Purdue and Ohio State Meet in Big Ten Action

Purdue Athletics

One Game Separates Purdue and Ohio State in Big Ten

The fans at Mackey Arena will see the 14th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes and the 3rd-ranked Purdue Boilermakers when they take their seats on Wednesday. Tip-off for this key Big Ten matchup is set for 8:30. The Big Ten Network will have the telecast.

Oddsmakers opened the Boilermakers as -8.5-point favorites versus the Buckeyes, while the game's total opened at 144.5. The line is now Purdue -10 and the total has went up to 145.5.

The Buckeyes trail Purdue by one game in the conference standings with six games remaining. A win Wednesday would force Purdue into a must-win situation Saturday at No. 4 Michigan State. Ohio State defeated the Spartans 80-64 on Jan. 7. The Boilermakers lead Michigan State by 1.5 games.

Purdue is Tough at Home

Purdue was a 78-76 winner in its last match on the road against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. They failed to cover the -15.5-point spread as favorites.

The Boilermakers own the second-longest home win streak in the nation. The streak is 21 straight at Mackey Arena dating back to 2015. They will face arguably their toughest individual matchup of the season tonight in Ohio State forward Kieta Bates-Diop.

Purdue also holds the nation's longest active win streak, at 17 straight games.

The Boilermakers are the top scoring team in the conference. They are averaging 84 points. Purdue also ranks third in scoring defense, allowing 64.2.

Ohio State Brings Talented Lineup to Purdue

Ohio State won its last outing, a 75-67 result against the Illinois Fighting Illini on February 04. They failed to cover in that game as a -13-point favorite.

Ohio State forward Kieta Bates-Diop is widely considered the top candidate for Big Ten Player of the Year. He is the conference's leading scorer, averaging 20.2 points, and ranks third in rebounds at 8.9.

Cavs Host Wolves on Eve of Trade Deadline

Cleveland Cavs

Will Cavs Make a Trade Deadline Deal?

The Cleveland Cavs may haven't made a deal yet. That could change at any time by the trade dealine (8 PM ET, ESPN). The team is struggling and Kevin Love is out six to eight weeks with a broken hand. The Cavaliers (30-22 SU, 14-37-1 ATS) very well could swing a deal or two before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

Oddsmakers have the Timberwolves as a 4-point favorite. The total is at 224. Tip-off is set for 8 PM ET, ESPN.

Bet on basketball at Bodog and get a free 100% bonus.

Despite Love’s absence, Cleveland’s biggest need may be at point guard. Isaiah Thomas hasn’t played very well since making his season debut on January 2. There was talk that the Cavs would acquire George Hill from the Sacramento Kings. That talk died down after Love went on the shelf.

Cleveland may decide to stick with Thomas as he tries to get back on track following last year’s hip injury.

The Timberwolves (34-22 SU, 28-26-2 ATS) have played very well this year. Jimmy Butler, who they picked up  from Chicago during the offseason, has been instrumental. He has proven to be the leader the young T-Wolves have needed.

There’s been some minor buzz around a possible trade with Charlotte. The T-Wolves would package PG Jeff Teague to the Hornets in exchange for PG Kemba Walker. If that doesn't materialize Minnesota still looks ready for their first playoff run since 2004. They hammered Cleveland 127-99 last month as 1.5-point home dogs.

Super Bowl LII Preview and Pick- Philadelphia vs. New England

Super Bowl LII Odds

David vs. Goliath in Super Bowl LII

The top seed in each NFL conference squares off against one another this Sunday in Super Bowl LII. The Philadelphia Eagles face the New England Patriots. Game time on NBC from US Bank Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m.

VietBet currently has New England favored by 4.5 points with the total set at 48.5.

Eagles Get to Super Bowl LII With Backup QB and Defense

The Eagles have grown accustom to playing the role of underdog since losing Carson Wentz at quarterback in Week 14. They closed as 2.5-point home underdogs in a 15-10 victory against Atlanta in the Divisional Round. The Eagles crushed Minnesota 38-7 in the NFC Championship as three-point underdogs at home.

They are 12-6 against the spread on the year. That included a 4-2 record ATS when getting points on the VietBet closing line. The total has gone OVER in four of those six games.

Nick Foles took over for Wentz after the injury. He did look shaky in his final two regular season games, he has done an excellent job at filling a huge void in two postseason starts. Foles ended the game against the Vikings with 352 passing yards and three passing touchdowns.

He also had zero interceptions and just one sack for a six-yard loss. Philadelphia also has the third-ranked rushing offense in the league in what remains a very balance attack.

Patriots Back in Familiar Position in Super Bowl LII

New England was expected to defend last season’s Super Bowl title. They were the clear favorite to once again win the AFC. It stayed true to course with a SU 15-3 run through its first 18 games while going 12-6 ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in 10 of those 18 games.

The Patriots did have some trouble getting past Jacksonville in the AFC title game. They were eight-point home favorites in a 24-20 win. This was just the second time in their last 12 games they failed to cover VietBet closing spread.

You have come to expect New England’s offense to be one of the best in the NFL. Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady had demanded excellence at the helm.

He was at his best against the Jaguars. That was even with his top receiver Rob Gronkowski knocked out of that game with a concussion. Brady’s two fourth-quarter touchdown throws erased a 10-point deficit. The comeback sent his team to its fourth Super Bowl appearance in seven seasons.

Gronk has been cleared to play on Sunday. This will make things even tougher for Philly to play the role of spoiler.

I would still lean towards the Eagles plus the points on Sunday. This matchup is too close to call in my book. What I do like is the OVER 48.5 points on the total line with both teams putting up at least 24 points.

UFC Fight Night 125 -- Lyoto Machida’s Last Stand?

UFC Fight Night 125

UFC Fight Night 125 Promises Some Fireworks

UFC Fight Night 125 will feature Lyoto Machida in the main event. Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida is one of the greatest fighters ever to step foot inside the Octagon. Machida was knocked out by Derek Brunson in his last fight.

UFC Fight Night 125 could be the last time Machida is seen in action. He’s a +225 underdog against Eryk Anders, who is listed at–265.  Anders comes into this bout with a perfect 10-0 professional record.

The entire UFC Fight Night 125 card will be shown on Fox Sports 1 at 10 pm EST.

Bet on MMA at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Machida is 22-8 lifetime and has a 14-8 record in the UFC. The former Light Heavyweight champion, back in 2009-10, has a 3-4 record since moving down to Middleweight. He has three straight losses heading into Saturday’s matchup.

Andrews is a former linebacker from the Alabama Crimson Tide and has a 2-0 record inside the Octagon for UFC. He knocked out Rafael Natal (–110) in the first round. He them defeated Markus Perez (+225) via unanimous decision.

Saturday’s co-main event  was supposed to be a Bantamweight fight between John Dodson (19-9 lifetime, 8-4 UFC) and Brazilian native Pedro Munhoz (15-2, 1 NC lifetime; 5-2, 1 NC UFC). The fight was taken off the card after Munhoz missed his weight by being 4-pounds too heavy.
