The drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will return from their All-Star break on May 29 in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Matt Kenseth held off Mark Martin and Marcos Ambrose to take the checkered flag in the series' last race, the FedEx 400 at Dover International Speedway, on May 15. Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers rounded out the Top 5 at Dover, while Clint Bowyer, Carl Edwards, Martin Truex Jr., Jimmie Johnson, and Kevin Harvick also picked up Top-10 results at that event. Kenseth moved up four spots to sixth place in the driver standings with his result in the FedEx 400. Edwards leads that list by 24 points on second-place Johnson. Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Harvick, Ryan Newman, Bowyer, Kurt Busch, and Tony Stewart make up the rest of the Top 10 in the current standings. Kurt Busch won the Coca-Cola 600 last season, while Jamie McMurray took the checkered flag in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte last October. Johnson is the active leader in Cup victories on the track with six, most recently winning the 2009 NASCAR Banking 500. Jeff Gordon has five career Cup wins at Charlotte, Martin has four, and Kasey Kahne and Jeff Burton have three apiece. David Reutimann, Casey Mears, Stewart, McMurray, and Kenseth have also visited Victory Lane on the track. After competing in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will race at Kansas Speedway in the STP 400 on June 5. The circuit's June schedule will also include events at Pocono, Michigan, and Infineon.
