The drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will be back in action on Sunday afternoon as they compete in the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.
Matt Kenesth held off Dale Earnhardt Jr. on Monday night to win the rain-delayed Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.
Greg Biffle, Denny Hamlin, and Jeff Burton rounded out the Top 5 at Daytona, with Paul Menard, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Joey Logano, and Mark Martin making up the rest of the Top 10.
Tony Stewart was 16th in the season-opening event, while Kyle Busch was 17th, Trevor Bayne was 35th, Danica Patrick was 38th, Jeff Gordon was 40th, and Jimmie Johnson was back in 42nd.
Gordon won the Subway Fresh Fit 500 last season and in 2007, while Kasey Kahne won the Kobalt Tools 500 at Phoenix last November. Johnson leads all active drivers with four career Cup wins at Phoenix International Raceway.
Earnhardt Jr., Martin, Burton, and Kevin Harvick have all won twice at Phoenix in their Cup careers. Stewart, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Edwards, Ryan Newman, and Kenseth have each won there once.
After racing at Phoenix the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will head up to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Kobalt Tools 400 on March 11. The circuit's other March events will then be held at Bristol (March 18) and
Auto Club (March 25).
