Spurs and Cavs Both Struggling to Find Identity

Two top NBA powers struggling to find wins lately clash on Tuesday night with the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road against the San Antonio Spurs. The game will have an 8 p.m. tip on TNT from the AT&T Center.

BetAnySports opened the Spurs as 3.5-point home favorites. The total line opened at 210 points. The line moved to Cleveland -2-points and the total has risen to 212.

Spurs Catch Cavs In a Bad Rut

The Cavaliers have now lost 10 of their last 13 games straight-up. They have been even worse against the spread at 2-16 over their last 18 contests. This is all part of a SU 27-18 record while going a costly 12-32-1 ATS.

Cleveland has failed to cover in 14 of its first 23 road games this season. The total has gone OVER in three of their last four road games on BetAnySports’ closing line.

Isaiah Thomas is back in the lineup for Cleveland. He led the way in scoring with 24 points against Oklahoma City on Saturday. His team was still on the wrong end of a 148-124 loss. They were a slight 2.5-point home favorite.

LeBron James added 18 points and seven assists. The Cavaliers could not bounce back from a 19-point deficit at the end of the first quarter.

Spurs have Been Struggling as Well

San Antonio has been sliding down the standings in the Western Conference. A 2-4 SU slide in its last six games has been detrimental. The Spurs have gone 2-3-1 ATS during this same span. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ closing spread in all six games.

San Antonio is still one of the best home teams in the league at 19-3 SU. They have covered in 14 of the 22 games. The total has stayed UNDER in four of its last five home games.

The changing of the guard in San Antonio continues to take shape. Veteran guard Tony Parker is playing off the bench with fellow veteran Manu Ginobili. Manu remains out of the lineup with a thigh bruise. In Sunday’s 94-86 loss to Indiana as six-point home favorites, Parker scored 12 points while going 5-for-10 from the floor.

The Spurs are ranked 28^th in the league in scoring with 100.6 points per game. They remain at the top of the list in points allowed at 97.5 a game.

Both teams are trying to regain their winning form at the midway point of the season. When it comes to this matchup, I would have to lean towards San Antonio ATS coming off a bad loss on its home court.

Va Tech Hosts North Carolina in ACC Action

10th Ranked North Carolina Going for 5th Straight

The 10th-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels and the Virginia Tech Hokies meet on Monday at Cassell Coliseum. Tip-off is set for 7 pm EST and ESPN has the telecast.

North Carolina can't be making too much of a four-game winning streak. They've got another game tonight on a quick turnaround. The Hokies are no slouch at home either.

Oddsmakers opened the Tar Heels as -4-point favorites versus the Hokies, while the game's total opened at 163.5. Line now shows North Carolina as 3.5-points favorites and the total is up to 164.

Virginia Tech is a Formidable Opponent for North Carolina

In their last action, Virginia Tech was a 91-82 loser at home against Florida State Seminoles. They failed to cover the -1.5-point spread as favorites.

Hokies junior guard Justin Robinson is coming off a career-best 26-point against Florida State on Saturday.

Virginia Tech has been outrebounded in five of its six ACC games. It has been with double-digit rebounding margins in three of those games.

The Hokies will hope to benefit from an energized campus for tonight's game. It has been designated a "black-out". Fans are encouraged to wear black.

North Carolina Looks Like They are Hitting Their Stride

North Carolina was a 80-66 winner in its last match at home against Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. They covered the -13.5-point spread as favorites.

North Carolina has established itself as one of the country's top rebounding teams. Even without a major post presence. In Saturday's victory against Georgia Tech, the Tar Heels held a 46-25 rebounding advantage.

That resulted in a season-high 26 second-chance points. It helped offset 42.2 percent shooting from the field. The mark was the second-worst shooting percentage in a North Carolina victory this season.

Joel Berry was one of the players with shooting woes. He was 3-for-17 from the field Saturday. Berry made a career-high nine free throws. He matched a career-best with eight rebounds.

How Conference Championship Pools Work

Football squares is a type of football pool that gives all participants a chance to win. It is based solely on luck and there is no skill in determining which team has the better players and which team is likely to cover the spread.

Participants pick one of 100 squares. Each square represents a spot on a 10-by-10 grid and it corresponds to the last digit of each team’s scoring total.

A winner is determined at the end of each quarter. The 1st quarter, 2nd quarter, 3rd quarter, and Final Game score. The winner is determined by looking at the last number in each of the teams’ score, and then matching those numbers on the grid and seeing which square intersects those two numbers.

An example would be if the Miami Dolphins were playing the New York Giants in the Super Bowl, and the score at halftime was Miami Dolphins 33, and NY Giants 24. The last number for the Dolphins is 3, and the last number for the Giants is 4.

The square on the grid that has the Dolphins with a number of 3, and Giants score of 4, would be the winner. What if the game goes into overtime? If the game goes into overtime, you would NOT have a winner for the 4th quarter. Instead, the FINAL score will be the last winner of the pool.

Two Faves Meet in NFC Championship Game

It has been a wild ride to the NFC Championship Game. The NFC playoffs has gone chalk with the No. 2 Minnesota Vikings traveling to Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday night. They will face the No. 1 Philadelphia Eagles.

Game time on FOX is set for 6:40 p.m. and Minnesota comes in as a 3-point road favorite at VietBet with the total set low at 39 points.

Vikings Advance to NFC Championship on Wild Last Play

The Vikings needed a last-second touchdown to get past New Orleans 29-24 in Sunday’s Divisional Round matchup as 5.5-point home favorites with VietBet. The total went OVER the closing 46.5-point line after staying UNDER in five of their previous seven games.
