Nationals Open 3-Game Set at Suntrust Park in Atlanta

Suntrust Park Braves Baseball

Braves Unbeaten at Suntrust Park

The Atlanta Braves battle the Washington Nationals at SunTrust Park on Tuesday Night. Rookie of the Year candidate Dansby Swanson had a walk-off single last night to give the Braves a come from behind win 5-4. The Braves swept 4-games from the San Diego Padres.

Max Scherzer will be the starting pitcher for the Nationals on this day. Right hander Scherzer is 1-1 this season with a 2.13 ERA. Scherzer has pitched well in both of his starts this season. He has a win at Philadelphia and a loss against St. Louis. In his most recent outing on April 12 against the Cardinals, Scherzer struck out 10 in six innings. He allowed three runs, only one of them earned.

Mike Foltynewicz will start for the Braves. Right hander Foltynewicz is 0-1 with a 6.35 ERA so far this season. Foltynewicz was skipped when his last turn in the rotation came up. The schedule provided additional off days and the team didn't require a fifth starter. He did not pitch well in his first start. It was in occasionally snowy conditions in Pittsburgh.

Oddsmakers opened the Nationals as -172-moneyline favorites versus the Braves, while the game's total opened at 7.5. The Nationals are now -190 on the moneline and the total has climbed to 8.

NBA Playoffs: Bulls Look to Go Up 2-0 on Celtics

2017 NBA Playoffs

Thomas to Play Again Tuesday Night

The Chicago Bulls will look to shock the Celtics and go up 2-0 in their first round NBA Playoffs Series. They take on the Boston Celtics at TD Garden Tuesday Night. Guard Isaiah Thomas of the Celtics will fly to Tacoma  on Wednesday to join his grieving family following the death of his younger sister.

Oddsmakers opened the Celtics as -7-point favorites versus the Bulls, while the game's total opened at 206.5.

Boston was a 106-102 loser in the first game of this first round NBA Playoffs Series. They failed to cover the -6.5-point spread as favorites, while the total score of 208 sent OVER bettors to the payout window. Thomas scored 33 points in the game. The eighth-seeded Bulls took care of business on the boards the entire night against the Celtics to get the win.

Chicago won its opening round matchup by outrebounding the Celtics by 20 on the offensive glass. Bobby Portis was outstanding in his first playoffs game. He finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in 29 minutes off the Chicago bench.

NBA Playoffs Tuesday Free Pick- Milwaukee at Toronto Game 2

2017 NBA Playoffs

Bucks Looking to Take Control Tuesday

The Milwaukee Bucks are in position to take a 2-0 series lead against the favored Toronto Raptors when these two Eastern Conference foes square off against one another this Tuesday night in Game 2 of this opening round best-of-seven matchup in the playoffs. BetAnySports has opened Toronto as a 7.5-point home favorite for this 7 p.m. (ET) tip on NBA TV. The total line for the game has been set at 192.5. The total has edged up to 193.5 and the side still sees Toronto as 7.5 point favorites.

The Bucks stunned Toronto 97-83 in the series opener as 7.5-point road underdogs and the total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ 197.5-point closing line. Milwaukee is now 3-1 both straight-up and against the spread in its last four games after failing to cover in eight of its previous 12 contests. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in its last six games.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way in Saturday’s win with 28 points and he has been the Bucks’ leading scorer all season long with an average of 22.9 points per game. Malcolm Brogdon added 16 points and he went 4-for-7 from three-point range. Milwaukee is averaging 103.6 PPG, but it has not been able to reach that total in its last six games.

Raptors Look to Even NBA Playoffs Series at One

The Raptors closed out the regular season with a SU four-game winning streak while going 2-1-1 ATS after knocking off Cleveland 98-83 as four-point road favorites in their final game. With the total staying UNDER in Saturday’s loss, it has now stayed UNDER four of their last six contests. The Raptors went a SU 28-13 at home in the regular season, but they have failed to cover in four of their last five home games.

Toronto was able to open up a five-point lead on the Bucks at halftime of Game 1, but it was only able to post 32 points in the second half. DeMar DeRozan scored a team-high 27 points and Serge Ibaka added 19 points in the losing cause, but the rest of the team only managed to produce a total of 37 points. The Raptors were 10th in the NBA in scoring during the regular season with an average of 106.9 PPG, but they have failed to hit that number in five of their last six games.

I like Toronto’s chances to even up this series at a game a piece with the SU win on Tuesday night, but my “best bet” pick is the UNDER on BetAnySports’ 193.5-point total line in another defensive battle.

NBA Playoffs: Spurs Look to Go up 2-0 on Grizzlies

2017 NBA Playoffs

Grizzlies Routed Game #1 in NBA Playoffs Series

The Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs meet in Game #2 of their opening round NBA Playoffs on Monday when they meet at AT&T Center. The Spurs rode a 19-0 surge over a five-minute span in the third and fourth quarters to turn a tight contest into a 111-82 rout.

Oddsmakers opened the Spurs as -10.5-point favorites versus the Grizzlies, while the game's total opened at 190. The Spurs have settled in as 11-point favorites and the total is at 189.

The Spurs were a 111-82 winner in their Game #1 matchup against the Grizzlies. They covered the -9.5-point spread as favorites, while the total score (193) made winners of OVER bettors. Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with a career-playoff-high-tying 32 points. 15 of those came in the third quarter when he matched the Grizzlies' entire offensive output.

The Grizzlies failed to cover the +9.5-point spread as underdogs, while the total score (193) made winners of OVER bettors. Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 32 points. 25 of those came in the first half when he outscored the rest of his teammates combined. Gasol said the Spurs defended better as a team, especially in the paint, in the second half.

NBA Playoffs: Pacers and Cavs Game 2 Monday Night

2017 NBA Playoffs

Lebron is 45-7 Lifetime in First Round of NBA Playoffs

The Indiana Pacers and the Cleveland Cavaliers meet at Quicken Loans Arena in Game 2 of their opening round NBA Playoffs Series. LeBron James has never lost a first-round series. He is 45-7 lifetime in opening-round games. His teams have won the last 18 in row.

Oddsmakers opened the Cavaliers as -7.5-point favorites versus the Pacers, while the game's total opened at 212. Bettors have moved Cleveland to -8.5 and the total is now settled at 208.

Cleveland was a 109-108 winner in Game #1. The Cavaliers failed to cover as a -9-point favorite. The 217 combined points moved the game OVER for totals bettors. James was brilliant in Game 1. He had 32 points, 13 assists and six rebounds in 43 minutes. He needs only 37 points to pass Kobe Bryant (5,640 points) for third place in NBA playoff scoring history. King James needs two more rebounds to pass Robert Parish (1,765 rebounds) for eighth in postseason history.

Indiana lost Game 1 of the series 109-108. The Pacers covered in that game as a +9-point underdog. The 217 combined points took the game OVER the total. The Pacers lost when C.J. Miles missed an open 14-footer at the buzzer. They also went scoreless for nearly three minutes toward the end of the fourth quarter. This was after Jeff Teague's 3-pointer put Indiana ahead 105-103 with 3:31 left.

MLS Odds: Can Sounders Shake Off Vancouver?

Vancouver MLS Odds

MLS Odds Favor Whitecaps Against Champs

This hasn’t been an ideal start to the season for the defending champs. The Seattle Sounders have just one victory after five MLS matches, but at least they’re outperforming the Vancouver Whitecaps. These Cascadian neighbors will face off Friday (10 PM ET) at BC Place.

The Whitecaps are slim +140 home favorite tonight. Seattle is priced at +195 and the draw very much in play at +235.

Vancouver also have just one win after five matches, but they’ve lost three times, while the Sounders have three draws to show for their efforts. Seattle got off to a slow start last year, too, but stormed their way to MLS Cup glory after firing head coach Sigi Schmid. They’ll almost certainly take a step back this year now that Brian Schmetzer is on full-time; however, that has more to do with the extreme roster turnover MLS teams experience than any fault of Schmetzer’s.

That turnover should benefit the Whitecaps after they missed the playoffs last year. There are considerable flaws on this team, most notably on defense, but they’ve got a proven goal-scorer in former Sounders forward Fredy Montero, who’s on loan from Tianjin TEDA of the Chinese Super League.

NHL Playoffs: First Round Tilt in Edmonton

2017 NHL Playoffs

Sharks and Oilers Square off in NHL Playoffs

The NHL Playoffs have started in earnest in 2017. In the second game of a best-of-seven series, the San Jose Sharks (46-29-7) will face the Edmonton Oilers (47-26-9) at the Rogers Centre. After finishing second in the Pacific Division, and making the playoffs for the first time since 2006, the Oilers have the offensive power and dependable goaltending that they’ve sorely missed over the last decade. Edmonton was a symbol of consistency in 2016-17, ranking 8th in team offence (2.96 goals scored per game) and 8th in team defence (2.52 goals against per game). After pacing the NHL in points this regular season with 30 goals and 70 assists, the hockey world is eagerly anticipating Connor McDavid’s first career playoff appearance.

Oddsmakers have the Oilers as -135 favorites on the moneyline and the total is at 5.

After coming two wins away from winning their first ever Stanley Cup last season, the San Jose Sharks have an edge in experience compared to the youth-infused Oilers. Martin Jones is one of those returning players; he won 35 games this season, but struggled with a .912 save percentage. Despite that, the Sharks managed to rank 5th in team defence during the regular season, surrendering a minuscule 2.44 goals per game. Game 2 will determine who carries momentum into San Jose.

NBA Free Tuesday Pick- Oklahoma City Thunder at Minnesota Timberwolves

OKC Thunder

Thunder Have 6th in West Locked Up

The Oklahoma City Thunder wrap up their Northwest Division season series against the Minnesota Timberwolves this Tuesday night as the featured matchup on NBA TV. BetAnySports has opened Minnesota as a slight one-point home favorite for this 8 p.m. (ET) start with the total set at 216.5.

The Thunder are set as the sixth seed in the Western Conference playoffs with a straight-up record of 46-34 heading into their final two regular season games. They have won three of their last four games both SU and against the spread with the total staying UNDER in three of those outings. Sunday’s 106-105 victory against Denver as five-point road underdogs improved their overall record on the road this season to 18-22 both SU and ATS.

Russell Westbrook set a new single-season NBA record in Sunday’s win with his 42nd triple-double of the year. He posted 50 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists to help his team pull out the win. On the year, he has averaged 31.9 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists in pursuit of the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award. The Thunder are ranked 11th in the league in scoring with an average of 106.7 points per game.

Timberwolves Still Struggling

Minnesota went 0-for-4 in its recent four-game road trip while going 1-2-1 ATS. It came up on the wrong end of a tight 110-109 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers this past Sunday as a six-point road favorite. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in that game after going OVER in six of its last seven games. The Timberwolves are an even 20-20 both SU and ATS at home this season.

The duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins continue to point to a bright future for the Timberwolves despite this season’s SU record of 31-49. Towns leads the team in scoring with 25.1 PPG and he posted 40 points and 21 rebounds in Sunday’s loss. Wiggins scored a game-high 41 points against Denver on Sunday to raise his season-scoring average to 23.7 PPG. Minnesota is averaging 105.5 PPG on the year and it has exceeded that number in seven of its last eight games.

Even though nothing is on the line for Oklahoma City on Tuesday night, I like its chances to win the season series against its division rivals three games to one with a SU victory to pay off on BetAnySports’ one-point betting line.
