Eastern Conference Finals: King James Looks to Stave Off Elimination

Eastern Conference Finals

Boston Takes 3-2 Lead in Eastern Conference Finals on Road

The Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers meet in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday. ESPN will have the telecast being played at Quicken Loans Arena. Tipoff is for a little bit after 8:30 pm EST.

Oddsmakers opened the Cavaliers as -7-point favorites versus the Celtics, while the game's total opened at 201.5. The line is now Cleveland -6.5 and the total is 201.

The Stage is Set for Lebron

No player in the NBA is better with his teams' back is against the wall than Lebron James.

King James has played 21 games with his team facing elimination in the playoffs. James is averaging an NBA-record 33.5 points. He has played in seven of these games with the Cavs dating to the 2015 playoffs.

Lebron is he averaging 36.9 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 9.1 assists in those games. He has scored 40 or more five times. Cleveland has won four of those games. The home team has won every game in this series. So things look a little brighter tonight for the Cavs.

James finished the Game 5 loss with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. He committed six turnovers and looked tired a few times during the game.

Kevin Love was the only other Cavs player who scored in double figures.

JR Smith is averaging just 5.2 points on 9-of-39 shooting in the series.

Boston Looking for First Finals Trip Since 2010

The Celtics have two chances to go to their first Finals since 2010. That was the last year a non-LeBron team represented the East. Boston knocked out James and the Cavs in six games in the second round that year. James left the Cavs for the Miami Heat after the season.

The Celtics won Game 5 96-83, even though they shot just 36 percent from the floor.

Boston's defense was smothering, as it has been. The Cavs were forced into 15 turnovers. The Celtics changed their starting lineup and went big. They inserted Aron Baynes for Marcus Morris. They often played both of them with Al Horford.

Boston also won the rebounding battle. They outrebounded the Cavs 45-39. Jayson Tatum scored 24 points for his ninth 20-point game in the playoffs. That ties Donovan Mitchell and David Robinson for second all time among rookies.

Tatum is putting together one of the best scoring playoff runs by a rookie in NBA history. He has scored 312 points and trails only Elgin Baylor (331), Alvan Adams (341) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (352).

Stanley Cup Finals: Vegas Makes It in Inaugural Season

Stanley Cup Finals 2018

Vegas Makes Stanley Cup in Inaugural Season

The Stanley Cup Finals are among us. The Vegas Golden Knights are on a historic run that the National Hockey League has never seen before. They’ve set new records for an expansion team in nearly every category.

This week they’ll set another by becoming the only expansion club in NHL history to play a game in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Bet on hockey at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

The Golden Knights eclipsed the Florida Panthers’ 83-point season from 1993-94. They did it with ease by scoring 109-points. The Vegas Golden Knights have the best season by an NHL expansion team in history. They are playing like a team possessed.

Knights Kicked Into High Gear When Playoffs Began

Once the Stanley Cup Playoffs started, the Golden Knights hit another stride. They’ve lost only three out of 15 games. That success has been primarily on the back of the three-time Cup winner goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.

The former Penguin and likely playoff MVP has been outstanding these playoffs. He’s put up a 1.68 goals against average and a .947 save percentage. He’s made big saves when the Knights have needed him, but more importantly, Fleury has been a model of consistency for his team.

Lord Stanley may be basking in the Nevada sun this summer. Don’t miss Game 1 of what is sure to be a fantastic final on Monday Night.

PGA Tour Golf -- Ft. Worth Invitational a Look Ahead to U.S. Open and More!!!

PGA Tour Fort Worth Invitational

Fort Worth Invitational Gives PGA Tour Fans Look at US Open

The U.S. Open is less than a month away and for many, the Ft. Worth Invitational is a warm-up. Don’t misunderstand, Colonial is a very competitive tournament and will be hard fought all weekend long. At the end of the opening round on Thursday Kevin Na found himself atop the leaderboard with a 62 and a 1 shot lead.

Bettors Finding Balance Between NHL, MLB and NBA

Thursday was a great day of golf and the leaderboard is jam packed.

Tentative Top 10 Leaderboard:

1 Kevin Na -8

2 Charley Hoffman -7

T3 Emiliano Grillo -6

T3 Jhonattan Vegas -6

T3 Andrew Putnam -6

T3 Beau Hossler -6

7 Steve Stricker -5

T8 Ben Martin -5

T8 Kevin Tway -4

T8 Shawn Stefani -4

The crowd at the top is much too long to list, it’s jam packed and Fridays action is sure to yield a huge difference at the end of the day. The interesting thing about this list is the odds to win this tournament. There is not one top ten from the leaderboard that is favored in the Las Vegas top ten-odds to win.

Check out the current top ten odds on to win:

Jordan Speith 9/1

John Rahm 14/1

Justin Rose 18/1

Webb Simpson 18/1

Rickie Fowler 20/1

Matt Kuchar 25/1

Aaron Wise 28/1

Adam Scott 28/1

Jimmy Walker 28/1

Brooks Koepka 28/1

Top PGA Tour Names Not on List

There are two names missing from this list that really stand out after the opening round. Kevin Na, simply because he shot a 62 and is the current leader at -1 and the other would be Steve Stricker who is number 7 on the leaderboard. Kevin Na opened the day at 55/1 odds to win this tournament and Stricker at 66/1. Check with your favorite online bookmaker for the current odds.

In golf anything can happen and odds are that NA will not hang on, but what if he does? Vegas is often wrong on golf odds. They simply don’t invest the kind of time necessary to handicapping this sport. They love big names such as Tiger and Phil but at the end of the day, how many tournaments have Tiger and Phil won lately? Neither of these two are playing in this one. Stricker is the standout that has the experience and experience down the stretch will count, it will go a very long ways. Stricker is a fantastic buy at whatever price you can get him for.

Golf Betting - Mickelson: Will He Win Another Major?

Kevin Na turned pro in 2001 and has only won four times and only once on the PGA tour. He has had some good tournaments and finished 12th in the Masters-2012, and 2015. He finished 7th in the 2016 U.S. Open, 22nd in The Open Championship (2016) and 10th in the PGA Championship, 2011.

Learn more about how to bet on Golf – Match ups , Props, Top 3 and More

Na plays consistently good golf and although he rarely wins, he makes the cut and he stays in contention. He might turn the corner in Ft. Worth. He has a shot and right now his toughest competition is Steve Stricker.

Find a bookie that offers head to head matchups and play Stricker and Na. Then look for the best odds on 5-10 players of choice and lay the numbers. In golf you never know and it’s a must to bet across the top ten and even beyond.

Four days is a long stretch of golf, can Na keep up the pace? He probably can. Shop around for the best odds and look for a sportsbook  that has a great reputation for fast payouts and great customer service. Most of all have fun betting and hopefully winning this weekend.

Rockets and Warriors Tied at 2 in Western Conference Finals

2018 NBA Western Conference Finals

Western Conference Finals Goes Back to Houston

The Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets will square off in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday  at Toyota Center. Tipoff is scheduled for a few minutes after 9 pm EST on TNT.

Oddsmakers opened the Rockets as -1-point favorites versus the Warriors, while the game's total opened at 223.5. Golden State is now a 1.5 point favorite. The total is down to 218.5.

Game Four was a classic. Houston was Staring at a 10-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter. Losing puts them in a 3-1 series hol. The Rockets came alive and reestablished homecourt advantage in the Western Conference finals.

Houston salvaged its championship notions with great coaching and execution. They have methodically invited the Warriors to play their brand of isolation basketball. It has influenced Golden State for long enough stretches to temporarily secure a style of play that benefits Houston.

Warriors Have to Control the Tempo

In Game Four the Warriors claimed their largest lead of the night at 82-70. Stephen Curry assisted on a Shaun Livingston dunk at the 10:45 mark. That produced the 14th and final assist of the night for Golden State. The Warriors only scored 12 points in the quarter.

The Warriors led the NBA in assist percentage at 68.5% during the regular season. The Rockets rely on the isolation brilliance of James Harden and Chris Paul. Golden State features two exceptional one-on-one talents in Kevin Durant and Curry, but isolation basketball isn't their identity as a team.

The Warriors' 14 assists in Game 4 was a series low. Their 48.2 assist rate in the series is worse than the Rockets' assist percentage of 49.3. It is a surprising development. The 4th period on Tuesday revealed Golden State at its most unrecognizable.

Golden State held Houston to 39 percent shooting in Game 4. This is overshadowed by having surrendered 34 points in the second quarter and 25 in the fourth.

The Warriors shot 39.3 percent from the floor in the loss. All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson was held to 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting. He is averaging only 10.3 points over the last three games after going off for 28 in Game 1.

Kevin Durant recorded his first double-double of the series with 27 points and 12 rebounds on Tuesday.

Rockets Must Play Defense

The Rockets have a clear understanding of their immediate mission. Their season-long defensive might, and fight, has served them well during critical spans against the Warriors. Houston has been scrambling and contesting shots and passes at a fevered pitch.

That level of committment and perserverance wasn't attached to the Rockets' identity.  Nor was it aligned to Harden individually. In Game 4 the Rockets finally won at Oracle Arena and snapped the Warriors' 16-game home postseason winning streak. Houston had fallen to the Warriors in five games in consecutive postseasons.

The Rockets have finally shrugged one monkey off their backs. Another one awaits. They have to win and take control of the series. Houston needs two wins over the next three games to knock the Warriors off their throne.

The Warriors three-year reign as Western Conference champs could be in jeapordy with the Rockets playing two of the last three at home.

Eric Gordon is 3-of-16 from 3-point range over the last two games.

NBA Playoffs Tuesday Free Pick- Houston at Golden State Game 4

NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals

Rockets Have to Play Well on Road in NBA Playoffs

The NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals are well underway. The Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors resume their matchup in this season’s Western Conference Finals on Tuesday night. We can only hope Game 4 of this best-of-seven clash is as entertaining as the rest.

Tip off from ORACLE Arena on TNT is set for 9 p.m. VietBet opened the Warriors as 8.5-point home favorites with the total set at 223 points. The line has held steady, but the total has eased up to 224.

Houston salvaged a split at home in the first two games of this series with a solid 127-105 victory in Game 2. They were a slight two-point home favorite. Gaining a split on the road in the next two games could be a much taller task.

Sunday’s 126-85 loss as a 7.5-point road underdog showed the Rockets have to play perfect. The total stayed UNDER the VietBet closing 226-point line and it has stayed UNDER in two of the first three games in this conference finals showdown.

James Harden continues to lead the way in scoring with a team-high 20 points in Sunday’s 41-point loss. To say this team quit in that game would be an understatement. The Rockets trailed by 11 points at the half before phoning it in over the next two quarters.

They shot 39.5 percent from the field while converting on 32.4 percent of their 34 shots from three-point range.

Golden State Still Cream of Crop in the West

Many NBA experts thought the gap between Golden State and Houston had been dramatically narrowed this season. Sunday’s lopsided victory demonstrated that a pretty wide gap between the top two teams in the West may still exist. The Warriors opened this series with a statement in a 119-106 victory as 2.5-point road underdogs.

They are now 3-2 against the spread in their last five postseason games. They posted an even 4-4 record ATS in their first eight games of the playoffs. The total has stayed UNDER the VietBet closing line in seven of their last 10 contests.

If there were any lingering concerns with the health of Stephen Curry’s left knee, he should have put them to rest on Sunday. With a game-high 35 points, he proved he is healthy, while connecting on 13 of his 23 shots from the field. Golden State shot 52.2 percent in that game with all five starters scoring in double figures.

Houston will be in real trouble in this series with another loss on Tuesday night. This should be enough motivation to keep the final score closer than 8.5 points win or lose.

NBA Weekend - SCOTUS Legalizes Sports Gambline & More

NBA Weekend Playoffs

NBA Weekend - Celtics vs. Cavs - Rockets vs. Warriors

The NBA Weekend action is going to be intense. The Boston Celtics have drawn a line in the sand. They have said to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers “we are not afraid of you and we will not be intimidated by you”. What they did in the first two games was not a miracle. It was not some amazing sports moment that will go down in the laurels of history.

What it was, was hard work. The Celtics believe in themselves as a unit and they trust each other. LeBron James believes the opposite. He has a belief system that says a win must go through him. Anything that is positive must be a derivative of his ambitions.

MJ - Sports Handicappers Expecting a Windfall - Thanks to SCOTUS

LeBron is the best player in basketball and nobody is disputing this. What is disputable are his motives. Hold up, back up… his motives are not disputable, they are undisputable. He is a “me” guy. If he is not the man, then he cares nothing about winning or losing.

He must be the man and anything that his teammates do on the floor is unimportant.

This will not win a championship and it has not. When LeBron won his championships he knew that he was “one of the guys”. He knew that he was the man but he knew the role that he had to play. What has become important to LeBron is legacy, status, importance, and triple doubles.

Winning means nothing to him at this point. He could care less if Kevin Love or JR Smith ever wins again.

Will the Cavaliers get swept this NBA Weekend? Absolutely not, stupid question, next…

Look for the Cav’s to come out blazing and in Cleveland. This is way too predictable. They will open up this game shooting the lights out and the Celtics will be flat. The Cav’s could even be up by 15 or more at the half.

Then the Celtics will find their defense and make it close and come within 4 or 5 and most likely lose the game. This is the NBA that we have all come to know and love. Find a sportsbook that gives great prop odds and one that gives live and dynamic lines.

This game will be worth betting the quarters and by all means, the second half. Call your favorite bookmaker and get in.

The Rockets did in game two what they were supposed to have done in game one. Just win! They were dominated by the Warriors in game one and it was ugly. The Warriors were the Warriors, they did what they do best and that is use all five guys.

Mickelson: Will He Win Another Major?

The Rockets now face going to Golden State and needing to regain home court advantage. Can it be done? Yes, it can be. James Harden will show up big in game three. Look for prop odds on “how many points Harden will score” and take the over!

Houston will not get blown out in game three and there is no reason they can’t win. They have won in Golden State already this season and they can win there again.

Sports Betting News - Offshore Bookies Thrilled With Supreme Court Ruling

Don’t think for one second that this series will be over in five. This is not going to happen and it will most likely go to a seventh and deciding game. No matter what happens, the fun is just beginning. This weekend is the time to win some serious money.

Call your online gambling softwear provider and get the money in so that you can get paid.

NHL Playoffs: Golden Knights Host the Jets

Golden Knights NHL Playoffs Finals

Golden Knights in Prime Shape to Shine in Western Conference Finals

The Winnipeg Jets and the Vegas Golden Knights will battle in game 4 of the Western Conference Finals series on Friday. The Golden Knights have really taken the NHL and the hockey nation by storm with their success this year.

Oddsmakers opened the Jets as -107-moneyline favorites versus the Golden Knights, while the game's total opened at 60.5.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network, CBC, Sportsnet One, TVA

Since 1973 the team that has captured a 2-1 lead in the semifinal has gone on to take the series 87.5 percent of the time. That team has won 35 of 43 matchups. After Wednesday night's 4-2 victory, that puts the Golden Knights in the drivers seat. The team that takes a 3-1 lead goes on to win more than 90 percent of the time.

The intensity ramped up in game 3 as the two teams combined for 89 hits and 40 penalty minutes.

Jets Need More Help Against Golden Knights

If the Jets have any chance of pulling this series out, they're going to need some scoring from somebody other than Mark Scheifele. The Center has scored 14 of his team's 50 goals so far in the playoffs. This is at a 28 percent clip. He scored both goals on Wednesday.

Patrik Laine, Bryan Little, Mathieu Perreault and Adam Lowry have been a shadow of what they were in the regular season. Laine had 44 goals this year. He has only four in the postseason and has hit a half-dozen posts.

Ehlers had 29 goals this year and has yet to notch one in 13 games. He was a mysterious scratch on Wednesday night.

Little has one goal in 15 playoff games. He produced 16 this season. Perreault has just a single point and Lowry hasn't scored since December.

Fleury Has Been the Rock for the Golden Knights

Marc-Andre Fleury has been the star for Vegas this year. In addition to 33 saves on Wednesday, he also took part in a scrum in his crease. The three-time Stanley Cup winner with the Pittsburgh Penguins has a 10-3 record. He has a .945 save percentage in the playoffs.

Jonathan Marchessault  has 17 points, with eight goals, in the playoffs. Linemates William Karlsson and Reilly Smith continue to give the jets defense all kinds of trouble. Playoff veteran James Neal finished with a goal and an assist in game 3. He ending the night plus-3 and leading the Golden Knights with five shots on goal.

Fleury made a handful of highlight-worthy saves with Vegas nursing a one-goal lead in the final period. He got plenty of help as the Golden Knights finished with 18 blocked shots and 18 takeaways.

Streaking Astros Face the Indians

Houston Astros Baseball

Astros Have Won 3-Straight Series

The Cleveland Indians and the Houston Astros will open a 3-game series on Friday when they meet at Minute Maid Park. The Astros claimed its third consecutive series on Wednesday. The Indians will be trying to halt that this weekend.

TV: 8:10 p.m. et, Sportstime Ohio (Cleveland), AT&T Sportsnet Southwest (Houston).

Pitching Matchup: Indians RH Mike Clevinger (3-0, 2.70 era) vs. Astros RH Charlie Morton (5-0, 2.03).

Oddsmakers opened the Astros as -145-moneyline favorites versus the Indians, while the game's total opened at 8.5. Houston is now -165 and the total is now 7.5.

This marquee series pits teams that will most likely be involved in the postseason. This despite Cleveland spinning its wheels at 21-21. They lead a weak AL Central Division. The astros are 28-17, and sit atop the AL West.

Astros Pitching Has Been Astounding in 2018

The Astros pitching Staff boasts an eye-popping era of 2.44. That is nearly a run better than anyone else in baseball. Houston has allowed only allowed 13 runs while going 7-2 in its last nine games.

The Staff owns the three lowest eras in the American League. The pitchers and ERA are; Justin Verlander has a 1.05, Gerrit Cole at 1.75, and Charlie Morton at 2.03.

Morton has won seven straight decisions dating to 2017. You can make that eight in a row during the regular season.

Morton struck out a career-high 14 while permitting one run and four hits in seven innings of a 6-1 victory over Texas on Saturday. He was a personal-best 14-7 last season. He has allowed two or fewer runs in six of his eight starts this season. Morton has fanned 10+ batters 3 times in 2018.

Morton is 0-2 with a 5.56 era in two starts versus Cleveland.

Cleveland Has Been Nerve-Wracking for Fans

Tonight's starter, Mike Clevinger is also undefeated in 2018. He has quality starts in his last three outings.

Clevinger, who has thrown 231 pitches in his last two starts. He allowed two runs and eight hits while striking out five over 7 2/3 innings of a 6-2 victory over KC on Saturday. Clevinger is 10-5 with a 3.22 era in 24 appearances on the road. He set career highs with 10 strikeouts and 116 pitches in his previous start.

He got a no-decision when he yielded two runs, one hit and four walks across 7 1/3 innings of Cleveland's 7-4 loss against the Yankees in New York. He is 1-1 with a 1.04 era in two starts versus the astros.

The Indians split their last six games against Central rivals Kansas City and Detroit. This has been since top reliever Andrew Miller returned from the disabled list. He has allowed four runs in 1 2/3 innings during that span while he works his way into shape. Cleveland's MLB-worst bullpen ERA balloon to 5.68.

Jason Kipnis and Edwin Encarnacion have gone deep in a combined nine at-bats versus Morton.

Cardinals Try to Find Offense as They Host Phillies

St. Louis Cardinals Baseball

Cardinals Offense Has Been Hit or Miss

The St. Louis Cardinals will host the Philadelphia Phillies Friday night at New Busch Stadium. Both teams have been having solid seasons at this point.

TV: 8:15 p.m. ET, NBCS Philadelphia, FS Midwest (St. Louis)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies RH Jake Arrieta (3-1, 2.59 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Michael Wacha (4-1, 3.09)

Oddsmakers opened the Cardinals as -125-moneyline favorites versus the Phillies, while the game's total opened at 8. The line is now St. Louis -115 on the moneyline and the total is now 8 Under -130.

Cardinals Looking for Consistency After Latest Bad Streak

The Cardinals have dropped three straight home games for the first time this season. They have lost six of their last nine. St. Louis' bullpen faltered late in the series opener. They five runs in the eighth and ninth innings. This is not common as they have given up only 19 runs all season in entering the game.

Arrieta is winless in his last three outings. The bullpen is to blame for the past two. The 2015 NL Cy Young Award winner has allowed one run in 13 1/3 innings across his last two starts. He has five quality starts in seven outings this season.
