Giants Bumgarner Looks to Get in Win Column in KC

The San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals will battle on Wednesday when they meet at Royals Stadium in an interleague contest. The Royals could not beat them Tuesday, falling 2-1 in 11 innings. Joe Panik's single to center proving to be the game-winner. The Royals went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

The Giants will trot Madison Bumgarner out to the mound in this one. Left hander Bumgarner has a 0-2 record and a 3.43 ERA this season. The 26-year-old left-hander was named the 2014 World Series Most Valuable Player last time he was in this stadium. He went 2-0 with a save and a 0.43 ERA in against the Royals.

Meanwhile, it'll be Jason Vargas who starts for the Royals. Left hander Vargas is 2-0 with a 0.66 ERA so far this season. Pitching has been the key for the Royals so far this season. Jason Hammel surrendered just one run in six innings in the loss on Tuesday. The Royals' starters have now allowed just 20 runs in 80 innings with a scant 2.25 ERA.

Kansas City is batting .149 (13-for-87) with runners in scoring position this season.

Oddsmakers opened the Giants as -139-moneyline favorites versus the Royals, while the game's total opened at 7.5. The line now sees Bumgarner at -130 on the moneyline and the total is now at 8.
