Seton Hall Hosts Villanova

Pirates of Seton Hall

Nova Looks to Avoid Back to Back Losses Against Seton Hall

The 4th-ranked Villanova Wildcats and the Seton Hall Pirates will meet on Wednesday at the Prudential Center. This key Big East matchup will be televised by Fox Sports 1 and the tip-off is scheduled for 8 pm EST.

Villanova will try to avoid rare back-to-back losses tonight. The Wildcats haven't dropped two straight since the 2012-13 season. They lost to Louisville in the Big East Tournament and followed that up with a loss to North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament.

Oddsmakers opened the Wildcats as -6.5-point favorites versus the Pirates, while the game's total opened at 161.5. The line has held steady, but the total has dropped to 160.5.

Jay Wright's Wildcats' have won the past four regular- season Big East titles. They currently sit in second place, one game behind No. 3 Xavier.  After the Cats' 115th meeting with Seton Hall, the Wildcatsend the season at home to Georgetown.

Seton Hall Looking for 4th Straight Win

The Pirates outlasted St. John's 81-74 in overtime at Madison Square Garden. It was their third consecutive victory. They won without forward Desi Rodriguez, who suffered an ankle sprain earlier in the week in a win at Providence.

Rodriguez, the Pirates leading scorer at 18.8 points per game, is questionable for Wednesday night's game.

Seton Hall is also facing some off-the-court trouble. Former Seton Hall guard Isaiah Whitehead's name appeared alongside amounts of $26,136 and $37,657 in the loan ledger of NBA agent Andy Miller.  The widespread federal corruption investigation into college basketball is sparing no one it seems.

Rodriguez, Khadeen Carrington and Angel Delgado gives the Pirates a trio of experienced scorers. The three have a combined 4,875 career points. They are among the top 20 all-time scorers in the history of the program. Carrington leads the trio in 10th place, followed by Rodriguez at 15th, and Delgado a few spots behind at 18th.

No other class in program history had more than one player on the top-20 all-time scoring list.

Villanova Was Taken to Overtime in Last Outing

The Wildcats played its first overtime game of the season at Creighton. It was also the first since an 82-79 loss to Providence in January 2016. The Bluejays rallied from a 68-60 deficit with 4:30 remaining in regulation to force overtime. They then outscored the Wildcats in OT to post an 89-83 win.

Villanova beat Seton Hall this earlier this season. The Wildcats broke open a close game in the second half to win 92-76 on Feb. 4. Omari Spellman posted one of his nine double-doubles with 26 points and 11 rebounds. The Wildcats have won six of the last seven against Seton Hall.

Jalen Brunson leads six Wildcat players in double figures with 19.3 points a game. Brunson was the Big East's preseason player of the year and a national player of the year candidate.

Villanova has lost only 15 games since the new Big East was configured in 2013. Seton Hall, Butler and Creighton are tied for the most wins against the Wildcats. All the programs have three apiece.

Paul, Rockets Visit Tough Clippers Team

Clippers Basketball

Clippers Still Finding Selves "AG" - After Griffin

The Los Angeles Clippers (31-27 SU, 33-24-1 ATS) look different today than last year. They don’t have Chris Paul or Blake Griffin anymore. That hasn't slowed them down.  The Clippers are 6-3 SU and ATS since trading Griffin to Detroit.

They’ll be reunited with Paul this Wednesday when they host his new team, the Houston Rockets (46-13 SU, 30-28-1 ATS). Tip-off is at 10:30 PM ET on ESPN. Oddsmakers have the Rockets as 8-point road favorites. The total is at 227.

Los Angeles isn’t quite as potent without Paul manning the point. The seven players they received from Houston in their offseason trade have helped the Clippers stay balanced. That are also in the thick of the playoff race in the competitive in the Western Conference.

The Rockets are first in the league standings after 12 straight wins, and going 7-5 ATS. They’ve addressed their depth concerns by adding veterans Joe Johnson and Brandan Wright after their contracts were bought out.

Health could be a problem for the Clippers going into Wednesday’s game. Oft-injured forward Danilo Gallinari is on the shelf again with a right hand contusion. He could be back in action any day. SG Avery Bradley, who came over from the Pistons in the Griffin trade, is out until March with a lingering groin issue.

NBA Tuesday Free Pick- Washington Wizards at Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks

Bucks & Sixers Want Good Start to 2nd Half

The Washington Wizards square off against the Milwaukee Bucks in one of the TNT featured games on Tuesday. This battle between two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference should be a good one to watch. Game time is set for 8 p.m.

VietBet opened the Bucks as four-point home favorites with the total set at 210.5. The line i snow Milwaukee -3 and the total is up to 212.

Bucks Look to Cool Down Hot Wizards

The Wizards come into this game at 4-1 both straight-up and against the spread in their last five games. The total has stayed UNDER the VietBet closing line in three of the five outings. They are currently holding down fourth place in the East at 35-25. They have a 29-31 record ATS.

Washington is 17-14 SU (18-13 ATS) on the road this season. This is after going 6-1 (SU and ATS) in its seven road games.

Washington continues to press on without the services of veteran guard John Wall while he rehabs his knee. His back-court partner, Bradley Beal, has done a good job at filling the void. He has averaged a team-high 23.7-points during the absence. He put up 24 points in Sunday’s 109-94 victory against Philadelphia at home to snap the 76ers’ recent seven-game winning streak.

The Wizards are 11th in the league in scoring with an average of 107.4 points per game.

Bucks Look to Have More Consistent 2nd Half

The Bucks are sixth in the East at 33-26 SU after dropping a tight 123-121 overtime decision against New Orleans on Sunday.  They were a 4.5-point favorite at VietBet. They are an even 3-3 SU with a 2-4 record ATS in their last six games. The total went OVER in four of their last five outings.

Milwaukee is 5-2 SU in its last seven home games. They have failed to cover in five of those seven contests. The Bucks are 19-11 SU at home with a 10-18-2 record ATS.

Three of Milwaukee’s five starters scored at least 20 points in Sunday’s loss. Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to lead the team in points at 27.6 a pop, in rebounds at 10.3, and assists at 4.90.  He is converting on 53.5 percent of his shots from the floor.

The Bucks are ranked 17th in the league in scoring with an average of 105.2 PPG. They are allowing that exact same amount of points on defense.

I like the Bucks at home SU. I am not all that confident they can pay off ATS. The top play in this matchup is the OVER 212 on the VietBet total line.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards Preview

Cavaliers NBA Basketball

Cavaliers Look to Start 2nd Half off Strong

Two of the top four seeds in the East battle Thursday night on TNT to kick-off the unofficial second-half of the NBA season. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards both went into the All-Star break on high notes. Both teams winning 7 of their last 10 games.

The Wizards also won their last two games. The Cavs come in on a four-game win streak. Cleveland sits in third place in the East, with Washington just 1.5 games behind in the fourth spot. At 34-22 on the season the Cavs are 18-37-1 ATS. The Wizards sit at 33-24 and are 27-30 ATS.

Online sports betting lines for this contest show the Cavaliers as 5.5-point favorites. The total is at 221.

Wizards Without Wall Against Cavaliers

The Wizards will be without John Wall in this contest. He is expected to be out until mid-March. Washington has played surprisingly well without Wall lately. The team is currently searching for another point guard to add to the roster while he’s out.

In their last game, Washington rallied all the way from a 27-point deficit to take down the Knicks. Bradley Beal put up 37 points in that contest. Beal will continue to the lead way without Wall. Otto Porter Jr and Markieff Morris will need to supplement Beal’s scoring in this one for the Wizards to match Cleveland’s firepower.

Washington looks to be playing more free and easy without Wall and some of the Wizards players have even not so subtly hinted at this fact. Everyone is getting the chance to contribute which makes them dangerous.

Cavaliers Look to Battle On Without Love

Cleveland is also a team that knows a thing or two about playing without a star player. The Cavs have also fared well in the absence of forward Kevin Love. That is in large part to their activity at the trade deadline. They are now basically a whole new team altogether.

The emergence of new players Larry Nance, Jordan Clarkson, George Hill and Rodney Hood has made Cleveland a much more athletic and youthful bunch. The additions have also seemed to re-energize LeBron James and JR Smith.

Even without Love, Cleveland’s offense is now as dangerous as ever. After being repeatedly embarrassed against the top teams in the league, Cleveland defeated Boston and Oklahoma City to go 2-0 with their new roster.

Expect Cleveland to keep the momentum going in this one as the Wizards will have a tough time keeping up the scoring pace without Wall. For more on this game and all other action across the NBA, visit HRWager.
