphia.

Toronto needs to focus on stopping Giannis. But who is going to guard him? Marc Gasol sure as hell can't, he is too old and slow for the "Greek Freak" and all his arsenal of moves. They'll need massive help from the likes of Ibaka and Siakam try and stop him. On the other side, Bucks will have to come up with a game-plan to stop Leonard, the good thing is that the Bucks as a whole are a much better defensive team.

We predict the Bucks in 6.

NHL Playoffs: Game 3 of Eastern Conference Finals Tuesday Night

2019 NHL Playoffs

Bruins Looking to Take Total Control of Hurricanes

The Boston Bruins came away with a 5-2 victory at home over the Carolina Hurricanes in the opening game of the Eastern Conference Finals. They followed that up with a dominant 6-2 victory in Game 2 on Sunday. The series heads back to Carolina tonight. The Hurricanes have the daunting task of coming back from a 2-0 series deficit against a quality Boston team.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network, CBC, Sportsnet, TVAS LINE: Hurricanes -117; O/U: 5.5 Under -113.

It’s hard to put all of the blame on Hurricanes’ goaltender Petr Mrazek. Even though he did give up 11 goals through the first two games, it wasn't all on him. One would expect maybe a change in the nets, but that has yet to be seen. Curtis McElhinney owns a .947 save percentage in these playoffs and has won every game he’s played in, but will he get a chance to shine? He might just be what Carolina needs to get back into this series.

Carolina overcame a 2-0 series deficit against reigning Stanley Cup champion Washington in the opening round. They have shown they can come back. The team needs to make a statement that it can play with Boston.

The Bruins came from behind to win each of their first two series but they have outscored the Hurricanes 11-4. This has allowed them to extend their postseason winning streak to five games. Boston will look to maintain the series advantage by stealing a game in Carolina. Marcus Johansson has led the Bruins with a goal and three assists through the first two games of the series. It has been Boston’s depth that has given the Hurricanes so much difficulty.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

Perhaps the best sign for Boston in the Game 2 mauling was that its vaunted No. 1 unit contributed only two assists. The third line of Charlie Coyle, Marcus Johansson and Dalton Heinen combined for seven points. That boosted their totals to 11 goals and 17 assists in the playoffs. Krug and his fellow blue-liners did their part Sunday. They supplied three goals and three assists. Krug became the fifth Boston defenseman to register three assists in multiple games in the postseason. Boston is 4-for-9 on the power play versus Carolina. The squad has had 19 different players score in the playoffs, matching a franchise record.

The Hurricanes need to stay healthy and get some luck. Petr Mrazek was hurt in Game 2 of the second round against the New York Islanders. He did not return until the series opener against Boston. He said the injury and the long layoff were not factors in giving up 10 goals in the first two games. "I'm feeling good, no issue with that," Mrazek said. "I don't think it was that long a break, maybe nine or 10 days. I was feeling pretty good. I'm not going to look past, just look forward to the next one." Coach Rod Brind'Amour acknowledged that he is contemplating a change in net for Game 3. That would mean a switch to McElhinney. He earned three wins by turning aside 71 of 75 shots in 7 1/2 periods against New York. F Teuvo Teravainen has scored four times in four games to lift his team-high total to seven goals.

The Dart Throw: Hurricanes 3, Bruins 1

Trail Blazers Face Uphill Challenge in Warriors

The matchup in this year’s Western Conference Finals between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Golden State Warriors gets underway on Tuesday night with Game 1 of this best-of-seven clash. The Warriors are set as eight-point home favorites for the 9 p.m. tip on ESPN. BetAnySports has set the total line at 221 points, with Golden State favored by 7.5 on the point-spread.

The Trail Blazers finished the regular season at 53-29 straight-up to claim the No. 3 seed in the West. After eliminating Oklahoma City in five games, they needed the full seven games to get past the No. 2 Denver Nuggets in the conference semifinals. They covered as 5.5-point road underdogs in Sunday’s 100-96 series-clinching victory. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 211-point line after going OVER in five of the first six games against Denver.

C.J. McCollum scored a game-high 37 points in Sunday’s win while shooting 17-for-29 from the floor. Damian Lillard finished the game with 13 points after connecting on just three of his 17 shots from the field. He has been Portland’s leading scorer in the playoffs with an average of 28.4 points per game. This compares to a 25.8 scoring average during the regular season.

Golden State is back in the conference finals for the fifth time in a row after getting past Houston in six games as the top seed in the West. This followed a six-game series against the Los Angeles Clippers in the opening round. The Warriors are 5-7 against the spread in those 12 games, including a 2-4 mark ATS on their home court. The total has gone OVER BetAnySports’ closing line in eight of those 12 games.

Kevin Durant
missed Game 6 of the Houston series with a calf injury and he remains
day-to-day for Game 1. Filling the void in that game was Stephen Curry with 33
points and Klay Thompson with 27 more. The Warriors went on to win 118-113
closing as 7.5-point road underdogs. They shot 49.4 percent from the field and
16-for-38 from three-point range. Golden State has averaged 118.1 PPG in the postseason.

Even if Durant cannot go on Tuesday night, I still like Golden State covering the eight points at home to win Game 1 both SU and ATS.

NHL Playoffs: Blues vs Sharks Game 2

2019 NHL Playoffs

Sharks Look to Go 2-0 on Blues

The St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks will meet on Monday when they at SAP Center at San Jose. They will be squaring off in game two of the Western Conference Finals series in the NHL Playoffs.

Logan Couture is used to shining under the bright lights of the postseason. He wasn't alone as the San Jose won the series opener of their the St. Louis. Couture and line-mates Timo Meier and Gustav Nyquist hope to ride the momentum of their eight-point performance into Game Two.

TV: 9 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network, CBC, Sportsnet, TVA LINE: Sharks -135; O/U: 5.5 -110.

Couture joined Meier with two goals and an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win over St. Louis. Couture leads the NHL in the playoffs in goals, with 11, and points, with 17. He is three tallies behind captain Joe Pavelski's franchise record set in 2016. His point total is a good distance behind the 30 he recorded in that playoff year. The Sharks improved to 7-2 at home during this postseason. They took advantage of 12 giveaways to hand the Blues their second loss in the last seven road contests. The Blues' Ryan O'Reilly, snapped an eight-game goal drought by scoring in the second period of the opener.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Blues' Jordan Binnington is a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy. Why not, as it is on the strength of a sterling 24-5-1 run in the regular season. He did surrender five goals on 24 shots in the series opener. Jaden Schwartz set up defenseman Joel Edmundson's first-period goal to boost his point total to 12 in the playoffs. He only had 36 in the regular season. RW Vladimir Tarasenko's minus-3 rating in the series opener dropped him to minus-8. That is tied with Tampa Bay C Steven Stamkos for the worst in the playoffs. F Brayden Schenn has been held off the scoresheet in seven straight games and 11 of 14 in the playoffs.

The Sharks' Couture's 45 playoff goals trail only Washington captain Alex Ovechkin's 50. This is for the most since 2010. His double-digit goal totals in multiple postseasons made him the sixth active player with that distinction He joined Ovechkin, Jake Guentzel, Evgeni Malkin, Patrick Kane, Nikita Kucherov. Couture is only two playoff points shy of 100. Pavelski is one short of triple digits. Brent Burns, with 15 points, and Erik Karlsson, with 13, have combined for 28 points through the first 15 playoff games. That is the most for a defensive tandem since fellow former Norris Trophy recipients Paul Coffey (17) and Nicklas Lidstrom (15) accomplished the feat with Detroit in 1995.

The Dart Throw: Blues 3, Sharks 1
