After an entertaining and eventful 87th Annual MLB All-Star game it is
time to get read and see what the 2nd half of the season holds for many
teams. It's been a rollercoaster ride for the Toronto Blue Jays (51-40,
+0.05 betting units) this year, but they went into the All-Star break on
a hot streak, and they'll begin the unofficial second half of the
season Friday night with the first of three road games against the
struggling Oakland Athletics (38-51, –12.34 units). Sportsnet has the
coverage starting at 10:05 PM ET.

Bet on baseball at Bodog and get a free 100% bonus.

Despite the continued absence of injured outfielder Jose Bautista (turf
toe), the Blue Jays have won eight of their last nine to move to third
place in the American League East. Toronto has the best run differential
in the division at plus-75, just six runs behind Cleveland on the
junior circuit.

The Athletics, meanwhile, are near the bottom of the American League
with a minus-69 run differential, and they've lost eight of their last
11 games. Oakland ranks No. 27 in the majors in hitting with a .701 OPS,
and No. 21 in pitching at 4.40 FIP. There are injuries nearly
everywhere on the diamond; relief pitcher Fernando Rodriguez (3.64 FIP)
is the latest casualty, out for 15 days with a strained right rotator
cuff.

The fans at Wrigley Field will enjoy watching a match up tonigh between
the Atlanta Braves and, the entire National League All-Star Team

Thursday.

The Braves will pin their hopes on the pitching of right hander Lucas

season.

Harrell's opponent in this one will be Jason Hammel. The Cubs right

The Cubs were a 5-3 loser in their most recent outing on the road

Phillies. They lost as +166 underdogs, while the total score of 7 made
winners of UNDER bettors.

With Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump the presumptive US presidential
nominees for their respective parties, attention has turned to their
choices for vice president. Tim Kaine is the +160 favorite at press time
to become Clinton's Democratic running mate, while Newt Gingrich leads
the list of Republican hopefuls at +160.

Bet on politics at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

The Republican National Convention is being held in Cleveland from July
18-21, so Trump is expected to announce his selection sometime next
week. Gingrich, the former Speaker of the US House of Representatives,
has the highest profile of the possible candidates, but has also been
critical of Trump in the past. Chris Christie (+750) is a more natural
fit, and carries more betting value as the third favorite. Sarah Palin
is also available as a +4000 long shot.

Clinton hasn't quite secured her party's nomination yet, and the
Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia isn't until July 25-28,
so her decision will likely come after Trump's. Kaine is the junior
senator from Virginia, expected to be a swing state in the upcoming
election. Elizabeth Warren (+300) is the more popular choice of the
Democratic base, but a two-woman ticket is considered risky at this
point with Clinton heavily out-polling Trump.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals met in the 2015 American
League Championship Series, which was won by the eventual World Series
champs, the Royals. The two face off in the finale of a three-game
series in Toronto on Wednesday. Oddsmakers currently have Stroman and
the Blue Jays as -170 favorites on the moneyline while the total is
sitting at 9.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

The Royals go with Ian Kennedy (6-7, 4.04 ERA), who pitched well in his
last start despite the Royals losing 3-4 in Philadelphia. Kennedy
allowed three runs on six hits over five innings, striking out eight and
walking three, but he took the loss. The 31-year-old right-hander has
faced the Blue Jays just once – way back in 2007 in the third start of
his career – where he took a no-decision.

The Blue Jays counter with Marcus Stroman (6-4, 5.08 ERA), who gave up a
single run on five hits over 6.2 innings, striking out six and walking
one in a 1-2 loss to Cleveland. Stroman is familiar with Kansas City. He
made his first career start against the Royals in May 2014, giving up a
run on five hits with six strikeouts in a 12-2 win. He struggled
against Kansas City in an 11-8 win in the 2015 postseason, giving up
four runs on 11 hits in 6.1 innings.

MLB Wednesday Preview & Free Pick- Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals - Handicappers Hideaway

ID: 633834

The Pittsburgh Pirates and the St. Louis Cardinals continue their
extended four-game NL Central showdown this Wednesday night with Game 3
in an 8:15 p.m. (ET) start at Busch Stadium. BetAnySports
has opened the Pirates as +153 road favorites with the betting money
line on St. Louis set at -163. The total line for this game has been set
at 8.

Pittsburgh won the series opener 4-2 on Monday as a heavy +170 underdog
on the strength of Gregory Polanco’s two home runs. Heading into Tuesday
night’s matchup the Pirates had won their previous five games while
scoring a total of 29 runs. This moved them one game above .500 at
42-41. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing 8.5 line in Game 1
after going OVER in five of Pittsburgh’s previous seven games.

Look for Pittsburgh to turn to Jeff Locke as its starter for Wednesday
night. The left-hander is now 8-5 on the year after winning his last
three starts. He has only allowed four earned runs on 13 hits during
this winning streak, but on the year his ERA is still an inflated 5.13
due to a few rough outings.

The Cardinals reeled-off three straight wins against Milwaukee this past
weekend while pounding in a total of 19 runs. They are still a distant
nine games in back of Chicago in the division race with a record of
43-39 heading into Tuesday’s matchup. Despite the three wins against the
Brewers at home, St. Louis is still just 3-8 in its last 11 home games
as part of a 18-24 record on the year. The total has stayed UNDER
BetAnySports’ closing line in nine of its last 11 games played at home.

Starter Jaime Garcia is expected to get the call for St. Louis on
Wednesday night. The left-hander is 6-6 on the year through 16 previous
starts with a 3.84 ERA and a 1.34 Whip. He pitched a beauty his last
time out by holding the Brewers to one earned run on four hits through
eight full innings of work. This followed a rough outing against Seattle
on June 26 when he was shelled for five earned runs on 10 hits in just
5.2 innings pitched.

Both teams have shown to ability to score runs lately and I see that being the case on Wednesday night. Stick with the OVER on BetAnySports’ current total line of eight runs as the “best bet” pick in this one.

Last year, Matt Stonie did what nobody had done since 2006: Beat Joey
Chestnut at the annual Fourth of July Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Chestnut returns to Coney Island this Monday to reclaim his crown, but
at press time, he's a slight –110 underdog to Stonie's –140 in
head-to-head betting.

Bet on entertainment at Bovada and get a free 50% bonus.

Chestnut was the overwhelming –900 favorite heading into last year'
competition, but Stonie (in the field at +500) was the rising star on
the Major League Eating circuit, and a definite threat to take the title
away from the aging champion. Now 32 years old, Chestnut remains second
on the MLE rankings behind Stonie, who just turned 24 in May. The
over/under for Monday's contest is 63.5 hot dogs consumed (buns
included) within the 10-minute time limit. Stonie ate 62 franks last
year to claim the title; Chestnut could only manage 60.

On the women's side, Japanese-American Miki Sudo is expected to win her
third straight crown. Sudo (No. 3 on the MLE rankings) is a –250
favorite in head-to-head betting with Sonya Thomas, who won this event
in each of the first three years since its inaugural run in 2011. Their
over/under is 39.5 hot dogs.

MLB Odds: Sanchez Starts for Jays in Colorado - Handicappers Hideaway

The Toronto Blue Jays have lost six of their last eight games, and
they'll send arguably their best starter to the mound Wednesday
afternoon (3:10 PM ET, SNET) against the Colorado Rockies. Aaron Sanchez
gets the nod for the Blue Jays against rookie southpaw Tyler Anderson,
who's making his fourth career start in the big leagues.

Oddsmakers have the Blue Jays as a -130 moneyline favorite and the total is sitting at 12.5.

Bet on baseball at Bovada and get a free 100% bonus.

Sanchez (3.46 FIP) has outperformed his teammates this year, but Toronto
(41-37, –5.22 betting units) is only up 0.90 units in his 15 starts on a
team record of 9-6. Four of those losses were quality starts by
Sanchez, including his last appearance, Friday's 2-3 defeat at the hands
of the Chicago White Sox (+148 at home).

The Rockies (37-39, 0.84 units) took Anderson in the first round of the
2011 MLB Draft, out of the University of Oregon; he missed the 2015
season with a stress fracture in his elbow, delaying his big-league
debut until earlier this month. Colorado has lost two of Anderson's
three starts, but the Las Vegas native has allowed just five earned runs
over 17.2 innings, posting a tiny 1.62 FIP with zero home runs. Tuesday
will be his first game against an American League opponent.

MLB Tuesday Preview & Free Pick- Miami Marlins at Detroit Tigers - Handicappers Hideaway

Name: image_4414.jpg

ID: 633781

The Miami Marlins kick off a brief two-game interleague matchup against
the Detroit Tigers this Tuesday night in a 7:10 p.m. (ET) start at
Comerica Park. BetAnySports
has opened the Marlins as -110 favorites with Detroit listed as an even
+100 home underdog. The total line for this game has been set at 9.5.

Miami has climbed within three games on Washington in the NL East behind
a 7-3 record in its last 10 games. This past weekend they took three of
four from the Chicago Cubs at home including a 6-1 win on Sunday as
-151 home favorites on BetAnySports’ closing money line.
The total went OVER 6.5 in that game and it has gone OVER in Miami’s
last three outings. It heads on the road with a 20-16 record in 36
previous road games this year.

The Marlins have been able to generate an average of 4.8 runs over their
last 10 games and on the year they are averaging 4.2 runs a game. Look
for Adam Conley to get the start on Tuesday night. The right-hander is
coming off a strong outing against Atlanta last week in which he pitched
eight full innings of shutout ball while allowing four hits. On the
year, he is an even 4-4 with a 3.56 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.

Detroit will try an snap a three-game skid after getting swept by
Cleveland at home this past weekend. This came on the heels of a
four-game sweep of its own over Seattle last week following three losses
to Kansas City on the road. This roller-coaster ride has the Tigers at
an even 38-38 on the year and seven games in back of Cleveland in the AL
Central Division race. They are 21-16 at home this season and the total
has stayed UNDER in four of their last six home games on BetAnySports’ closing line.

Mike Pelfrey is scheduled to get the start for Detroit on Tuesday night.
He has also pitched out of the bullpen this season in a struggle to
hold onto that fifth spot in the rotation. Through 14 previous starts,
the right-hander is just 1-7 with a 4.91 ERA and a 1.70 WHIP. Overall,
Detroit is ranked 13th in the AL in pitching with a team ERA of 4.60.

I like Miami in this matchup as a slight road favorite. The Marlins have
been playing solid ball lately and Conley gives them the edge on the
mound.
