Rockets Look to Rebound Against Spurs in Game 6

2017 NBA Playoffs Spurs

Leonard Gametime Decision for Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets will meet at Toyota Center on Thursday night. The Spurs are on the verge of clinching this series and moving onto the Western Conference finals. The Golden State Warriors await the winners. The Spurs lead the series three games to two, but the injury bug may get them tonight.

Spurs all-star forward Kawhi Leonard injured his right ankle on Tuesday night. He sat out overtime and finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds in 38 minutes. Leonard pledged to play in Game 6, but uncertainty has gripped the Spurs again. Pre-game warmups will determine his status.

Oddsmakers opened the Rockets as -6.5-point favorites versus the Spurs. The game's total opened at 215. The line has held steady because of Leonard's injury status.

Houston was a 110-107 loser on the road against the Spurs. They covered the +5.5-point spread as underdogs, while the combined score (217) was profitable news for OVER bettors. With the Rockets set to host Game 6 on Thursday night hey will have to live with the fact that they could have closed out the Spurs at home. Now they face their first elimination game of this postseason. Critical errors and empty possessions down the stretch doomed the Rockets. Houston coughed up a nine-point lead and enabled San Antonio to claim the victory.

Houston surrendered 18 offensive rebounds to the Spurs. They slipped into an offensive slog as the game closed as well, scoring 22 points during the fourth quarter and overtime. Without Nene, Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni opted for a seven-man rotation.

The Spurs have their own set of concerns. Coach Gregg Popovich altered his starting lineup by inserting veteran Patty Mills at point guard. He opted for Dejounte Murray for Games 3 and 4. Murray did not play in San Antonio after being the first choice to replace Parker.

Young Oilers Push Ducks to Game 7 in Western Conf Semis

2017 NHL Playoffs Oilers

Oilers Thrashed Ducks in Game Six

The Edmonton Oilers and the Anaheim Ducks meet at Honda Center on Wednesday night in the 7th game of the Western Conference semifinals. The young Oilers roster have waded into uncharted waters in an elimination game. The Ducks veterans must answer questions about their ability to win the big game. This is the fifth consecutive season they have been on the cusp.

Game 7 became a reality after Edmonton thrashed Anaheim 7-1 on Sunday. The Oilers were powered by Leon Draisaitl's first career postseason hat trick. The third-year forward has been unstoppable against Anaheim this season. He has rang up 11 goals and 10 assists in 11 games against the Ducks. While the Ducks have lacked a defensive answer against the German forward.

The Ducks were favored to win the series. That was in danger, as it took a miraculous third-period comeback in Game 5. Anaheim scored three goals in the last 3:16 with their goaltender pulled to win the game. Many observers thought that Edmonton could not muster up a big effort to even compete in the series, much less win it. When most counted them out, Edmonton rebounded and here we stand in what should be a well played Game 7.

Could be a Game of Injured Players

Edmonton's chances should be enhanced if defenseman Oscar Klefbom returns to the lineup. He missed Game 6 with an upper-body injury and is expected to play tonight.

Anaheim will be shorthanded entering the game. Productive winger Patrick Eaves is sidelined with a foot injury that has him in a walking boot. Defenseman Kevin Bieksa is unlikely to play as well.

Oddsmakers opened the Ducks as -120-moneyline favorites versus the Oilers, while the game's total opened at 5.5. The Ducks have crept to a -129 moneyline favorite and total has held at 5.5.

Orioles go for 7th Straight at Washington

Baltimore Orioles

Orioles Own MLB's Best Record

The Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals in the 3rd game of a 4 game series on Wednesday at Nationals Park. The Battle of the Belway series has each team hoping their starting pitchers can make it deep into the game.

Wade Miley, who is is 1-1 this season with a 2.27 ERA, faced only four batters Friday. He got hit by line drives twice in the first inning against the Chicago White Sox. The left-hander exited after only two-thirds of an inning because of a left wrist bruise. Stephen Strasburg blanked the Philadelphia Phillies for 5 2/3 innings. He also hit a home run on Friday. It was the first time this season the right-hander did not go at least seven innings. Strasburg has 2.66 ERA to go along with a 3-1 record this season.

Oddsmakers opened the Nationals as -180-moneyline favorites versus the Orioles, while the game's total opened at 7.5. The moneyline now has the Nationals at -164 and the total is still at 7.5.

Baltimore was a 5-4 winner in its last match on the road against the Nationals. They won as +143 underdogs, while the total score of 9 made winners of OVER bettors. They are a bit short-handed in the bullpen now. The team still feeling the effects from two games in which the starters came out early. Miley's game plus the matchup in Boston where starter Kevin Gausman got tossed in the second inning.

The Washington bullpen has been a major source of trouble all season. After giving up three runs in 3 1/3 innings in the loss Tuesday, the Nationals' relievers are ranked last in the National League with a 5.47 ERA.

NBA Playoffs: Wizards, Celtics Face Off in Crucial Game 5 in Boston

2017 NBA Playoffs Celtics

Celtics Look to Slow Wizards John Wall

The Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards have been led by their point guards all season long. The guards should have a major say in Game 5’s result in Boston on Wednesday.

Bet on basketball at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

John Wall has steered the ship for the Wizards throughout the playoffs. He has been excellent against Boston in this series. Through the first four games of the series, Wall put up 27.8 points, 12.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.8 blocks. The Celtics don’t seem to have an answer for him – at least on the defensive end of the floor.

However, offensively, the Celtics have Isaiah Thomas, who chided the referees after Game 4, claiming they’re letting the Wizards get away with a lot of grabbing. Thomas averaged 33.0 points and 5.7 assists in three games over the Wizards. He also had an impressive 53-point performance in Game 2 against the Wizards.

The Celtics won the first two games of the series at home, but the Wizards held serve in their two home games. Boston is 8-2 SU and ATS in their last 10 games against the Wizards in Boston.

Cavs Going for Sweep in Eastern Conference Semifinals

2017 NBA Playoffs Cavs

Raptors in Must Win Against the Cavs

Air Canada Centre will host the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Sunday. Cleveland is out to a 3-0 lead in the series.

The Raptors must win Sunday  if they are to extend the best-of-seven series. They do not want to end their season losing on their home court.

Oddsmakers opened the Cavaliers as -5.5-point favorites versus the Raptors, while the game's total opened at 214.5. The Cavs are now 6.5-point favorites and the total has dropped to 212.5.

Toronto was a 115-94 loser in Game 3 of the series. They failed to cover the +3-point spread as underdogs, while the total score of 209 sent UNDER bettors to the payout window. Point guard Kyle Lowry said Saturday it is doubtful that he will be able to play Sunday. He has a sprained left ankle. Lowry, an All-Star, suffered the injury early in the second half of Game 2. He wanted to try playing in Game 3 Friday. Lowry finally give up the effort and heeded the advice of the medical staff.

The Cavaliers won their first 10 playoff games last year. They went on and won the NBA championship. The Cavs are 7-0 so far in the postseason this year. LeBron James, who scored 35 points to lead the Cavaliers on Friday should lead the way again today.
