NBA Playoffs: Raptors vs Bucks Game 5

Raptors vs Bucks 2019 NBA Playoffs

Bucks and Raptors Tied at Two a Piece

The Toronto Raptors and the Milwaukee Bucks will meet on Thursday at Fiserv Forum. They will be squaring off in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Finals series in the NBA Playoffs. The Raptors have rallied back to knot the Eastern Conference finals at 2-2. Toronto averaged 119 points in back-to-back victories on their home-court. The Dinosaurs were impressive in their 120-102 victory in Tuesday's Game 4.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT, TSN (Toronto) LINE: Bucks -7; O/U: 214.5.

The Bucks played their worst game of the series in Game 4. The cushy 2-0 lead they once held has vanished. Toronto coach Nick Nurse is looking for the same type of effort his club displayed in Game 4. They are looking to ride the momentum to take the series lead.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Raptors' forward Kawhi Leonard scored at least 30 points in each of the first three games of the series. He had just 19 in Game 4 while appearing to be bothered by a left leg injury. Point guard Kyle Lowry scored 25 points in Game 2. It was his second-highest total of the series. Power forward Serge Ibaka played his best game of the series with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Norman Powell is averaging 17 points over the past three contests. Backup PG Fred VanVleet scored 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting in Game 4. He broke out of his slump as he was just 7-of-44 over the previous 10 games.

The Bucks' point guard Eric Bledsoe has been a non-factor in the series. He is averaging 8.3 points and made just 11-of-45 shots. Middleton and Bledsoe each were 3-of-16 from the field in the Game 3 loss. Only Middleton shook it off. He was 11 of 15 from the floor and Bledsoe continued to struggle by going 2 of 7. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 25 points and 10 rebounds in Game 4 for his fourth straight double-double.

The Dart Throw: Bucks 112, Raptors 96

MLB Wednesday: Phillies Face off with Cubs at Wrigley Field

Chicago Cubs

Two NL Favorites are Playing Well

With both teams playing well at the moment, Wednesday’s matchup between the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies promises to be a great one. The wind is blowing out at 15 mph tonight at Wrigley. This game could be all kinds of high scoring no matter who is on the mound.

The Phillies have have won four of their last five game. The Cubs have been tearing it up since April 27, going 16-6. The Cubs are now leading the NL Central despite losing their first six out of seven games to begin the season.

TV: 8:05 p.m. ET, MLB Network, NBCS Philadelphia, NBCS Chicago; LINE: Cubs -167; O/U: 10.5 Over -120.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies LH Cole Irvin (2-0, 2.77 ERA) vs. Cubs LH Cole Hamels (4-0 3.13)

From a starting pitching perspective, this will be a battle of two Coles, and both are lefties. The Cubs’ representative, Cole Hamels, is a MLB veteran pitching in his 14th season. He has a World Series MVP under his bet. His counterpart, Cole Irvin, is a rookie going into just his third start of a promising career. Both pitchers are undefeated so far this season. Hamels at 4-0 with a 3.13 ERA, and the young phenom with a 2-0 record and a 2.77 ERA.

Javier Baez slapped the game-winning single in Tuesday's 3-2 win for Chicago. The Cubs have alternated losses and wins over the last six games as it clings to first place in the NL Central. Kris Bryant answered an 0-for-5 performance in Monday's 5-4 loss by reaching base four times. He had three hits and walked once. He also scored two runs, including the tying one in the ninth inning. Philadelphia's Jean Segura doubled in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. Cesar Hernandez has gone 9-for-20 with three doubles and a triple in his last five games. Andrew McCutchen had a two-run single in the seventh inning on Tuesday. He is 8-for-27 against Hamels. Former NL MVP, and resident ass-hat, Bryce Harper is 8-for-34.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Phillies' Irvin followed his impressive major-league debut with his second win in as many starts. He permitted four runs, three earned, and five hits in six innings. It ended with a 5-4 victory over Colorado. The youngster helped himself at the plate by working a 10-pitch walk in his first big-league at-bat. That set up McCutchen's two-run homer. Irvin did himself no favors with a pair of fielding errors in the second inning. They led to the Rockies scoring the first run of the game. 1B Rhys Hoskins is 1-for-20 in his last six games.

The Cubs' Hamels posted a 114-90 record with Philadelphia from 2006-15. The crafty veteran snapped a string of four straight no-decisions on Friday after allowing two runs in five innings of a 14-6 victory at Washington. The Cubs are 7-2 mark in games started by Hamels this season. The lefty hurler has surrendered a homer in seven of those outings. That is unlike the perennial double-digit winner. C Willson Contreras is 8-for-20 with five RBIs over his last five games.

NBA Playoffs: Bucks at Raptors Game 4

Raptors vs Bucks 2019 NBA Playoffs

Raptors Look to Even Series With Bucks Tonight

The Toronto Raptors look to even the Eastern Conference Finals at home tonight. This game follows an emotional double-overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 3 on Sunday night. Canada’s team will need to build on the momentum gained going into Game 4.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT, TSN (Toronto) LINE: Bucks -3; O/U: 217.5.

Despite the Raptors controlling the scoreboard for most of Game 3, they were unable to put away a determined Bucks team. The Bucks hung around until the final whistle in the second overtime. Milwaukee’s superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo struggled on Sunday. He shot just 5-for-16 from the floor for a mere 12 points. The Greek Freak will look to inflict more damage on tonight. This game could prove to be a pivotal should the Bucks manage to steal one at Scotiabank Arena. Toronto will rely on Kawhi Leonard, Pascal Siakam, and Kyle Lowry, as they have been all season long. They will still need their supporting cast of Marc Gasol, Danny Green, Norm Powell, to step up. The Raptors desperately need to hold serve here to stick around in this series.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

Kawhi Leonard scored 36 points while playing 52 minutes in the 118-112 Double-Overtime win. He had to limp through the two overtimes as he helped keep his club in the mix for its first-ever NBA Finals appearance. Leonard was assigned to defend Bucks star power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, and he delivered. He held him to just 12 points on 5-of-16 shooting and caused him to commit eight turnovers before fouling out.

Milwaukee was close to taking a 3-0 series lead but couldn't pull it off. The poor offensive outing by Antetokounmpo helped keep the club out of that position. He did have 23 rebounds, so all was not bad. Guard George Hill continued his strong postseason play with 24 points of 7-of-9 shooting. He has reached double digits in six of the past seven games. SF Khris Middleton (10.7 average in the series) and PG Eric Bledsoe (9.3) each were just 3-of-16 shooting in Game 3. Brogdon scored 20 points in Game 3 and is averaging 16.3 in the series.

Toronto appears to know they have to ride Leonard to have any chance of winning the series. The soon-to-be free agent indicated his body was sore after his career-high, 52-minute outing. "It's 52 minutes, and it's the playoffs, so you definitely feel it," Leonard told reporters. "When you play 30 minutes, you feel it still. Just got to not worry about it and get my treatment and move on to the next one." Pascal Siakam had 25 points and 11 rebounds. Marc Gasol pitched in 16 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Swingman Norman Powell provided 19 points in 30 minutes off the bench. PG Fred VanVleet was 1-of-11 shooting in Game 3 and is just 7-of-44 over the last 10 games.

NHL Playoffs: Game 6 of Western Conference Finals

2019 NHL Playoffs

Can Banged up Sharks Stave off Elimination?

The St. Louis Blues’ incredible season has continued with two consecutive victories over the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference Finals. The Blues now own a 3-2 series lead over the Sharks. They’ll have a chance to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals in Game Six tonight. The Sharks appeared to be in the driver’s seat after a controversial double overtime goal in Game 3 gave them the series edge. St. Louis came out strong and capped off Game 5 with a convincing 5-0 victory.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network, CBC, TVA LINE: Blues -175; O/U: 5.5 Under -119.

Jordan Binnington has continued his steady play since coming into the league earlier this year with the Blues. He wasn’t called upon often in Game 5, but made 21 saves to complete the shutout. St. Louis benefited from another goal from their fourth line. It has given the Sharks fits throughout this series. The Blues’ big guns were also prevalent during the win. It included a hat trick from Jaden Schwartz.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

San Jose had a trio of key players miss time in Sunday's 5-0 loss. Captain Joe Pavelski has an upper body issue, two-time Norris Trophy recipient Erik Karlsson has an undisclosed injury and Tomas Hertl has an upper body issue. Joonas Donskoi, who was out with an upper body issue, returned after being injured earlier in the contest. The Blues have outscored the Sharks 7-1 since the controversial hand-pass goal that ended Game 3. Tonight could see them punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1970 with one more victory.

Please read our review of BetOnline Sportsbook to see everything this A-Rated Book offers.

The Sharks owns a 4-0 mark in elimination games this postseason. The injury-riddled roster provides an added hurdle that may be too much to overcome. The team is looking to battle for the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2016. Logan Couture has six goals and seven points in eight road games this postseason. He has been held off the scoresheet in back-to-back contests overall. G Martin Jones has permitted at least four goals in three of his last four games after reaching that total just twice in his previous 12.

Jaden Schwartz of the Blues' netted his second hat trick of the 2019 playoffs on Sunday. It boosted his goal total to 12. That is one behind Brett Hull's franchise postseason record set in 1980. Binnington made 21 saves for the first shutout by a St. Louis rookie goaltender in the playoffs. He has turned aside 50 of 51 shots in his last two contests. That is a huge turnaround since yielding five goals on 32 shots in Game 3.

Monday MLB: Diamondbacks vs Padres

San Diego Padres Baseball

Padres Look to Turn it Around Against D-Backs

The San Diego Padres host perennial National League West contenders, the Arizona Diamondbacks. This is the first of a three-game series that could be a measuring stick to how ready the Padres are at contending.

The Padres turn to emerging ace Chris Paddack to help get them on track on Monday. San Diego raised expectations with a promising 11-5 start. They have slipped lately, losing three games in a row and seven of their last nine.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, FS Arizona, FS San Diego; LINE: Padres -145; O/U: 6.5 Over -115.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Diamondbacks RH Luke Weaver (3-2, 3.16 ERA) vs. Padres RH Chris Paddack (3-2, 1.99)

Hunter Renfroe blasted a three-run homer in Sunday's 6-4 loss to Pittsburgh. That was one of the few bright spots for a Padres team that is 7-12 without rookie star Fernando Tatis Jr. Arizona lost two of three to San Francisco over the weekend. They were held to three hits in Sunday's 10-inning, 3-2 loss. The Diamondbacks are beginning a 10-game road trip. They have to get their top three hitters going to be successful. Adam Jones, Ketel Marte and Eduardo Escobar finished a combined 0-for-15 with three strikeouts in Sunday's loss.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Diamondbacks' Weaver has three straight quality starts. In those starts he has gone 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA, with 19 strikeouts in 20 innings. Weaver has gone 3-0 with a 0.98 ERA over 18 1/3 innings in his last three turns on the road. Manny Machado is 3-for-6 with two homers against Weaver. Weaver is 2-2 with a 2.28 ERA in four career starts versus San Diego. OF David Peralta has gone 13-for-26 in seven games against the Padres this season.

The Padres' Paddack had posted a 1.55 ERA over his first seven major-league starts. Then he ran into trouble against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. He gave up six runs, three earned, in 4 2/3 innings. The talented rookie owns a stellar 49-to-11 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 45 1/3 innings in his first eight starts.

NBA Playoffs Betting Pick- Warriors at Trail Blazers Game 4

NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals

Warriors Look to Close out Trail Blazers

The Western Conference Finals resume this Monday night with the Golden State Warriors on the road as 3.5-point favorites against the Portland Trail Blazers. The total line at BetAnySports for Game 4 is set at 220 points and the tip in Portland on ESPN is set for 9 p.m.

The Warriors have lived up to expectations with a 3-0 series lead even with Kevin Durant sidelined with a calf injury. They took complete control of this best-of-seven tilt with Saturday’s come-from-behind 110-99 victory as three-point road favorites on BetAnySports’ closing line. The total stayed UNDER 221 points and it has stayed UNDER in three of their last five playoff games. Golden State is now 5-2 straight-up (4-3 against the spread) in seven road games this postseason.

The big three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have made the absence of Durant an afterthought in the first three games of this series. Curry led the way on Saturday with a game-high 36 points and he has now scored at least 33 points in the last four games with Durant on the bench. Green posted a triple-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. The Warriors are averaging 117.1 points per game in the playoffs after finishing second in the NBA in scoring during the regular season (117.7 PPG).

Lillard Has to Show Up Hurt or Not

Portland has a slim to none chance of winning this series and the way it is playing right now it probably has the same chances to extend this series past four games. In their best effort against the Warriors at home on Saturday, the Trail Blazers blew an 18-point lead. They have failed to cover as underdogs in two of the first three games and they are 4-6 ATS in their last 10 playoff games.

Damian Lillard was Portland’s leading scorer in the regular season with 25.8 PPG. He tallied 19 points in Game 3 while shooting just 27.8 percent from the field. C.J. McCollum was the team’s leading scorer with 23 points but he also struggled shooting the ball by going 7-for-20 from the floor and 2-for-10 from three-point range. Portland has failed to cross the 100-point mark in three of its last six games.

The Warriors are a veteran playoff team that knows how to close teams out when they have the clear edge. This series ends in four with Golden State taking Game 4 both SU and ATS.

MLB Saturday: Brewers vs Braves

Atlanta Braves

Braves Going for 4th Straight Victory

The Atlanta Braves will battle the Milwaukee Brewers at SunTrust Park on Saturday evening. Austin Riley has lengthened the Atlanta Braves lineup since being called up from AAA. Entering Saturday's game with the Brewers they will look to build off an explosive performance in Friday's 12-8 victory in the series opener.

Atlanta scored in each of the first three innings. They then took control with a nine-run sixth as Tyler Flowers, Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna Jr. finished with three hits apiece. Riley added two in his third big-league game.

TV: 7:15 p.m. ET, Fox; LINE: Braves -115; O/U: 9.5 Over -115.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Chase Anderson (2-0, 3.20 ERA) vs. Braves RH Kevin Gausman (2-3, 4.50)

Riley finished 2-for-5 to give the third baseman turned outfielder six hits in 12 at-bats. Homers from Dansby Swanson, Josh Donaldson and Flowers blew open the game in a 36-minute bottom of the sixth inning. The Braves won for the sixth time in seven games and finished with a season high in runs. They also matched their season best with 17 hits. It was a difficult series opener for the Brewers. They saw their three-game winning streak end with a thud. They finished with 10 hits, eight of them after the sixth inning, after the game was broken open. Atlanta's bullpen struggled after averaging 4.8 runs and 9.3 hits in winning 10 of their previous 13 games. Brewers Second baseman Keston Hiura was 2-for-3 in his major-league debut Tuesday. Since he was riding a 0-for-9 skid entering Friday. He went 2-for-4 in the series opener. Shortstop Orlando Arcia added two hits after going 4-for-22 in his previous six games.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Brewers' Anderson pitched well in two starts after moving from the bullpen into the rotation. He has not been on the mound since April 26 due to a right middle finger laceration. He has pitched to a 1.86 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 9 2/3 innings in his two starts. He walked five with nine strikeouts and two runs allowed on six hits. Anderson allowed two runs with six strikeouts in four innings Monday for Triple-A San Antonio. He is 2-0 with a 4.84 ERA in four career starts against Atlanta. He has held opponents to a .216 average this season. Milwaukee pitchers had registered a 1.81 ERA while holding opponents to a .203 average during their 10-3 stretch before Friday.

The Braves Gausman returns with one extra day of rest. He is back after dropping the appeal of a five-game suspension from throwing at Miami's Jose Urena on May 3. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings. While appealing the ban, Gausman made one of his best starts of the season. May 11th at Arizona he struck out six with two walks and one run allowed on five hits over six innings. Gausman has allowed four or more earned runs in three of his first eight starts. He gave up one run across eight innings in his only career appearance against Milwaukee last season. NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals

Warriors Looking to Take Control Over Trail Blazers

We might be getting a sneak preview of what the Golden State Warriors will look like next year. Stephen Curry taking his team from the injured Kevin Durant. The Warriors have already taken a 2-0 lead on the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals.

TV: 9 p.m. ET, ESPN LINE: Trail Blazers -2.5; O/U: 220.5.

Durant has been ruled out for Games 3 and 4, according to reports during the Game 2 broadcast. The Warriors protected home-court advantage despite Durant sitting out the first two games of the Western Conference finals. The Trail Blazers will try to get back into the series and avoid a 3-0 hole when they host the Warriors in Game 3.

Golden State breezed to a 116-94 win in Game 1. Game 2 was different, as they needed 37 points from Stephen Curry to help pull out of a 17-point hole and escape with a 114-111 victory. The Trail Blazers are heading home with some confidence. The way they played for most of Game 2 was a shot in the arm. They believe they can get back into the series.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

He is shooting 71.9 percent in the postseason.

NBA Playoffs: Raptors vs Bucks Game 2

Raptors vs Bucks 2019 NBA Playoffs

Will Game Two Be a Classic as Well?

The Milwaukee Bucks host the Toronto Raptors at Fiserv Forum on Friday night. The Bucks rallied to win the series opener and look to make it two straight tonight in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The second-seeded Raptors led by seven after three quarters in Game 1. They tired and were outscored 32-17 over the final 12 minutes. The Bucks recovered for a 108-100 home victory.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT, TSN (Toronto) LINE: Bucks -6.5; O/U: 217.

Milwaukee scored the final 10 points of Wednesday's game while ramping up its defense down the stretch. They clamped down to prevent Toronto from making its last eight field-goal attempts. Raptors star Kawhi Leonard scored 31 points but only two came in the final stanza. They were both on free throws. He struggled through a 10-of-26 shooting performance on the night.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry averaged 12.4 points and shot 41.5 percent from the field in Toronto's first two series. He had his best game of the postseason in Game One with 30 points and seven 3-pointers. The latter a playoff career high. Getting Danny Green back on track has to be another goal as he is averaging just 5.3 points on 4-of-16 over the past three games. Pascal Siakam was 6-of-20 shooting in Game 1 and is just 27-of-76 over the past five contests.

Bucks Center Brook Lopez was superb in Game One. He opened with 29 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots. This was after averaging just 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in the five-game conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics. Lopez scored 13 of his career playoff-high in the fourth quarter. He may be back to playing a key role for Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 24 points and 14 rebounds in the opener for his sixth double-double of the postseason. Malcolm Brogdon tallied 15 points off the bench. He is averaging 12.5 points in two games since returning from a foot injury.

The Dart Throw: Bucks 110, Raptors 98
