NBA Odds: Thursday Night Cavs Debut, the Highlight of Opening Week

Betting on Cavs basketball

With a full slate of games scheduled for the week, the basketball
betting community can officially say goodbye to the NBA offseason. The
smattering of matchups, starting on opening day Tuesday night, will
continue into the weekend but not before the world stops to watch LeBron
James’ triumphant return back to Cleveland on Thursday.

Bet on basketball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Smack in the middle of the week’s festivities, James and the Cavaliers
will play their home opener against the New York Knicks. It’ll be the
King’s first game in a Cavs uniform since the spring before “The
Decision”.

With 5/2 odds of winning the NBA championship this season, Cleveland is a
wildly popular NBA betting option. In addition to James, the franchise
also welcomes league superstar Kevin Love to town for the first time.

The Knicks, in contrast, may struggle to establish themselves as
relevant in the Thursday night clash, but are in a position spoil James’
return. Carmelo Anthony and James have been friends and rivals since
high school, so you know the former will accept the challenge.

Don’t sleep on Anthony’s Knicks. Their 50/1 NBA futures may leave much
to be desired but they have just enough talent to spoil Cleveland’s
opening night fun.

Get your NBA odds at Bovada.

Odds to Win the 2014-15 NBA MVP Award, Rookie of the Year, Scoring Title and More….

Betting on Lebron James returning to Cleveland

“In what would have been a two way race for MVP once again,
Durant’s injury has moved LeBron James to the odds on favorite at 5/6.
Oklahoma City will still be up there with the frontrunners in odds to
win the championship, but losing Durant for the beginning of the season
will surely hinder their chances going from 5/1 to 7/1 and making the
Spurs the clear favorites out of the West at 7/2. The Thunder pre-injury
had the highest posted win total of 57.5 and it has since dropped down
to 52.5.”

NBA Odds: Instant Underdog Miami Makes for Compelling Betting Option

Betting on the 2015 NBA Rookie Seasons

Newton’s Third Law reveals that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When

it comes to betting on the NBA, such an observation is worth repeating. Everybody under the sun

has discussed how the addition of LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers makes the franchise a

legitimate title contender, but we shouldn’t dismiss how the rest of the league is reacting.

Bet on basketball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

While the Cavs have shot up to the top of the sportsbook (3/1 to win the NBA championship), the

Miami Heat, who reigned supreme there up until the day of the Decision, has fallen down the list.

The Heat managed to retain Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade while adding solid fringe stars like Luol

Deng and Josh McRoberts, but is that enough for basketball fans to take a wager on the team’s 25/1

odds of going all the way?

The offseason definitely wasn’t a success in South Beach, but the team shouldn’t be ruled out as

an Eastern Conference contender. Consider them a team in limbo while the landscape of the league

readjusts in 2014-2015. Take advantage of the uncertainty by betting on the NBA before the dust

settles.

NBA Odds: King James Returns and Pushes Cavs to Front of Sportsbook

Betting on Lebron James returning to Cleveland

A wild NBA offseason has permanently altered the basketball betting
landscape. For proof, look no further than the top of the NBA futures
where the Cleveland Cavaliers sit, despite having no more than 33 wins
in the past four seasons. Why is that? Two words: LeBron James.

Bet on basketball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

When James decided to take his talents to the shore of Lake Erie, the
NBA’s shape changed. Suddenly the prodigal son is going home, and his
first official employer is now back in the mix to contend for the title.

The Cavaliers are 15/4 to win the NBA championship, which gives you
an idea of what oddsmakers think of the new Cleveland roster. James’
supporting cast includes former Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving and the
No. 1 pick in this year’s draft, Andrew Wiggins.

Has the King matured enough to lead the Cavs further than before? Can
he fend off the reigning champion San Antonio Spurs? Even the revamped
Chicago Bulls, with whom they share an NBA Central Division, will pose a
threat. The 2014-2015 season can’t come soon enough.

Lebron James Futures and Prop Bets

Betting on Lebron James returning to Cleveland

Here are the updated odds and props now that LeBron Signed with Cleveland.

“There is no question that with the recent news of Lebron going back
home to Cleveland that they are the favorites for next season to take it
all at 4-1. With the Eastern Conference being much weaker and
essentially only a handful of teams that can give Lebron and the Cavs a
run for their money would be a shock if they do not at least make the
Conference Finals. The Heat in turn, who now may lose Bosh also, have
gone from 4-1 to 50-1, basically the Cavs and Heat flipping odds from
what we had them the day after the Spurs won the Championship. This
shows how much of an impact a player like Lebron has on odds, the last
comparable situation was Peyton Manning going to the Broncos dropped
them from 75-1 to 10-1 in a blink of an eye.”

NBA Odds: Return of LeBron Puts Cleveland in Frenzy

After splitting a pair of games last year, the Cleveland Cavaliers will welcome LeBron James back to the Quicken Loans Arena just once this season. Brace yourself as the NBA betting line favorite Miami Heat stop by for a run-in on Friday night.

Bet on the NBA at Bovada. Don't have a Bovada account? Join today.

Although the Heat have won both of the head-to-head matchups between the two clubs this season, they haven't yet had to face the irate citizens of Cleveland this year. After the debacle that was the summer of 2010's "Decision", fans have had a hard time letting go.

The animosity has had little effect on the NBA odds though, as the Heat top Bovada's NBA futures list with 17/10 odds of winning the championship. The Cavaliers come in desperately less at 250/1, setting the table for what could be a classic upset if they can manage to pull it off.

Will a little fan support be enough to propel the ragtag Cavs past the Southeast Division-leading Heat? While Miami contends for Eastern Conference supremacy the Cavs are having a hard time staying relevant in the Central.

Nobody is saying it will be easy for the Cavs as they look to come up big against their former star, but stranger things have happened in Cleveland. Bet on the NBA today.

NBA Betting Line Pits Hated LeBron Against Rookie Cav Kyrie Irving

Regardless of where they sit in the standings, any game between the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers will have extra excitement - if not animosity - attached to both it and the NBA betting lines. The fact that these two are both battling for playoff positions makes it that much more important, especially in a shortened season.

Visit Bovada for your NBA odds for the entire season.

LeBron James and the Heat have been the league's villains ever since "The Decision" and they renew their rivalry this Tuesday as they host the Cavs. Miami took three of four meetings last season, in which James averaged 27.5 points, 8.3 assists and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Cavs first-overall draft pick in 2011, Kyrie Irving, looks like the real deal so far, averaging close to 20 points per game in his rookie season.

The Heat may have the better team, but they're going into the game with only one day's rest after a pair of weekend games, while the Cavaliers will have enjoyed a rare two-day break in the schedule.

This game will be a true test for Cleveland as well, to see if they really do have what it takes to compete in the east with the big boys, or whether their early season efforts are just a flash in the pan.
