Golden State Warriors at Toronto Raptors for Game 1 of NBA Finals

The Finals 2019 Raptors vs Warriors

Warriors Looking to Cement a Dynasty in The Finals

It took four straight wins, but the Toronto Raptors were able to claw their way back from a 0-2 deficit against the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals. They’ve reached their first-ever NBA Finals after the heroic comeback against a team that had not lost four straight all season. Now they get to go up against one of the best squads of all time in the legendary Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are seeking their third consecutive NBA championship. Golden State opened as 1.5-point favorites, but their has been heavy betting action on Canada’s team. The line has now reversed.

TV: 9 p.m. ET, ABC, Sportsnet One (Toronto) LINE: Raptors -1.5; O/U: 213.

Warriors’ small forward Kevin Durant will not return to the hardwood for Game 1 of the Finals due to a calf injury. That hasn’t been a hindrance to this ultra-talented group so far. It has just allowed Steph Curry to take back leadership of the team, as should be. The Warriors have won five straight games without Durant and six straight overall. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have stepped up when it matters. The Raptors are hoping Kawhi Leonard continues his playoff dominance into the NBA Finals. Leonard is averaging over 30 points per game in the postseason. He has been outstanding by 50.7% shooting from the floor. Toronto will also the rest of the cast of Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry and Marc Gasol to step up for them to have success.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

With Durant having been ruled out of Game 1 with a calf injury the Warriors are ready for action in the of the best-of-seven series. Especially with center DeMarcus Cousins declared ready for action. Toronto has home-court advantage for the Finals due to a better regular-season record than Golden State. Winning the opening two games would greatly improve the club's chances of winning the series.

The Warriors' Cousins suffered his quadriceps injury on April 15 in Game 2 of the first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers. He has decalred himself and said Wednesday, "I feel good," Cousins said. "My quad is coming along. It's healed for the most part. Still whipping things into the shape, building the muscle endurance needed to play at a high level. Everything is coming along well." Point guard Stephen Curry is picking up the scoring slack with Durant sidelined. He has scored 30 or more points in five straight playoff games and six of the past seven. Klay Thompson has just one 30-point outing in 16 playoff contests this postseason. Draymond Green had back-to-back triple-doubles to wrap up the Western Conference finals against the Portland Trail Blazers. He has four, and counting, during the playoffs.

The Raptors' Leonard is averaging 31.2 points and 8.8 rebounds in the postseason. He is again back in the discussion as perhaps the best player in the NBA. Especially after carrying Toronto to the Finals on his back. Leonard is slated to become a free agent in July so this could be the Raptors' one-and-only Finals opportunity with him on the roster. He has mentioned he is open to staying with the Raptors. The Raptors won both regular-season meetings. They won 131-128 in overtime at Toronto on Nov. 29th and 113-93 on Dec. 12th at Oakland, Calif.

The Dart Throw: Warriors 110, Raptors 106

Stanley Cup Finals Game 2: Blues vs Bruins

Stanley Cup Finals of 2019

Bruins Slashed Way to 1-0 Lead in NHL Finals

The St. Louis Blues and the Boston Bruins will meet in Game 2 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday night at TD Garden. The Bruins made a loud statement in Game 1. They made it psychologically and physically. They showed that the road to the Stanley Cup must go through them and that standing in their path carries a risk of slammed. A stirring comeback and a thunderous hit that looked like it was straight out of "Slap Shot" enabled the Bruins to take a 1-0 series. Boston has won all nine playoff matchups against St. Louis. The Blues are 0-13 all-time in Stanley Cup play.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network, CBC, SN, TVAS LINE: Bruins -1.5 +170, Bruins -170; O/U: 5.5 Under -145.

It may not rival the iconic image of Bobby Orr flying through the air after scoring the Cup-clinching goal versus St. Louis in 1970, but Bruins defenseman Torey Krug left an unforgettable mark on Game 1. He went airborne after his helmet-less, open-ice thunderous check on Robert Thomas in the third period. The Blues prefer to look ahead rather than dwell on the series opener. They were manhandled in more ways than Krug's hit. They squandered an early two-goal lead and got out-shot 30-12 over the final two periods. That CANNOT happen again if they want to make a series of this.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Blues defenseman Vince Dunn has been sidelined since Game 3 of the Western Conference finals after getting hit in the mouth by a shot. He practiced for a third straight day Tuesday and could be back in the lineup for Game 2. Dunn has seven points in the postseason and scored in two of his previous three games before he was injured. Jordan Binnington posted a 24-5-1 mark since he was called up from the minors in early December. He is 5-2 in the playoffs following a loss. F Brayden Schenn has scored in back-to-back contests following a 13-game goal drought.

The Bruins Fourth-line center, Sean Kuraly, added to his clutch performer reputation. He set up Boston's first goal before scoring his third-game winner of the playoffs. Kuraly and line-mates Noel Acciari and Joakim Nordstrom had to do some heavy lifting defensively also. Coach Bruce Cassidy matched them up against St. Louis' No. 1 unit after the Blues struck for two goals early. They didn't disappoint. Captain Zdeno Chara said he was fine after receiving stitches to close a cut sustained in the third period.

The Dart Throw: Bruins 4. Blues 1

MLB Tuesday: Twins Host the Brewers

Twins Major League Baseball

Brewers Look for Sweep Over the Twins

The Minnesota Twins so far have been the dominating team in MLB. They host the struggling Milwaukee Brewers in the second game of this highly anticipated inter-league series on Tuesday. They lost game one of the series and look to keep from getting swept this evening. Orlando Arcia belted a two-run homer in the eighth inning on Monday to provide the Brewers with a 5-4 win while handing Minnesota just its second loss in 13 games.

The Twins hold the best record in all of baseball at 36-17 (one game ahead of the Yankees and Astros) and are ten games ahead of the second place Indians in the AL Central. The Brewers are 31-24 and looking to stay within striking distance of the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs are only 0.5 games ahead of Milwaukee in the NL Central.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, FS Wisconsin (Milwaukee), FS North (Minnesota); LINE: Twins -111; O/U: Over 10 -115.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Zach Davies (5-0, 2.43 ERA) vs. Twins LH Martin Perez (7-1, 2.95)

Arcia recorded three RBI's while Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich drove in runs with sacrifice flies to give Milwaukee its second straight win following a stretch during which it lost five of seven games. Yelich leads the majors with 21 Creatures, but has only 10 RBI's this month. That is despite hitting seven creatures. That happens when six are of the solo variety. Minnesota had its six-game winning streak snapped on Monday. They had outscored opponents 53-16 during their string of victories. Byron Buxton hit a three-run blast in the series opener. Twins' batters struck out 13 times in this game. Jonathan Schoop, C.J. Cron and Miguel Sano all pulling the Hat Trick.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Twins will give the nod to veteran Martin Perez. He hasn’t been too shabby himself with a 7-1 record and a 2.95 ERA. The Twins have produced the highest scoring offense in all of baseball. They leading the league in runs scored at 308 thanks to the likes of shortstop Jorge Polanco, who has a .340 AVG (leads the AL), and left fielder Eddie Rosario has 15 HR (tied for second in AL). Perez defeated the Los Angeles Angels in his last turn. He gave up two runs and six hits over five innings. He has issued four walks in each of his last two outings, but has at least seven strikeouts in four of his last five starts Perez lost his lone career start against the Brewers on Sept. 26, 2016. He was gas-lighted for eight runs and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings while with Texas.

The Brewers will be going with Zach Davies on the mound. Davies is undefeated going into this matchup after 10 starts. He is holding a 5-0 record with an impressive 2.43 ERA. Davies is coming off his worst outing of the season as he allowed six runs and six hits in three innings of a no-decision against Cincinnati. The young hurler gave up just nine earned runs in his first nine starts. He served up two homers iagainst the Reds on Wednesday. Davies has lost his lone career start against the Twins on Aug. 10, 2017. He surrendered seven runs - six earned - and 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings.

MLB Tuesday: Blue Jays vs Rays

Tampa Bay Rays Baseball

AL East Divisional Matchup Tonight in Tampa Bay

The Toronto Blue Jays will play the second game of a three-game set this Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays sit just two games behind the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East. They’ll attempt to inch closer with a victory over the struggling Jays. Toronto has dropped two straight series and eight of their last 11 games. Tampa Bay is coming off of a series victory against the Cleveland Indians and a win in game one of this series. Every win is important for Tampa right now. The surging Yankees have taken over first place in the division and are working to widen the gap.

TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, Sportsnet (Toronto), TVA Sports (Toronto), FS Sun (Tampa Bay); LINE: Rays -185; O/U: 8.5 Under -120.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Blue Jays LH Clayton Richard (0-0, 2.25 ERA) vs. Rays RH Ryne Stanek (0-1, 3.18)

The Rays are stinging the ball during a stretch of five wins in six games. The streak has the team a season-best 13 games over .500. Tampa Bay (32-19) has scored at least six runs in each of the last five wins. Lead-off man Austin Meadows sparked the offense the last two days by going 7-for-9 with two homers and six RBI's. He lifted his batting average to .351 and slugging percentage to .679.

The slumping Blue Jays are losers of 19 of their last 26 games. They have watched the pitching staff allow at least six runs in each of the last six losses.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Blue Jays will send 35-year-old lefty Clayton Richard to the mound on Tuesday. It will be the second start of the year for the veteran. His first was a four-inning outing against the Boston Red Sox. He allowed just two hits and one earned run in his return from injury. Richard spent most of his career in the National League and owns a 0.79 ERA in three career games - one start - against Tampa Bay. The top four hitters in the Toronto lineup combined to go 0-for-14 with six strikeouts on Monday.

Rays right-hander Ryne Stanek owns a 1.64 ERA in 14 starts at home. He is expected to get the ball first on Tuesday. The bulk of the innings are likely to go to Ryan Yarbrough. He was recalled from the minors last week and started at Cleveland on Thursday. He allowed two runs and four hits in 7 1/2 innings to earn a win. Yarbrough worked two perfect relief innings to get the win at Toronto on April 12, striking out one. OF Tommy Pham is enjoying a 13-game hitting streak.

The Dart Throw: Rays 5, Blue Jays 2

Sports Betting Update on England Nations League Finals Roster

It looks like Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier will be out of England Nations League Finals roster. He is suffering from an ankle injury. As a result, Harry Kane will be part of the roster. The Tottenham captain hasn’t played since April 9.

Some players overlooked for the right-back position were Man City’s Kyle Walker, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Spur’s Harry Winks, and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond.

The sports world will be watching the semi-final matches of the Nations League. England will battle the Netherlands on June 6 for the semi-finals. Portugal will play Switzerland in the other semi-final match on June 5. The third-place and final matches will be on June 9.

England Nations League Finals Roster

England manager Gareth Southgate said removing Trippier from the England Nations League finals roster was a difficult decision they had to make. In fact, he described the defender as having a huge impact on the team. Trippier has a passion to play for the nation. Also, he played well during the World Cup for England.

Sports Betting Update on England Nations League Finals Roster

Kane suffered his left ankle injury during the first leg of Tottenham’s quarterfinal match against Manchester City. According to reports, he is ready to play in the Champions League final match on Saturday against Liverpool.

Southgate found it hard to make a decision because many players are part of the Champions League. However, the team is excited with the roster. Forward Redmond and midfielder Ward-Prowse will be part of the training team. Winks had surgery in his groin last April and hasn’t played since April 9.

Harry Winks is a player Southgate has been eyeing for a long time. However, it is tough to pick him for the team because he hasn’t played for several months. At present, he is training with Spurs and might be playing during the weekend.

When you want to know how to be a bookie, you should know the roster changes for the games you are accepting bets on. If you are wondering how do bookies make money, making smart decisions on the moneylines is one of them.

Stanley Cup Finals Game 1: Blues vs Bruins

Stanley Cup Finals of 2019

NHL Finals Game 1 Preview & Free Pick

This year’s Stanley Cup Finals get underway on Monday night. Game 1 of a best-of-seven matchup between the St. Louis Blues, out of the Western Conference, and the East’s Boston Bruins should be a good one. Game time in Boston on NBC is set for 8 p.m. with the Bruins -150 favorites and the total line set at 5.5 goals with BetAnySports.

The Blues went 12-7 during their run to the championship series. After eliminating Winnipeg in six games as underdogs, they needed the full seven games to get past Dallas in the next round as favorites. After falling behind two games to one in the conference finals against San Jose, St. Louis won the next three games by a combined score of 12-2 to win the West. The Blues were 7-2 in nine road games with the total going OVER or ending as a PUSH in six road games.

Led by left winger Jaden Schwartz with 12 goals and four assists, the Blues average three goals a game in those three series. Center Ryan O’Reilly and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo were the team leaders in assists with 11 apiece. The Blues had seven different players posting at least 10 points in 19 playoff games. Jordon Binnington anchored the defensive effort in goal with a 2.36 goals-against average. He started every playoff game.

Bruins are Well Rested

Boston had its hands full with Atlantic Division rival Toronto in a 4-3 series win in the opening round. The Bruins needed six games to close out Columbus in their next matchup before really ramping things up with a four-game sweep over Carolina in the conference finals. Boston won the East title in impressive fashion by outscoring the Hurricanes a combined 17-5 in those four games.

This is another team that boasted a deep scoring lineup in the postseason. Center Patrice Bergeron scored a team-high eight goals with left wingers’ Brad Marchand and David Pastmak adding seven goals apiece. Those two players also combined for 19 assists. Boston was able to average 3.4 goals a game in their 17 postseason outings. A big reason for the run all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals was goalie Tuukka Rask He started every game in goal and posted an impressive 1.84 GGA and a .942 save percentage.

This series could easily go the full seven games given each team’s current form, but I am betting on Boston this Monday night at BetAnySports to take the early 1-0 series lead

Sunday Night Baseball: Braves vs Cardinals

Cardinals MLB

Rubber Match Should be a Great Matchup Tonight

The Atlanta Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals will battle on Sunday at New Busch Stadium. With the Series tied at one-game a piece, this will be the deciding game in the series. The Braves Teheran has pitched better than his record and had some tough luck. Flaherty has yet to find his groove, but has been effective in key spots this season. It all unfolds on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, ESPN; LINE: Cardinals -150; O/U: 9 -110.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves RH Julio Teheran (3-4, 3.67 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Jack Flaherty (4-3, 4.19)

It has been a miserable season for Jedd Gyorko so far. He got his biggest hit of of the season in last nights game. The hit sends the Cardinals into Sunday's home contest against the Braves looking for a series victory. Gyorko, who entered Saturday hitting just .167 capped a four-run, eighth-inning uprising with a three-run homer to lift St. Louis to a 6-3 victory. Gyorko had only seven singles and two RBI's before the 3 run blast. The victory was only the sixth win in 21 games for the Red Birds.

There were other good signs Saturday for the Cardinals. That is a good sign as they are 7-15 this month. Matt Carpenter finished with three hits and two RBI's. It included two game-tying singles to give him six hits in his last 12 at-bats and raise his average to .222. Atlanta lost for just the fourth time in 15 games. They scored fewer than four runs for only the third time in the last 13 games. Dansby Swanson singled in four at-bats to extend his hitting streak to eight games. Austin Riley finished 1-for-4 with a run-scoring double. That gives the rookie at least one hit in nine of his first 11 major-league games. Atlanta took a 3-2 lead in the seventh inning by bashing three doubles. The team has 27 two-base hits and 26 homers while batting .262 after the sixth inning this season.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Braves' Teheran quietly has been one of the reasons Atlanta has played well this month. He has given up only two earned runs while limiting opponents to a .132 batting average. This was over 22 2/3 innings in four starts. The 28-year-old is the "Old Man" of the Braves young staff. He held San Francisco to one run and three hits with six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings on Tuesday. He did not factor in the decision of Atlanta's 4-3 loss. Teheran defeated the Cardinals at home on May 16th. He gave up just two hits in five scoreless innings. Ronald Acuna Jr. was hitless in three at-bats on Saturday and enters the series finale 1-for-18 with six strikeouts in his last four games. Saturday's loss dropped the Braves to 24-3 when leading after seven innings this season.

The Cardinals' Flaherty has allowed four or more earned runs in three of his first five starts. He has pitched well enough to have a 3.34 ERA. He has held opponents to a .188 batting average over his last five outings. The young hurler has gone 2-2 in that stretch. He settled for a no-decision last Sunday at Texas after giving up two runs and four hits in six innings. Flaherty had a road victory over the Braves on May 14th. He allowed three runs on three hits and five walks over six innings in a 14-3 rout. The Cardinals have gone 0-5-1 in their last six series. That is their longest such winless streak since 2017.

The Dart Throw: Braves 5, Cardinals 2

2019 Stanley Cup Finals Kick off on Monday

Stanley Cup Finals of 2019

Defense is Key in NHL Stanley Cup Finals

The Stanley Cup Finals are here, FINALLY!. The matchup couldn’t be better if it was hand-picked. The Boston Bruins know that they’ll be up against the NHL’s Cinderella team, the St. Louis Blues. The stellar series starts Monday with Game 1. The Bruins and Blues represent two of the hardest-playing teams in the NHL. They’ve both succeeded by suffocating opponents’ offenses with stellar defense. The shutdown goaltending is also an amazement to witness. Both teams create opportunities by capitalizing on defensive miscues with lethal offensive attacks. These teams are cut from the same hockey cloth. It is crystal clear this series will come down to individual performances when determining which club will come out on top.

The Boston Bruins have been challenged to stay game-ready by a long layoff. The break began on May 16 following their Game 4 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. The rest has allowed Bruins’ veterans Zdeno Chara and David Krejci to get healthy. They’ll be up against a Blues team that is coming off of a dominating series victory over the San Jose Sharks.

While the Blues have had less time off, there is no question that they have significant momentum heading into Game 1. They were able to overcome a 2-1 series deficit by winning three-straight games against San Jose. The Blues surrendered just two goals in those three contests, so look for them to continue their stifling defensive play. Game time is 8:00 PM ET.

The Dart Throw: Bruins Win Series 4-2.

MLB Saturday: Red Sox vs Astros

Houston Astros Baseball

Red Sox Look to Even Series Tonight

The Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros meet in Game Two of their MLB series on Saturday night. The game will be played at Minute Made Park. David Price faces them for the first time since ending his postseason victory drought against them in October.

Price had nine strikeouts and allowed three hits over six scoreless innings in that outing. He picked up the win in the clinching Game 5 as the Red Sox won the American League Championship Series. They eliminated the Astros en route to capturing the World Series title.

TV: 7:15 p.m. ET, FOX; LINE: Astros -127; O/U: 8.5 Over -120.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox LH David Price (2-2, 3.29 ERA) vs. Astros RH Brad Peacock (5-2, 3.59)

Price was 0-9 in postseason play prior to his memorable ALCS win. With that in the rear-view mirror, he will look to help Boston rebound from Friday's 4-3 loss in the opener of the three-game series. Roberto Osuna converted his 25th consecutive save opportunity. The save broke the Astros' franchise record set in 2005 by Brad Lidge. Houston won the opener despite recording just four hits. An important one was Jake Marisnick's solo homer. The Red Sox received solo shots from Xander Bogaerts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Christian Vasquez. J.D. Martinez went 0-for-3 with a walk after missing the previous four games with a back injury. Boston lost for the second time in their last six contests.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Red Sox' Price returned from a stint on the injured list due to elbow issues. He pitched well enough to defeat Toronto on Monday. He gave up two unearned runs and three hits over five innings. Price was removed after 67 pitches. Price is 6-2 with a 2.94 ERA in 12 career regular-season appearances against the Astros. He has enjoyed success against Josh Reddick, who is 0-for-11, and George Springer, who is 5-for-24 with one homer and 14 strikeouts.

The Astros' Peacock has won three straight starts. He has allowed one run and eight hits with 24 strikeouts in 17 innings during that stretch. He gave up two hits over five scoreless innings against the Chicago White Sox in his last outing. He rung up nine strikeouts without issuing a walk. Peacock is 1-2 with an 8.36 ERA in five career appearances against Boston. Springer (hamstring) departed in the eighth inning of the opener. This was his first appearance since sitting out four straight games due to back soreness. Manager A.J. Hinch told reporters the following after the game: "I'm not looking forward to the diagnosis, to be honest." RHP Ryan Pressly served up a homer to Bradley in the eighth inning on Friday. That snapped his major league-record streak of 40 straight scoreless appearances dating back to August.

The Dart Throw: Phillies 5, Brewers 3

NBA Playoffs: Bucks vs Raptors Game 6

Raptors vs Bucks 2019 NBA Playoffs

Raptors Look to Close Out Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks and the Toronto Raptors will battle on Saturday at Scotiabank Arena. This topsy-turvy Eastern Conference Finals series has made it to Game 6. This has been one of the most unpredictable series so far in the 2019 NBA Playoffs.

The Raptors look to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. Toronto has won the past three games, including a 105-99 road win on Thursday. They have roared back by a T-Rex to take a 3-2 series lead. The Bucks are reeling and have to take the skates off or go home.

TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT, Sportsnet One (Toronto) LINE: Raptors -2; O/U: 213.5.

Kawhi Leonard poured in 35 points in the Game 5 win. It was his fourth 30-point outing of the series. He has provided Toronto with the big-time performances the club was looking for when it acquired him from the San Antonio Spurs. Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo had 24 points in the loss. He has to have more help from his teammates of offense. The coaching staff has to devise a way to slow down Leonard. Leonard made five 3-pointers in Game 5 for the third time this postseason.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

Milwaukee won a NBA best 60 games in the regular season. This is why Antetokounmpo and others are bullish that the club's resiliency will ensure that a fourth loss doesn't occur. They haven't lost four in a row the entire season. Malcolm Brogdon had 18 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in Game 5. Point guard Eric Bledsoe scored a series-best 20. Khris Middleton had just six points on 2-of-9 shooting in Game 5. The letdown hurt after scoring 30 on 11-of-15 shooting in Game 4. They need another performance like this to force a game seven.

The Raptors' backup point guard Fred VanVleet scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers in the Game 5 victory. He is 10-for-12 from long range over the last two games. It was needed after he was only 2-for-11 over the first three games. Starting point guard Kyle Lowry was just 4-of-11 shooting, but scored 17 points and is averaging 19.6 in the series. Pascal Siakam had his second double-double of the series in Game 5. He chipped in a hefty 14 points and 13 rebounds. He is averaging 13.8 points and seven boards.

The Dart Throw: Bucks 110, Raptors 104
