Yankees Host Rays Afternoon Action

Yankees Baseball

Rays Look to Salvage Series Finale Against Yankees

The New York Yankees (45-27, plus-4.13 betting units) have dealt with an unusually long string of injuries this year, but they should have some more pop in the batting order this Wednesday when they host the Tampa Bay Rays (43-30, plus-0.13 units) in the finale of a three-game set.

TV: 1:05 p.m. ET, MLB Network, FS Sun (Tampa Bay), YES (New York); LINE: Yankees -115; O/U: 9 Under -120.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rays LH Blake Snell (4-5, 3.70 ERA) vs. Yankees LH CC Sabathia (3-4, 4.42)

The Yankees acquired DH/INF Edwin Encarnacion (.888 OPS) from the Seattle Mariners on Saturday. They acquired him along with cash considerations, in exchange for minor-league righty Juan Then. Encarnacion leads the American League with 22 home runs. To make room for him on their 25-man roster, New York sent DH/LF Clint Frazier (.843 OPS) to AAA-Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where outfielders Giancarlo Stanton (.850 OPS) and Aaron Judge (.925 OPS) are nearly done with their rehab assignments.

Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell will try to help the Tampa Bay Rays salvage the finale of the three-game series. The Rays managed just two hits in losing the series opener. They held a one-run lead through 4 1/2 innings before suffering a 6-3 setback on Tuesday. It was the sixth loss in their last eight games.

Mike Zunino and Avisail Garcia recorded RBI singles to give the Rays a 2-1 lead before the bullpen imploded on Tuesday. Tampa Bay dropped 2-1/2 games behind the first-place Yankees in the AL East. They also fell, to a still remarkable, 23-12 record on the road. Snell has been dominant at times in 2019, but will be coming off one of his worst performances of the season. He squares off against CC Sabathia. He is 17-16 with a 3.63 ERA in 50 career starts against the Rays. Cameron Maybin homered for the fourth straight game and Edwin Encarnacion went deep in his second game since entering the lineup. Maybin is 9-for-16 with four RBI's over his last four games. Luke Voit collected three hits in Tuesday's win and is 8-for-16 in his last five games.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Rays' Snell failed to complete four innings for only the third time this season on Friday. He allowed four runs, three of them earned, on five hits and four walks over 3 1/3 innings against the Los Angeles Angels. Snell had given up fewer than three runs in six of his previous seven starts. He has fanned 101 batters over 75 1/3 innings. Gary Sanchez is 4-for-14 with three homers versus Snell, who is 0-1 with a 2.31 ERA in two starts against the Yankees this year. Yandy Diaz, who has gone 10-for-20 in his last five games, sat out Tuesday due to hamstring tightness.

The Yankees' Sabathia has lost three straight starts. He got shelled for six runs, five of them earned, on 10 hits and three walks across 4 2/3 innings last time out. Sabathia is one victory away from having 250 for his career. He has surrendered three runs over 11 innings in two starts against the Rays this year. He is without a decision. Zunino is 5-for-11 with a homer and Kevin Kiermaier is 5-for-16 with two blasts versus Sabathia. CC has posted a 2.33 ERA at home as opposed to a 6.30 mark on the road this year. The Yankees have homered in 21 straight contests, four shy of the franchise record set in 1941. DJ LeMahieu has gone 29-for-63 with 35 RBIs with runners in scoring position this season.

The Dart Throw: Rays 4, Yankees 3

Jays Host Angels on Tuesday

Toronto Blue Jays

Angels Looking to Upton to Give Offense a Boost

The Toronto Blue Jays will play the second game of a four-game series in Toronto tonight when they host the Los Angeles Angels. Like the Jays, Los Angeles has struggled through the first part of the season. and now sit one game below .500 and 13 games behind the division-leading Houston Astros. Things are looking up for the Angels as they’ve begun to receive some much-needed offensive production and the return of Justin Upton. Shohei Ohtani missed the first couple of months of the 2019 season following Tommy John surgery. The Japanese sensation has returned as the team’s DH and is seeing his game round into form. Upton returned since being out since early march with the left big-toe sprain.

TV: 7:07 p.m. ET, FS West (Los Angeles), Sportsnet, Sportsnet One (Toronto); LINE: Angels -124; O/U: 9.5 -110.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels LH Tyler Skaggs (5-6, 5.00 ERA) vs. Blue Jays RH Marcus Stroman (4-8, 3.18)

The Japanese sensation has returned as the team’s DH and is seeing his game round into form. Following a sluggish May, Ohtani is hitting .321 with a 1.063 OPS in June. Ohtani’s production is much-needed as well as Upton's. Upton wasted no time at all making an impact. He made his season debut Monday and homered in his first at-bat to help set the tone in the Angels' 10-5 win in the series opener.

Kole Calhoun, Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout also homered for Los Angeles, which has won six of its last nine and has a chance Tuesday to get to .500 for the first time since mid-March. Cavan Biggio slugged a pair of home runs and drove in three to pace Toronto's attack Monday night. The 24-year-old rookie is 8-for-19 with four home runs and seven RBIs during a five-game hitting streak. Outfielder Teoscar Hernandez sprained his wrist in the opener.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Angels' Skaggs allowed two runs in six innings to defeat Toronto on May 2. He's since gone 2-4 with a 6.32 ERA in seven starts. He did manage a victory with five innings of three-run ball at Tampa Bay on Thursday. Skaggs is 3-2 with a 3.93 ERA in six career starts against the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays' Stroman bounced back from a rocky start two turns ago. He limited Baltimore to one earned run in six innings Thursday. The former first-round pick was chased after a season-low 3 1/3 innings at Los Angeles on May 1. He gave up five runs. Trout is 8-for-16 with three doubles in his career against Stroman. Trout's homer Monday night was his 20th, giving him eight straight seasons with at least that many. Ohtani is 11-for-25 with three homers and eight RBIs over a six-game stretch.

The Dart Throw: Angels 6, Blue Jays 4

MLB Monday Free Pick - Giants at Dodgers

Los Angeles Dodgers

Giants Playing Quality Baseball Entering Series

The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers kickoff an extended four-game series this Monday night at Dodger Stadium in a 10 p.m. (ET) start on ESPN. BetAnySports has opened Los Angeles as a heavy -228 favorite with the total set at 8.5.

The Giants lost two of three at home in an early June series against the Dodgers. Since that point they have gone 4-1 in their last five games. The brief four-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday with a 5-3 loss to Milwaukee as +148 home underdogs. San Francisco starts this seven-game road trip with a road record of 15-18 as part of an overall record of 30-39 that is ranked 14th in the 15-team National League.

The fact that the Giants’ lineup was able to produce a total of 23 runs in that recent four-game winning streak was a positive sign, but it is still averaging just 3.9 runs a game on the year. San Francisco is ninth in the NL in pitching with a staff ERA of 4.54. Tyler Beede is scheduled to get the start on Monday night. This will be the right hander’s fifth start of the season and he is 0-2 with an ERA of 8.06 and a 2.06 WHIP.

Dodgers Running Away with NL West

The Dodgers continue to set the pace in the NL West at 48-24 after taking three of four at home against the Chicago Cubs this past weekend. They improved to an impressive 28-8 at home this season. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing line in the final two games against Chicago and it has stayed UNDER in five of the Dodgers’ last seven outings.

The combination of 5.2 runs scored a game with a league-best 3.25 staff ERA makes the Dodgers the team to beat in the entire NL. They have six more wins then the next best team in the standings. Look for Kenta Maeda to get the start for Los Angeles on Monday night. The right hander is 7-3 through 13 previous starts with a 3.89 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP.

Betting against the home team in the series opener does not make all that much sense, but the risk/reward in the Dodgers’ inflated -250 money line offers little value. What does make sense is betting the OVER 8.5 runs on BetAnySports’ total line.

Please read our Review of BetAnySports to see all they have to offer!!!!

Cubs and Dodgers on Sunday Night Baseball

Los Angeles Dodgers

Cubs Look for NL Central Lead Against Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers (47-24, plus-11.88 betting units) are well on their way to winning their seventh straight National League West title. But they’ve got their sights set on something bigger: a World Series title. The Dodgers will take their next step this Sunday when they host the Chicago Cubs (39-31, plus-2.20 units); first pitch is at 7:05 PM ET on ESPN.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, ESPN; LINE: Dodgers -175; O/U: 8 Under -115.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs LH Jose Quintana (4-6, 3.89 ERA) vs. Dodgers LH Hyun-Jin Ryu (9-1, 1.36)

Hyun-Jin Ryu (1.36 ERA) will throw for the Dodgers opposite fellow southpaw Jose Quintana (3.89 ERA). This has been an outstanding season thus far for Ryu. He has L.A. up 3.69 units on a team record of 9-4; Quintana has performed reasonably well for the Cubs, but they’re only 6-8 behind the eighth-year veteran for a loss of 2.89 units.

Chicago hopes the acquisition of closer Craig Kimbrel will help support their starting rotation. Kimbrel, who had a 2.74 ERA in 2018, was signed to a 3-year contract last Friday after languishing in free agency. The 7-time All-Star is coming off a World Series win over L.A. with the Boston Red Sox. He isn’t expected to debut for the Cubs until late June.

Yu Darvish and Walker Buehler each tossed seven strong innings Saturday. Then Chicago's Anthony Rizzo belted a go-ahead, two-run homer off closer Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning. It ended Jansen's scoreless streak at 10 1/3 innings. The Dodgers remain firmly in control of the NL West race but need more production from outfielder Joc Pederson. He went 0-for-3 from the leadoff spot Saturday and is hitless in his last 26 at-bats. The Cubs are 27-19 in their last 46 games and are starting to get into a rhythm. Rizzo has gone deep in back-to-game games and is batting .321 with 16 homers and 40 RBI's in his last 49 games.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Cubs' Quintana walked a season-high four batters and allowed four runs (three earned) over 4 2/3 innings in last Tuesday's 10-3 loss to Colorado. He has posted a 4.38 ERA over his last seven starts covering 39 innings. He is seeking his first victory since May 5. Quintana is 1-1 with a 1.71 ERA in four career starts versus Los Angeles. That includes a 0-1 mark, with a 1.40 mark in three outings at Dodger Stadium. The Cubs are 24-11 at home compared to 15-20 on the road.

The Dodgers' Ryu turned in another strong outing last Monday. It was in a no-decision against the Los Angeles Angels where he allowed one run, on seven hits, over six innings. He also added six strikeouts. Ryu has been sensational this season with a 77-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 13 starts and 86 innings. Carlos Gonzalez is 5-for-15 with a home run against Ryu. He owns a 1-1 record and 4.24 ERA in three career starts versus the Cubs. Cody Bellinger is batting .294 with five homers and 11 RBI's in 16 career games against the Cubs.

The Dart Throw: Dodgers 4, Cubs 2

The Finals: Raptors vs. Warriors Game 6

The Finals 2019 Raptors vs Warriors

Shorthanded Warriors Look to Force Game Seven Tonight

The Golden State Warriors have lived to fight another day. They lost Kevin Durant after tearing his right Achilles tendon early in the second period. Durant was looking sharp. The Warriors held on to beat the Raptors 106-105 Monday night as 1-point home dog. They forced tonight's Game 6 in Oakland.

TV: 9 p.m. ET, ABC, Sportsnet One (Toronto) LINE: Warriors -2.5; O/U: 212.

Durant started Game 5 after practicing Sunday for the first time since he suffered a calf injury earlier in the Playoffs. He quickly scored 11 points in 12 minutes, including 3-of-3 from downtown. He left Scotiabank Arena on crutches and in a walking boot. Durant said on his Instagram account Wednesday that he underwent surgery. You know the Golden State squad will be thinking of him as it moves forward with its focus on winning two more games and claiming a third straight title. Kevon Looney also had to leave Monday’s game after aggravating the cartilage injury he suffered near his collarbone in Game 3 of the Finals. His status for Game 6 is uncertain.

The Raptors will make a second attempt at clinching their first NBA crown after letting a six-point lead with three minutes remaining slip away in Game 5. Lowry scored 18 points in Game 5 for his second-highest output of the series. He is just 1-of-10 from 3-point range over the past two games. That will have to improve for the Raptors to have a shot in Sacramento. Fred VanVleet has made 11 3-pointers in the series and has scored in double digits in four of the five games.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

Golden State prevailed, despite the injuries, by hitting 20 of their 42 3-pointers. Toronto shot just 8-of-32 from behind the arc. Kawhi Leonard was held to 26 points on 9-of-24 shooting. Pascal Siakam and Danny Green were 0-for-8 combined from long range, while Kyle Lowry was 1-for-6. Tonight's atmosphere will definitely be tougher.

DeMarcus Cousins was going to receive diminished minutes in Game 5 but Durant's injury led to more court time. The nine-year-veteran was a key factor with 14 points in 20 minutes. Cousins missed six-plus weeks with a quadriceps injury and is well aware that he and his teammates suffered a major blow with the loss of Durant. Stephen Curry is averaging 32.4 points in the series with a high of 47 and a low of 23.

Sports Betting News on Tampering Charges against Texans

The New England Patriots made it to sports news headlines once again. No, it is not about winning another Super Bowl. This time around it is about tampering charges it filed against another team.

The NFL champs Patriots accused the Texans of tampering. The latter is pursuing Nick Caserio, who is the Patriots’ director of player personnel. Also, he serves as the team’s de facto general manager. As a result, the Patriots filed tampering charges against Houston.

Patriots don’t want to lose Caserio. Also, the Texans want Caserio to be their next GM. As a result, the former accused the latter of breaking the NFL tampering rules. The league will investigate the issue to determine if the Texans did violate the anti-tampering regulation. If the NFL found the Texans guilty, the team can lose a draft pick or pay a fine.

Tampering Charges against Houston Texans

Sports Betting News on Tampering Charges against Texans

Caserio is close with Texans coach Bill O’Brien, who used to be with the Patriots’ staff from 2007 to 2011. Also, Caserio is close with former Patriots’ character coach Jack Easterby, who left the team to become the Texans’ executive vice president of team development.

Easterby attended the Super Bowl ring ceremony of the Patriots last week. In addition, Caserio was there. A day after, the Texans fired GM Brian Gaine. As a result, the Patriots believe tampering happened during their ring ceremony.

Reporters asked O’Brien if he or Easterby talked to Caserio before the team fired their GM, he answered that no. However, sports betting software insiders believe the Patriots has a strong case, especially when there’s video evidence.

After firing their GM, the Texans asked the Patriots for permission to interview Caserio. However, the latter believes the former broke tampering rules of the league when they tried to persuade Caserio to leave the team.

Tampering is when a club interferes with the employer-employee relationship of another team. Also, it is the act of a club to make an individual sign up with them. The NFL expects to collect relevant information with its investigation. Gambling software experts are interested to find out what will happen next.

Stanley Cup Finals: Blues vs Bruins

Stanley Cup Finals of 2019

2019 NHL Finals Have Been an Instant Classic

The winner of the Stanley Cup will be decided tonight in Beantown. The St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins face off in a winner-takes-all game at TD Garden in Boston. The Blues entered Game 6 with a 3-2 series lead and an opportunity to capture the franchise’s first Cup in front of their home crowd. A determined Bruins squad had different plans. They rallied around their injured captain, Zdeno Chara, and shut down the Blues en route to a 5-1 victory. Now Boston will have their home crowd rooting them on as they look to capture the franchise’s seventh Stanley Cup and second championship in 10 years. Home teams own a 12-4 record in Game 7's of the Stanley Cup Finals. The road club has won each of the last two. They were Pittsburgh in 2009 and Boston in 2011.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, NBC, CBC, Sportsnet, TVAS LINE: Bruins -1.5 +155, Blues +1.5 -175, Bruins -175; O/U: 5.5 Under -155.

Game 6 was a return to form for the Bruins. Tuukka Rask made 28 saves, and the beat-up Boston defense held the Blues to just one goal. That was despite a raucous, and rambunctious, St. Louis crowd looking for any opportunity to celebrate.

For the St. Louis Blues, Game 7 will be the final test in a season that’s been an uphill battle. After coming back from last place overall in the league, the Blues’ season has been defined by their resilience and heart. Rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington and the Blues will look to defy the odds once again and defeat the Bruins as 1.5-goal road underdogs.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The City of Boston prepares to host its first Game 7 in a championship round since the NBA's Celtics in 1984. The core group of Bruins have done so pretty recently. Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, David Krejci, captain Zdeno Chara and Tuukka Rask previously traveled this terrain by in Vancouver in 2011. St. Louis' chances for its first championship in franchise history looked bleak at best just three days into the calendar year. The club residing in the basement of the league's standings. You can see the results of their hard work and maturity during the long NHL season. That is nothing to be taken lightly in a Game 7.

The Blues' Ryan O'Reilly has scored four goals and set up another in his last three games to push his overall playoff point total to 21. He has seven goals and 14 assists that match a franchise record with Hall of Famers Doug Gilmour (1986), Bernie Federko (1986) and Brett Hull (1990). Jordan Binnington yielded four goals on 31 shots in a 5-1 setback in Game 6. He will have a second chance to set the single postseason rookie win total of 16 should he rebound after a loss. The 25-year-old has posted a 7-2 mark with a 1.86 goals-against average in games after defeats in the playoffs.

The Bruins' Rask added to his potential Conn Smythe Trophy-winning resume in Game 6. He turned aside 28 shots on Sunday, including 12 while St. Louis was on the power play. The 2014 Vezina Trophy recipient sports a sparkling .938 save percentage in the playoffs. That is a total that elevates to .973 (145 saves on 149 shots) in elimination games. Rask served as a backup to Tim Thomas on Boston's 2011 championship-winning team. He was stellar for all but a disastrous 17-second span in the Bruins' eventual Stanley Cup Final run that resulted in a heartbreaking loss to Chicago.

The Dart Throw: Bruins 3. Blues 2

Houston Astros Baseball

Astros are a Force with 5 Straight Series Wins

The Houston Astros are back in the thick of the World Series hunt. They’re miles in front of the American League West at 45-22. Tonight they’ll host the Milwaukee Brewers, who are 38-28, in the first game of a two-game set at Minute Maid Park. Houston has matched the best start in club history and is 27-8 in its last 35 games.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, FS Wisconsin (Milwaukee), AT&T SportsNet Southwest (Houston); LINE: Astros -115; O/U: 8.5 Over -120.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Freddy Peralta (3-2, 5.11 ERA) vs. Astros RH Brad Peacock (5-3, 3.20)

Houston has won five straight series and is 10-0-1 in its last 11 sets. This has happened despite missing key regulars such as George Springer, Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa. Houston won two of three from Baltimore over the weekend.

The Brewers, who have been at or near the top of the National League Central for much of the season. They are sending Freddy Peralta (5.11 ERA) to the hill. The 2nd-year right-hander has registered a 3-2 record so far and has dropped 1.44 betting units along the way. Peralta was their No. 10-ranked prospect heading into the 2018 campaign. He’s had just two quality starts in 2019, leaving the Over at 5-2.

This, That, and a Dart Throw

The Astros continue to receive key contributions from their call-ups this season. Yordan Alvarez is the latest to deliver. The 6'5". 21-year-old Cuban, belted a two-run homer Sunday in his second career at-bat. He had been on fire before the call-up, as he hit a minor league-most 23 home runs in 56 games this season with Triple-A Round Rock. Milwaukee has won four straight after sweeping three from Pittsburgh. They continue to spar with the Chicago Cubs for National League Central supremacy. The clubs have pulled clear from the rest of the division. Houston's

The Astros' Brad Peacock has excelled since going to a full wind-up with the bases empty. Peacock suffered his first loss since changing his delivery after allowing two runs, four hits and two walks in his last outing. He struck out six in five innings of a 14-1 loss at Seattle on Wednesday. He is 3-1 with a 1.32 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in six starts since making the change. He also has chipped in 41 strikeouts in 34 innings during that span. Peacock has never faced Milwaukee. He has a 5.28 ERA after his first seven games (five starts) this season, but has righted the ship it seems.

The Brewers' Peralta allowed one run and four hits with nine strikeouts over six innings of a 5-1 victory over Miami on Thursday. The Dominican native was 0-1 and allowed three runs in 7 1/3 innings over his previous three appearances, all in relief. Peralta has never faced Houston. He has struggled early in games so far this season. He has yielded a .368 batting average against in pitches 1-15 with three home runs among the 14 hits he has given up. Christian Yelich has hit eight of his major league-most 24 home runs this season on the first pitch and nine on the second. Mike Moustakas has 20 home runs and 43 RBI's so far this season. He is 8-for-20 with four homers and six driven in over his last five contests.

The Finals Free Pick - Warriors at Raptors Game 5

The Finals 2019 Raptors vs Warriors

Warriors in a Must Win Situation on Road

The best-of-seven series, The Finals, moves to Game 5 this Monday night with the Golden State Warriors on the road and on the ropes against the Toronto Raptors with a 3-1 series deficit. BetAnySports has opened the Raptors as 1.5-point home favorites to close this series out in five games. The total line for Monday’s 9 p.m. tip on ABC is 214.5 points. This NBA playoffs series has been shocking to most outside of Toronto.

The Warriors lost both games of this series at home to fall into the 3-1 hole. Ahead of Friday night’s 105-92 loss as five-point favorites, they were beaten 123-92 in Game three as three-point favorites at home. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in three of the first four games. Golden State also lost the series opener in Toronto 118-109 as a slight 1.5-point road underdog and it is also 1-3 against the closing spread through four games.

There is still no word on Kevin Durant’s availability for Monday’s Game 5 although he has been upgraded to questionable after missing his last nine games due to a calf injury. In his absence, Seth Curry has led the team in scoring with 28.4 points per game. Durant averaged 34.2 points in the 11 games he did play in the postseason. Golden State has averaged 114.8 PPG in 20 playoff games, but it has not scored more than 109 points in any of the first four games in this series.

Leonard Sets the Tone for the Raptors

Toronto is appearing in its first NBA Finals series in franchise history after years of frustration in the playoffs. Through 22 postseason games, the Raptors are 15-7 straight-up with 13-9 record ATS. They have covered BetAnySports’ closing number in seven of their last eight games. They are 9-3 SU at home with an 8-4 record ATS. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH is seven of those 12 games.

Behind the stellar play of Kawhi Leonard, Toronto is just one more win away from winning its first NBA title. He has averaged a team-high 31.1 points and 9.1 rebounds in those first 22 playoff games. Pascal Siakam is second on the team in scoring with 19.0 PPG and Kyle Lowry has led the way in assists with 6.4 a game. The Raptors are averaging 106.3 points a game while shooting 44.3 percent from the floor.

It is hard to see Golden State bowing out in five games, but Toronto has had the Warriors’ number in this series since Game 1.You have to ride the hot team in this one both SU and ATS.
