Some Old Faces and Some New Faces Meet in Championship Series

Betting on MLB

The MLB’s Championship Series provide two very contrasting stories.
In the NL, it will again be either the St. Louis Cardinals or San
Francisco Giants winning the Pennant. This isn’t surprising as one or
the other has done so in each of the last four seasons. But over in the
AL, we have the Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals hold the
top spots. The Orioles haven’t made the World Series since 1983 and the
Royals since 1985.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

It’s been a while since either the Orioles or the Royals have come this
far in the postseason. The Orioles swept the Detroit Tigers and their
three aces in the Divisional Series and now stand as the World Series
favorite at 11/5. They’re also a -150 chalk to end the Royals’
Cinderella run. At 13/4, the Royals are the biggest long shots to win
the World Series, but if you believe in momentum, the Kansas City is an
intriguing betting option.

In the National League, the two most consistent franchises over the last
five years will go head-to-head this Saturday, October 11. With
home-field advantage, the Cardinals are a slight -130 favorite; the
Giants being even money. Interestingly enough, both teams are 13/5 to
win the World Series.

MLB Odds: Nationals Put Momentum on Line in Giants Match up

Betting on San Francisco Giants Baseball

You might have missed it if you blinked, but the Washington Nationals
have climbed to the top of their division and emerged as the National
League forerunners. Now on a nine-game winning streak, they are 13/2 to
win the World Series.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

The Nationals paid their dues with franchise player Bryce Harper on the
injured reserve list for much of the first half of the season, and now
that the iconic outfielder is back in the lineup, the team can restore
its image as one of the league’s hottest shows.

Harper hasn’t led the Nationals alone, and his modest .262 average and
23 RBI can attest to that. Players like Anthony Rendon and Denard Span
have really stepped up and provided star offense for the club. Rendon’s
16 homeruns and 68 RBI pleasantly surprised the club.

The Nationals’ balanced offensive core is complemented by one of the
game’s most intriguing pitching staffs. This weekend, when Washington
hosts the San Francisco Giants, a wild card contender, we get to see
Doug Fister, Jordan Zimmerman and Stephen Strasburg in action.

The Nationals have always been a compelling MLB betting option, but
they’ve never lived up to the high expectations down the stretch.
They’re just 61-64 against the spread in 2014.

That may change soon.

Aces Scott Kazmir and Tim Hudson Battle Thursday Afternoon for the Athletics and Giants

BetAnySports’ MLB Pick of the Week: St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants- Tuesday, July 1

Betting on San Francisco Giants Baseball

St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants- Tuesday, July 1

BAS’ Line: Giants -118 and the Total is 7 1/2 U-125

The St. Louis Cardinals will kick-off the month of July on the road
this Tuesday night in Game 1 of a three-game series against the San
Francisco Giants. BetAnySports
has opened the Giants as -130 favorites on its MLB betting moneyline
for this game with the total set at 7.5. The first pitch is scheduled
for 10:15 p.m. (ET) at AT&T Park.

The Cardinals come into this series with just two victories in their
last six games. This includes a 3-1 series loss on the road against the
Los Angeles Dodgers this past weekend in which they were outscored 17-4
in the four games. They are now 44-39 on the year and 6.5 games in back
of Milwaukee in the NL Central. St. Louis is 21-22 on the road this year
and the total has stayed UNDER in eight of its last 12 road games.

Look for Marco Gonzales to get the start for the Cardinals on Tuesday
night. The left-hander made his Major League debut last Wednesday
against Colorado and after posting three strong innings he was tagged
for five runs in the fourth. He lasted one more inning; giving-up a
total of seven hits on the night.

San Francisco continues to set the pace in the NL West with an
overall record of 46-36, but there have been some cracks in the
foundation lately with just three victories in its last 10 games and
four-straight losses to Cincinnati this past weekend at home. The Giants
only managed to score a total of six runs in those four losses and the
total has stayed UNDER in five of their last eight games.

The good news for Giants’ fans is that Tim Lincecum is due to be back
on the mound as the team’s starter after tossing his second career
no-hitter in his previous start against San Diego. That could be a tough
act to follow with an overall ERA of 4.42 this season in a total of 16
starts. Prior to no-hitting the Padres, the right-hander had given-up a
total of 17 earned runs in his last four starts.

I am banking on BetAnySports’
favorable +120 MLB moneyline on the Cardinals in this matchup as it
will be a different story for Lincecum this time around. Consistency and
holding form have not been his strong suit over the past few years,
which will be evident in a St. Louis win on the road this Tuesday night.

MLB Odds: First in the Majors, Giants Eye Third Title in Five Years

Betting on San Francisco Giants Baseball

The San Francisco Giants are the hottest team in baseball, which is
fitting since a recent trend suggests that they’re due for another
championship. After winning the World Series in both 2010 and 2012, the
Giants are 6/1 to win the 2014 World Series. There’s just something
about those even numbers.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

This weekend the Giants will look to pad their NL West lead against a
Colorado Rockies team that has come back down to Earth since starting
the season on a roll.

We can credit San Francisco’s well-rounded offensive brigade with the
impressive resurgence. In addition to club stars like Hunter Pence,
Pablo Sandoval and Buster Posey playing at the elite level that fans
expect of them, the Giants have also benefited from spectacular
performances from Angel Pagan (batting .313 with 11 stolen bases) and
Michael Morse (13 home runs, 42 RBIs).

Even if the Giants don’t win the World Series outright, they still
have 13/4 MLB odds of winning the National League, something that their
established rotation can certainly manage. While Tim Lincecum and Matt
Cain aren’t quite the hurlers they used to be during San Francisco’s
previous title runs, Madison Bumgarner’s continued development and the
acquisition of Tim Hudson have made this team a threat game in and game
out.

MLB Odds: Dodgers, Giants Square off in NL West Title Contender Battle

Betting on Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball

While the rivalry between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco
Giants is enough to warrant attention at any point in the season, it’s
even more compelling when both teams are plus-.500 and in contention in
their division. The Dodgers may be the ones leading the MLB futures, but
don’t think that the 2012 champions aren’t still capable of dealing
damage.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

With 6/1 odds of winning the World Series, the Dodgers aren?t just
formidable forces in the NL West, but in Major League Baseball in
general. That’s just what happens when one’s superstar core of Yasiel
Puig, Hanley Ramirez and Adrian Gonzalez is firing on all cylinders, yet
isn’t even the most dangerous aspect of the lineup.

Thank Gonzalez and Puig for making the Dodgers relevant, but it’s Dee
Gordon and Juan Uribe who’ve helped round out the L.A. offense and
re-enforced the franchise’s case as a legitimate contender in the
National League.

Can the Dodgers continue to roll in the second month of the season,
even as their long-time rivals come knocking on the door for some
much-needed early success of their own?

San Francisco Giants Wins the World Series Twice in Three Years

Betting on the 2012 MLB World Series

The San Francisco Giants won the World Series on Monday night in extra innings, 4-3. The Giants were able to sweep the playoff dominant Detroit Tigers in a swift way. The Giants were able to control the Tigers since the beginning of the series. Not many bookies or sports betting sites had prepared for such a quick end to the 2012 season, but it happened anyway.

The game was tied for four innings until the top of the tenth inning when Marco Scutaro was able to score the go ahead run. Sergio Romo struck out Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera in the bottom of the tenth to seal a Giant victory. It was the second time in three years that the Giants were able to win the World Series. San Francisco Giant third baseman Pablo Sandoval took home the post-season MVP award after playing a near flawless series.

What was anticipated to be a close series, turned into a giant joke, as San Francisco proved they were the better team this season. After not playing each other very often, perhaps not knowing your opponent hurt the Tigers who had a very successful regular season.

Tiger’s star Miguel Cabrera was the last strike out victim of the 2012 season. Many hoped that the Triple Crown winner would have helped lead the Tigers, however, he was unable to bring the Tigers back from the 3-0 series hole they had dug themselves into.

For those who followed many bet online reviews, sports books or other online betting sites may have found several different odds makers that influenced your decision to wager on either the Tigers or Giants. This year was such a topsy turvy season that it seems anti-climactic that the World Series ended on a pop fly after only four games. At the very least it did go to extra innings, but that is about as exciting as it would get.

The baseball season is now over, and it is time to find another sport to follow with the same enthusiasm. As of right now the NHL is not in operation, thanks to the lockout, and the NFL season is half-way over. The NBA is just getting underway, so there are still many options for the sports betting enthusiast.

MLB Odds Favor D-Backs, Reputation Favors Giants

The surging Arizona Diamondbacks have an opportunity to put yet more space between themselves and the reigning World Series champion San Francisco Giants this weekend. The question is, can they actually follow through?

What was once looking like a tightly-fought NL West division race has blown right open thanks to the D-Backs' late-August success. Now, with a three-game set on the horizon, the Giants can either start clawing back at the lead, or continue their downward spiral.

As far as the MLB betting world is concerned, the Giants are a superbly-staffed club with winning experience. Arizona, in contrast, is still very much an unproven commodity. That may be why the D-Backs sit with just 18/1 odds of winning the World Series compared to San Francisco?s 25/1 despite the gap in the standings.

With the wild card berth essentially locked down by the NL East?s Atlanta Braves, it's all or nothing for the rivalry in the west. If Arizona can hold on to their playoff ticket, it will be their first trip to the postseason since 2007.

Led by Justin Upton and a contingent of well-rounded young hitters, not to mention revitalized ace Dan Haren, the Diamondbacks have seemingly come out of nowhere to emerge as a legitimate MLB betting option.

It may be hard to completely buy into the D-Backs? as contenders philosophy, but those who do stand the chance of collecting a significant payout.
