Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons

BAS’ Current Line: Cavaliers are 8 1/2-point favorites and the total is sitting at 207 1/2.

The front-end of this Tuesday’s NBA TV’s double-header features a
classic Central Division tilt between the surging Cleveland Cavaliers
and the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills. BetAnySports
opened the Cavaliers as five-point road favorites against Detroit and
the betting odds for the total have been set at 203.5 which has now
risen to the lines posted above the article.

Cleveland has reestablished itself as a legitimate contender in the
Eastern Conference during its current six-game winning streak both
straight-up and against the spread. The return of LeBron James to the
starting lineup has rejuvenated a team that lost six straight games (SU
and ATS) earlier this month. The Cavaliers are now 25-20 SU on the year
with a 20-25 record ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in 28 of their first
45 games.

James put-up 34 points in Sunday’s impressive 108-98 victory against
Oklahoma City with Cleveland closing as a 3.5-point home favorite on
BetAnySports NBA betting odds for the game. He is averaging a team-high
26.2 points and 7.4 assists a game.

The Pistons are still buried in the East standings at 17-28 SU (20-25
ATS), but they did show some signs of life in a
late-December/early-January run in which they won seven straight games
both SU and ATS. Since that point they have cooled to a 5-5 record SU
and ATS in their last 10 outings. This past Sunday, they lost to Toronto
on the road 114-110 while covering as eight-point underdogs. Detroit
will now return to its home court where is has gone just 7-15 both SU
and ATS in 22 previous games this year.

To get a win against their division rivals this Tuesday night, the
Pistons are going to have to squeeze the most out of an offensive effort
that will have to adapt to the recent loss of Brandon Jennings with a
ruptured Achilles tendon . Defensively, they are ranked in the
bottom-third of the league in points allowed (100.2). Detroit did draw
first blood in this season’s series against the Cavs with a dominating
103-80 victory on Dec. 28 as a 7.5-point underdog on the road.

It would be hard to go against Cleveland in this matchup given its
current form. The road team in this series has now won six of the last
eight games SU and I like that play again on Tuesday with the Cavaliers
easily covering the eight points in a SU win on the road.
