Yankees and Angels Battle in Late West Coast Action

LA Angels Baseball

Maybin Filling Nice for Trout as Angels Toil in 2nd Place

The fans at Angel Stadium will see the AL East leading New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night. The Angles have just been trying to hold serve while superstar Mike Trout is out with a thumb injury.

While Cameron Maybin isn't expected to fill Trout's shoes offensively at all, Maybin is expected to play good defense in center field while Trout recovers from surgery to repair a torn thumb ligament. Maybin was expected to play left field for the Angels. Management finally decided that he was the best option to replace the AL MVP in center field.

Maybin got hurt himself, straining an oblique muscle that landed him on the disabled list, not long after Trout was injured. He is back now and he should get the start in center field tonight against the Yankees. Maybin started out slow, hitting only .209, but has picked it up to .292 since the end of April.

Pineda a Different Pitcher

The Yankees will trot Michael Pineda out to the mound in this one. Right hander Pineda has a 7-3 record and a 3.39 ERA this season. Pineda has been consistently good all season. He has only given up three earned runs or fewer in 10 of his 12 starts. He is 1-1 with a 7.50 ERA in two career starts against the Angels. Tonight they will be facing a different Pineda than they've seen in the past. He has developed a change-up and has learned to pitch once he loses his quality stuff.

Starting this game for the Angels will be Matt Shoemaker. The right hander has a 4.22 ERA to go along with a 6-3 record this season. Shoemaker is set to face the Yankees for the third time in his career. He lost both previous starts against the Bronx Bombers. He gave up six runs and 15 hits in 13 1/3 innings.

Oddsmakers opened the Yankees as -125-moneyline favorites versus the Angels, while the game's total opened at 8. The Yankees are now -160-moneyline favorites and the total has held steady.

In their last action, Los Angeles was a 3-2 winner on the road against the New York Yankees. Bettors on Los Angeles at 112 on the moneyline collected their winnings from that game, while the total score (5) sent UNDER bettors home happy as well.

Last time out for New York, they were a 3-2 loser as they battled the Los Angeles Angels. Moneyline bettors who got the Angels at 112 were rewarded, while the 5 combined runs moved the game UNDER for totals bettors.

With Lance McCullers, Dallas Keuchel, Charlie Morton and Collin McHugh on the disabled list the Astros have been forced to make some tough decisions.

Francis Martes who starts for the Astros. Right hander Martes is 0-0 with a 9.81 ERA so far this season. He is making his first Major League start.

Cashner is 2-4 with a 4.41 ERA over 12 career games against Houston. That includes four career starts, including two this season. Cashner, 3-2 with a 3.94 ERA over his last five starts. Warriors Down Cavs in Game 5, Reclaim NBA Title

Warriors 2017 NBA Title

NBA Title Going Back to Golden State

The Cleveland Cavaliers wouldn’t go down without a fight. But down they went, losing 129-120 to the Golden State Warriors Monday night in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. It was only a push for the Warriors as 9-point home favorites; however, the victory was enough to eliminate the Cavs and reclaim the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy for Oakland.

Bet on the NBA at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Golden State started the 2016-17 campaign as a –110 chalk to win the title after signing Kevin Durant in the offseason. Then the Dubs went into the Finals as –240 favorites against the defending champions. Durant proved his worth by scoring over 30 points in each of the five games against Cleveland, earning playoff MVP honours and cashing in as the +200 favourite before Game 1.

The Warriors finished the 2017 NBA playoffs with a sparkling record of 16-1 SU and 10-5-1 ATS. It was a very strong effort from the Cavs (13-5 SU, 9-7-2 ATS) as well, definitely a step up from their play late in the regular season. But it’s Golden State opening at –150 on the 2018 championship futures market, well ahead of Cleveland at +300. And will LeBron James still be with the Cavs next season?

MLB Free Tuesday Pick- Los Angeles Dodgers at Cleveland Indians

Cleveland Indians Baseball

Dodgers Road Play Not Very Good

Two second-place teams in their respective divisions face one another in Game 1 of a three-game interleague matchup this Tuesday night. The Los Angeles Dodgers go on the road to face the Cleveland Indians in a 7:10 p.m. (ET) start at Progressive Field. The Dodgers have been opened as -162 road favorites by BetAnySports with the total set at 7.5. The Dodgers are now a -165-moneyline favorite.

Los Angeles wrapped up six-game home stand with this past weekend’s three-game sweep against Cincinnati. The Dodgers outscored the Reds by a combined 21-13 total. The total went OVER in all three games. The Dodgers are only a game and a half out of first place in the NL West at 38-25. The "Men in Blue" fall below .500 on the road. The team is 14-15 through 29 road games this season. The total has stayed UNDER in five of their last seven road games.

The Dodgers send their ace Clayton Kershaw to the mound for Tuesday’s series opener. Kershaw is 8-2 going into this game. He won last Thursday's start by a score of 2-1 against Washington. He held the Nationals to just one run on a solo home run. Kershaw threw seven innings. The left-hander’s ERA on the year stands at 2.20 with a 0.90 WHIP.

Cleveland Indians Look to Improve Play at Home

Cleveland remains a game and a half in back of Minnesota in the AL Central. The division race is heating up after taking two of three from the Chicago White Sox at home this past weekend. The Indians are just 14-15 at home this season. This includes a 6-2 record in their last six games at Progressive Field. They are 31-29 overall. The total has stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in seven of their last 10 games.

It is Trevor Bauer’s turn in the starting rotation for Cleveland and the right-hander has struggled this season with some control issues that have led to a shaky 6.10 ERA through his first 12 starts. He only lasted 3.1 innings against Colorado his last time out after allowing four earned runs on five hits to pick up the loss. He is now an even 5-5 on the year. The Indians did get some good production from its bats in the recent series against the White Sox with a combined 14 runs in three games.

Kershaw has been in a zone lately and Cleveland is still ranked 14th in the AL in scoring runs which all adds up to a play on Los Angeles to win this Tuesday night.

Nationals Host Braves On Monday Night

Suntrust Park Braves Baseball

Braves Looking for Consistency

The Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals meet at Nationals Park on Monday night. The way both starters have been throwing lately, this should be a great pitching matchup.

The Braves will give the ball to starter Mike Foltynewicz in this one. Right hander Foltynewicz is 4-5 this season with a 3.48 ERA. Folty is 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in three starts against Washington in his career. He has gone 14 scoreless innings in his last two starts. He has improved with better fastball control as the season has matured. On Wednesday he fired seven scoreless innings in a 14-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Starting this game for the Nationals will be Stephen Strasburg. The right hander has a 2.80 ERA to go along with a 7-2 record this season. Strasburg has been stellar in recent outings against the new-look Braves. That was not the case earlier in his career. The former No. 1 overall draft choice is 6-1 with a 2.68 ERA in eight starts against the Braves since the start of the 2015 season.

Before that, he was only 4-7 with a 4.24 ERA from 2010 to 2014 vs. Atlanta.

Nationals Just got Swept by Rangers

Oddsmakers opened the Nationals as -230-moneyline favorites versus the Braves, while the game's total opened at 8.5.

The Nationals were a 5-1 loser in their most recent outing on the road against the Texas Rangers. That made winners of bettors who got Texas at 231 on the moneyline, while the total score (6) was good news for UNDER bettors. They were swept in all three games against the Rangers.

In their last action, Atlanta was a 2-1 loser on the road against the New York Mets. Bettors on New York at 127 on the moneyline collected their winnings from that game, while the total score (3) sent UNDER bettors home happy as well.

NBA Finals Game 5: Can Warriors Put Away Cavs?

2017 NBA Finals

Can Cavs Repeat History in NBA Finals?

The Cavs will be riding the momentum of a hot-shooting in a 137-116 triumph in Game 4 of the NBA Finals in Cleveland on Friday. Tonight they attempt to complete another Finals comeback. This one from a 3-0 series hole. Golden State still holds a 3-1 series edge. Game 5 starts tonight around 9 pm EST on ABC.

The Cavaliers rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven series in 2016. They stunned the defending champs in 2016 using a 112-97 win in Game 5 in Oakland as a springboard.

In game 4 of the 2017 finals Cleveland burned the Warriors on 24-of-45 shooting from 3-point range on Friday. The Cavaliers outscored Golden State 72-33 from beyond the 3-point line. Oddsmakers opened up the Warriors as 9-point favorites in Game 5. The total was set at 230.5. After almost three days of wagering, gamblers have bet the line to 8.5 and the total is at 231.

Can Warriors Continue Home Dominance?

The Warriors dominated their two previous home games in the series. They did so by winning 113-91 and 132-113. It was the first time in NBA Finals history that one team opened with consecutive wins by 19 or more points.

Warriors fans are hoping to share in the fun this time around. No San Francisco Bay Area professional team has won a championship at home since the Oakland Athletics captured the 1974 World Series. The Warriors captured the 2015 title in Cleveland with a 105-97 victory in Game 6. They lost Game 7 last year at home to the Cavs 93-89.

NBA Finals Free Pick- Golden State at Cleveland Game 3

2017 NBA Finals

Warriors Undefeated in Playoffs going into NBA Finals Game 3

The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers resume play in this season’s NBA Finals on Wednesday night. The game, at Quicken Loans Arena, is Game 3 of this best-of-seven showdown. BetAnySports has opened the Warriors as three-point road favorites for the 9 p.m. (ET) start on ABC and the betting line for the total has been set at 225.5 points. The line is now Golden State -3.5 and the total is sitting at 227.

Golden State has jumped out to the early 2-0 series lead with a pair of victories at home. The Victories were both straight-up and against the spread. After hammering Cleveland 113-91 in the series opener as 7.5-point favorites, the Warriors rolled to a 132-113 win on Sunday night as nine-point favorites on BetAnySports’ closing line. The total went OVER 221.5 points in that game and it has now gone OVER in six of their last seven postseason games.

Both Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry played a major role in Golden State’s perfect 12-0 SU run through the first three rounds of the playoffs while going 8-4 ATS. Durant has been the team’s leading scorer against Cleveland with 71 combined points and Curry posted a triple-double (32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists) in Sunday night’s win. The Warriors led the NBA in scoring during the regular season with 115.9 points per game and they have elevated that average to 118.9 points through 14 postseason contests.

Can Cavs Turn it Around in Game 3 of NBA Finals?

Cleveland is going to have to make the most of its home court to climb back into this series. It went 5-1 SU in six previous playoff games at home this year, but that record falls to 2-4 ATS. The total went OVER BetAnySports’ closing line in five of those six outings. The Cavaliers have failed to cover ATS in four of their last five games overall to fall to 7-6-2 ATS in 15 playoff games.

LeBron James has led the way for Cleveland so far with 28 points and 15 rebounds in Game 1 followed by 29 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists in Sunday night’s loss. The Cavaliers were able to connect on 50.3 percent of their shots from the field through the first three rounds of this year’s playoffs, but they shot just 34.9 percent in Game 1 and 45 percent in Game 2 against Golden State. In Sunday’s loss, they went an ineffective 8-for-29 from three-point range.

Cleveland could turn things around on Wednesday night at home if everything goes its way, but given just how good the Warriors have looked in their past six games, I am not about to start betting against them now.

The Finals: Cavaliers-Warriors Series Shifts to Cleveland

NBA The Finals

Cavs Have Work Cut Out in The Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t been able to hang with the Golden State Warriors in Games 1 and 2 of The Finals. However, that was the case in last year’s NBA Finals too before they came back and won it.

Oddsmakers opened the line with Golden State as a 2.5-point favorite. Oddsmakers have the line now with Golden State as a -3.5-point favorite.  and The total has moved from 225.5 to 227.

Bet on basketball at Bovada and get a 50% bonus.

The Cavaliers have been run off the court in Games 1 and 2. They have been outplayed by losing both by 22 and 19 points. LeBron James has played about as well as they could have asked. The "King" put up 29 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds in Game 2. The Warriors have been in complete control in the fourth quarters of each game.

Golden State is averaging an incredible 122.5 points per game in the NBA Finals. Kevin Durant has been incredible, averaging 35.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per game. Paired with Steph Curry, who’s averaging 30.0 points per game in the Finals, it’s hard to see how the Cavaliers can win this series unless one of these two cools off.

Golden State has won all 14 of their playoffs games so far. They’ll somehow have to lose four of the next six games if they’re to fall in the NBA Finals.
