The Miami Heat can close the books on the Indiana Pacers for a third
consecutive season this Wednesday. The victory would serve as a Game 5
clincher in the Eastern Conference Finals. Considering that the Heat
have every source of momentum in their favor, they’re a 10/11 favorite
on the NBA futures.

Still, while the Pacers have struggled over the course of the past
few months, there’s a reason they were one of the only teams considered
to even stand a chance against the back-to-back champions. For much of
the 2013-14 campaign the Pacers were an intriguing NBA betting option
considering their formidable depth and burgeoning superstar talent.
Unfortunately for those that so desperate desire a change to the
league’s status quo, it doesn’t appear as though Paul George, Roy
Hibbert and company are coordinated enough to unseat LeBron James and
the Heat – not this year at least.
The dejected Pacers, with their backs against the wall, have 50/1
odds on the NBA Futures, but after just narrowly defeating both of their
first and second-round opponents, the intriguing payout borders on
moot. It will take more than a miracle for Indy to survive.
Heading forward, the Heat are eying a three-peat and awaits the
winner of the Western Conference Finals. It’s time to start thinking
about the big picture again.
