BetAnySports’ NFL Pick of the Week- Super Bowl XLIX

Betting on Super Bowl XLIX

New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks – Sunday, Feb. 1

BAS’ Current Line: Patriots are a 1 1/2-point favorite and the total has settled at 47 1/2.

The NFL will wrap-up another exciting season of football on Feb. 1
when the AFC Champion New England Patriots square-off against the
defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX in
Phoenix, Arizona.

BetAnySports
has opened the Patriots as slight one-point underdogs and the NFL
betting odds for the total in this matchup have been set at 48.5. New
England left little doubt that it deserved to be the favorite to win the
AFC this season in a 45-7 rout against Indianapolis in this past
Sunday’s conference title game. It closed as a seven-point home favorite
in that game and the total stayed just UNDER the closing 52.5-point
line. The Patriots snapped a three-game slide against the spread and the
total has stayed UNDER in three of their last four games.

Tom Brady added another gem to his future “Hall of Fame” resume in
the game against the Colts. He completed 65.7 percent of his 35 attempts
for 226 yards and three touchdown throws. His favorite target was
Julius Edelman with nine catches for 98 yards. The biggest plus in that
romp was LeGarrette Blount in the running game. He carried the ball 30
times for 148 yards and three scores.

The Seahawks did everything in their power to lose to Green Bay in
the NFC Championship, but in the end they made just enough plays to
escape with a 28-22 overtime victory as 8.5-point favorites at home on BetAnySports’ closing line.
They are now 8-0 SU in their last eight games with a 6-1-1 record ATS.
The total went OVER the closing 45-point line against the Packers and it
has now gone OVER in three of their last four games.

Seattle turned the ball over five times in that game including four
interceptions by quarterback Russell Wilson. The third-year vet still
found a way to overcome one of his worst games as a pro with a timely
35-yard scoring strike to Jermaine Kearse a little more than three
minutes into overtime. This was the first time that the Seahawks’
vaunted defense allowed more than 17 points in its last eight games.

New England brings a SU two-game losing streak in the Super Bowl into
this season’s matchup and it is a costly 1-5-1 ATS in a total of seven
Super Bowl appearances in franchise history, but I do not see the
Patriots being denied again against Seattle. Brady continues to play at a
very high level and there is no way that head coach Bill Belichick lets
another NFL title slip through his team’s hands.
