Sparks Hosts the Red Hot Dream in WNBA Action

Sparks WNBA Basketball

Sparks and Dream Have Top Two Defenses in WNBA

The Atlanta Dream and the Los Angeles Sparks will meet on Tuesday when they battle at STAPLES Center. This is a matchup of the No. 2 team in the WNBA vs. the No. 3 team.

The game will showcase two of the best defenses in the league. It will also have two of the best players in Candace Parker and Tiffany Hayes.

The second-place Dream (15-9) will be looking to stay ahead of the third-place Sparks. The Sparks (14-10) will be looking to make it two straight since losing to Indiana, the league's worst team.

Atlanta has won seven straight and is 8-2 in its past 10 games. Los Angeles is only 4-6.

The Sparks and Dream have played once this season. On June 12, Parker scored 19 and Nneka Ogwumike posted a double-double (18 points, 11 rebounds) in a 72-64 Los Angeles win.

Oddsmakers have the Sparks as 4-point favorites. The total is at 156.

Sparks Looking to Get Back on Track With Winning Streak

The Sparks were a 93-76 winner in their most recent outing on the road against the Sky. They covered the -3.5-point spread as favorites. The total score (169) made winners of OVER bettors.

Ogwumike did not dress in Los Angeles' win over Chicago. It was the second straight game she has missed. Defensive specialist Alana Beard also did not play because of groin injury. It's uncertain if either will be able to play Wednesday.

Odyssey Sims hobbled off the court in the waning moments and her status is in limbo as well.

The Sparks sit second in the league in defense, allowing 77.4 points per game. The Sparks average 79.8, eighth best in the WNBA.

Dream Look to Keep Solid Season Going

The Dream continued their improbable season on Sunday with an impressive 87-74 road win over Western Conference leader Seattle. They covered the +2.5-point spread as underdogs. The total score of 161 sent UNDER bettors to the payout window.

Elizabeth Williams scored a season-high 17 points to lead the Dream. All-Star Hayes and Angel McCoughtry added 16 points.

The turning point in the Dream's season might have come during the road trip that ended with the loss to the Sparks. The loss dropped Atlanta to 5-4. Since then Atlanta has gone 10-5 and is in the thick of playing for a first-round bye in the playoffs.

The Dream are third in the WNBA in defense at 78.9 points per game. The Dream average only 79.2 points per game, ninth best in the league.

Hayes led Atlanta to a 3-0 record last week. She ranked second in the conference in scoring at 18.0 points per game to go with 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

Astros All-Star Cole Faces Anderson, Rockies on Tuesday

Colorado Rockies

Rockies Look to Stay Within Striking Distance in NL West

The Houston Astros will visit the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday in the most intriguing pitching matchup of the night. The Astros are on the verge of running away with the AL West. Colorado has to keep playing well to keep up with the streaking Dodgers in the NL.

TV: 8:40 p.m. ET, AT&T SportsNet Southwest (Houston), AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain (Colorado).

PITCHING MATCHUP: Astros RH Gerrit Cole (10-2, 2.52 ERA) vs. Rockies LH Tyler Anderson (6-3, 3.72).

Odds: The Astros are -145 on the moneyline. The total is sitting at 10.

Cole is on Fire for the Astros

With a 2.52 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP, the All-Star Cole has been one of the best pitchers this season. Houston has won seven of his last nine starts overall. He has improved to 10-2 on the season over that span.

The veteran righty has been just as good on the road as he has been at home, going 6-1 with a 2.53 ERA in 10 road starts this season.

Cole was outstanding in his last start. He allowed one run, three hits and four walks while striking out eight in 5 2/3 innings of a 9-1 victory over Detroit. This was on on July 14,  and he reached 10 wins for the fifth time in his six major-league seasons.

The 27-year-old's strikeout total is fifth-best in baseball. He has yielded one earned run or fewer in four of his last five starts. Cole boasts a 0.98 WHIP this season.

Nolan Arenado is 5-for-11 with two home runs for the Rockies against Cole. The rest of the active Rockies are 8-for-48 versus Cole. He is 3-1 with a 2.49 ERA in four starts against them. This includes a victory in his only start at Coors Field in 2016 when he permitted two earned runs in six innings.

Alex Bregman (.282, 20 home runs, 66 RBIs), the MVP of the All-Star Game, has reached base safely in 25 straight contests. That is the longest active streak in the majors. He is hitting .333 during that stretch. Bregman had a 31-game on-base run earlier this season.

Rockies are 15-6 in Tough Stretch of MLB Season

Colorado will send Anderson to the mound Tuesday night. Despite having to overcome the difficulties of pitching at home at Coors Field, the veteran lefty is 6-3 with a 3.72 ERA this season. Anderson is just 2-3 with a 3.94 ERA in his 10 home starts this season.

However, it’s worth noting that Anderson has held opponents to two earned runs or less in each of his last four starts dating back to June 29.

Tuesday’s game will mark the first of four head-to-head meetings between the Rockies and Astros this season.

The Colorado Rockies have played a team with a winning record each game since June 26. They could continue to do so until Aug. 19th. That is a rough stretch.

Colorado has started the challenging stretch 15-6. They sit within striking distance of first place in the National League West and an NL wild-card spot.

The Astros have the highest road winning percentage in baseball at .694. Their 34 wins away from home are the second-most in the majors to Boston.

MLB Monday Free Betting Pick- Los Angeles Dodgers at Philadelphia Phillies

Phillies Baseball

Phillies and Dodgers Both Lead Their Divisions

Game 1 of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Philliesof three-game clash gets underway at 7:05 p.m. The battle between a pair of division leaders in the NL could be telling.

VietBet has opened the Dodgers as -134 road favorites with the total set at 8.5. The Dodgers are now -145 and the total is down to 8o -115.

The Dodgers’ lead in the NL West stands at a game and a half with a 7-3 mark in their last 10 games. They started this current 10-game road trip with a 2-1 series victory against Milwaukee over the weekend.

Los Angeles is 55-44 overall with a 27-20 record on the road. The total went OVER the VietBet closing line in two of the three games against the Brewers with the Dodgers scoring a combined 19 runs.

Los Angeles is expected to get this series underway with Ross Stripling as its starter. The right hander has won his last two starts by allowing just one earned run on nine hits in a total of 12 innings pitched. Going back over his last 10 starts, the Dodgers have gone 8-2.

He comes into this game with a 2.08 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP.

Phillies Have Braves Hot on Their Heels

Philadelphia started the second half of its season with a 2-1 series victory against San Diego. That includes a Sunday doubleheader where they split. The Phillies are 55-43 overall and a game up on Atlanta in the NL East.

They have been a tough out at home at 32-17. The total has stayed UNDER the VietBet closing line in five of their last seven games played at home.

After a brief 10-day stint on the DL for a finger injury, Zach Eflin is expected to return to Philadelphia’s starting rotation on Monday night. The right-hander won six-straight starts. He did not give up more than two earned runs in any of the outings.

That streak came to an end against the New York Mets on July 9th. He allowed three earned runs on five hits over five innings on the mound. Eflin did not get tagged with the lost in the Phillies’ 4-3 defeat. His current ERA stands at 3.15 with a 1.08.

This should be a great matchup on the mound with a possible play on the UNDER at BetAnySports, but I am going with the favorable moneyline on the Phillies as home underdogs.

MLB Betting - Who is Hot Right Now

2018 MLB

MLB is Picking Up and Leading into College and NFL Football

Look, it’s the time of year when every bettor is searching for an edge in MLB. Even the sharp players are having to dig deep. This is no surprise. The same thing happens every season like clockwork; things get stale. The lines and odds all look the same and the games lose their luster.

Don’t give up just yet, there is still hope and certainly there is a lot of great baseball left in this season. Quite possibly now is also the time to find a top notch online booking service.

A sportsbook that will not only come through for you down the stretch of this baseball season. Also one that will be there for you during football. The NFL is right around the corner so now is most definitely the time to be doing your homework.

Betting College Football – A Few Simple Reminders

Looking at this year’s baseball season brings a few betting trends to mind. We want to share our thoughts with you. In baseball there is one thing that every seasoned bettor will tell you. That is to never forget the loss factor. Because the season is so brutally long, there is a huge loss factor to consider when betting.

With a 162 game schedule, knowing exactly how to be can be a daunting task and a losing proposition if not played right. Bookies all over the internet have realigned their numbers for the second half. Are you ready to take them head on and bet the brakes off of them?

If so, then remember one thing. SIMPLIFY. Stop playing every team in baseball, you will never consistently win this way.
